Sure the spread offense can give defenses headaches, but how many teams have the talented skilled players to make the spread work??? The most important factor is being able to honestly evaluate your athletes abilities, then use an offense that is best suited for what you have. Example: Sayville ran the I / Power I forever. Last year without the big horses up front and many athletes, they switched to the spread with nice success. Kuddo's to the staff for changing thing to suit the talent they had!!! I think it was less about the horses up front than it was about the number of skill kids. They've always had a big blocking TE & physical FB...not so much the case now...more speed. Their OLine was still good size...not as big as 04...but good enough | |
