Want to tell you a story, thats true. I was a very good player in my day. Didn't play ML baseball, but did play the game. In the summertime in NY, kids played fast pitch baseball with a spaulding and a stickball bat. Understand at this level and playing talent, it's alot more difficult, a skinny bat, a small ball, etc..... I was 34 years old, and faced the best talented kid I ever saw. His name was Ziggy, he was the best talent I ever seen. He could score 30 in basketball, bowl 200 plus, awesome in baseball and softball. He was talented. Football, he was great. I played fast pitch baseball against him this summer. My age is stated, and I was losing to him 0-4. I threw him the hardest faseball I could throw. He saw me rear back. He creamed it ! He hit it so hard I was demorilized ! If a hardball, it would have went 500 feet ! I had alot of pitches, I learned them while playing this game and knew I couldn't win if I didn't have other pitches. I knew I couldn't throw another hard fastball at him. He would cream it. So, I threw him the knuckler sinker, I threw him the Knunkler curve, I threw him the sinker , I threw him the slider, , the curve... I threw the fasball , but high and away, I got him on the other pitches. This was all at 90 feet, 6 inches. I beat him over the long run. What did he throw ? A fastball in the 90's , maybe a changeup. You know , his arm was hurt that summer by September ! Mine didn't. My point is, pitchers today, think they can get by with a couple of pitches. Thats wrong. You need more. Young pitchers coming up should resort to learning a new pitch from a vet. They need to learn how to throw more pitches to fool the batters. Does anyone get this ? Go Mets, lets send a couple of guys down to the ML and see what we can teach these kids.

Great story, I played stick ball (tennis and bat from 45 feet away) and whiffle ball with my friends, so I know much fun you had. I think I might know this Ziggy, did he eventually have a comic strip made of him, LOL. stay well. Want to tell you a story, thats true.I was a very good player in my day. Actually, he's a psychologist/psycho-analyst. "Ziggy" is the nickname for Sigmund. YOU know him? Well Crunch, what's his career BA? Hmmm...on second thought, what's the real deal? LOL!

I'll have to start checking my laptop more frequentltly when I travel, as you are pure entertainment. Nobody in their right mind would even consider posting something as trivial as this.
Are you kidding?
You played stick ball?
That's it?
Whoopty freqin' do.
You showed him.....you stud, Ronnie.
How about a great story about how you played with army men or train sets too?
Please, stick to your pre season National League West analysis. At least that was minimally interesting. Well, not really, but it was better than this trash.

Hitting a round ball on a square bat is a feat ! We all probably had Ziggy's in our day and age. You know, the new kid in town or the up and comming kid that just seemed to be better then you. Remember The Natural ? He was, better then me. it just took him a little more time to get better, if you follow the story. I don't have a hard time admitting it. He was good. Have we all not come across these situations in life ? Go Mets, have a 69 miracle season !
