| oldschoolfbPosts: 34Location: Join Date: October 9, 2008 1:53 PMSend Message | the top of this division will have the usual suspects.....hillswest will once again be over rated. and Kings park will be tough, mainly because they always seem to have tough kids ( dirty as hell, but they always bring a tough hard nosed group of kids) sayville will have an off yr ( lost too many seniors). Islip always seems to get up for big games, and brings a big crowd every night home or away. and should be a solid young team. teams to watch out for : WESTHAMPTON, HUNTINGTON | |
| SlateIIIPosts: 14Location: Join Date: June 14, 2009 11:45 AMSend Message | Huntington will be competitive with their talent but they can ever seem to put it all together. Why Westhampton? What's their deal? | |
| Suffolk-IIIPosts: 261Location: Join Date: August 24, 2008 8:21 PMSend Message | Hill West, Kings Park and Rocky Point all are good teams, but they can NEVER win the BIG ONE. Islip, Huntington, Harborfields, and Sayville seem to play well in BIG GAMES. Time will tell. Surprise seatings were: 1. Harborfields had an excellent team last year and were seeded way to low for talent. Again this year the 8th seed they got a very low placing. More sandbagging??? 2. Sayville lost way too much to be considered for a 2 seed. Can a good program develop player this fast???

| oldschoolfbPosts: 34Location: Join Date: October 9, 2008 1:53 PMSend Message | i want to know how harborfeilds can possibly be considered a good, or even an ok team. they had a terrible seed last yr , played a cupcake schedule and lost first round of the playoffs. and with a 9-2 record from last yr they come back and pull an 8 seed this yr trying to do the same thing ! | |

Yes their lower seeded schedule helped early but they were a legit team by year's end. They just happened to match-up well vs. the teams on their schedule. Someone will say...what about their loss to EHampton...that ride is draining and it just goes to show the depth of D3 in general...any team on any day.
Burke...you must be sniffing the left over glue sticks if you think KP can hang with WI... While KP is usually a physical team, they're no where nearly as athletic...particularly across the front lines. WI just has too much overall speed and athleticism for KP

EI is going to run that division this year without a doubt. i coached highschool football upstate for many years and came down a few years ago. east islip has by far the best football coach around at the helm. while his character and values have been questioned on other forums, ive seen a few of their games since moving down here. He brings the most disciplined team on the island, and they execute!

My prediction is KP wins DIII if they just do what they do best.....power over people. Sayville could not stop their power game last year. They only lost b/c they decided to go shotgun and try to finesse Sayville. Dont think too much. Just lineup in the I and hand the ball off to Russell. I don't think Sayville will be much this year. They lost too much last year. They'll have some tough kids as usual, but not enough talent to hang with HHW & KP

| 3rd&goalPosts: 70Location: Join Date: April 15, 2009 10:48 PMSend Message | Don't be looking beyond Sayville's defense last year as be THE REASON they did so well. Boos was a real liability the last 4-5 games with his ball handling & decision making, and the receivers had numerous dropped balls. The defense is why they were LIC's...and they return about 7 on that side. They will not put up their usual numbers offensively, but should be competitive and certainly a playoff team (top 4) in the end. Don't look past Islip as they have very explosive skill players returning and their defense is always tough. HHH West is loaded but they just aren't finishers...although by overall talent they should run away with the division. KP should be good, but I don't see them being as physically dominant up front as they were when Montemuro was a senior.

I'll through out: Hauppauge - Patrovich proves he can win anywhere (6-2) Harborfields - proves they were a one man team last year (2-6) Huntington - Talent pool reloaded (5-3)

| Suffolk-IIIPosts: 261Location: Join Date: August 24, 2008 8:21 PMSend Message | East hampton is my surprise pick. I saw them in Massapequa 7 on 7 and they have very good skilled players, with a good or decent line they will beat teams they are not supposed to. | |
| 3rd&goalPosts: 70Location: Join Date: April 15, 2009 10:48 PMSend Message | I'd say that Patrovich is already well accepted as a very good coach, but Hauppauge doesn't have a 13 seeded schedule this year...5-3 at best. Huntington will be better now that Muller is back on staff after a year off...but I think they are a year a way...4-4 at best. I agree on Harborfields, although they tend to do better when not much is expected, and fall short when seeded high...
Many teams look good in 7v7...but the big IF starts with the line for EH and then moves onto the defensive side...losing most of their starters could be trouble. I'd say they will go 4-4.
The interesting thing in this division are the number of teams that are really unknown because of last season...ESM returns EVERYONE but needs a signature win to gain confidence; Comsewogue returns ALOT..but how do they respond to 3 consecutive losing seasons & an 0-8 season last year...lots of pressure; WHB gets most of their skill back but lose 3 big linemen and they were small physically...also hear they are changing offenses but their schedule is VERY favorable; and both MP & DP lost EVERYONE but usually are tough outs week in/week out & also have favorable schedule set-ups. Any of these teams are capable of going 4-4 or better. I think RP is in for rough season based on schedule & a new offense...open w/ HHHW, Hauppauge & Islip in the middle, & end with Sayville...3-5 at best. So the question becomes is how many 4-4 teams will make it into the playoffs because everyone will be beating up on each other...once again D3 will be a toss up until the end. I'd be willing to bet that the top teams are no better than 6-2 anyhow

| 3rd&goalPosts: 70Location: Join Date: April 15, 2009 10:48 PMSend Message | I hear that they've been attending some Air-Raid clinics (Spread stuff) and did run some Shotgun stuff last year. I'd be surprised if they completely left their Wing-T though...they run it very efficiently from what I've seen of them | |
