I know this is the Yankees Universe and I know you’re happy the team has finally decided to take care of business.

But     . . . . . .    Leave JUPITER alone     . . . . . . . . .

We liked it the way it was.

Talk about exuberance.

Bruce4Real

Guys you’re looking good.

Easy does it ALEX.

Bruce4Real

Thanks SERGIO.
Bruce4Real

Let’s not forget about our leadoff guy and the second hole executing in almost every game too that’s something that has evidently and steadily helped our team. How important is that? Just ask the sux.

Aceves again?  Damn this guy keeps coming out of nowhere; did anybody say Ramiro Mendoza?

Stay the course guys    . . . . . . .   no hesitation whatsoever    . . . . . . .   pretty please.

Bruce4Real

JUST STATING THE OBVIOUS.

That’s what Hal did. So don’t fret over nothing. This team is very capable of getting there. You claim Y-O-U  A-R-E  F-A-M-I-L-Y and that there is electricity in the clubhouse so what’s there to worry about?

He also said he fully trust you so     . . . . . . . . . .    there you have it.

Bruce4Real

We need to keep playing the same type of baseball for the next few weeks. Why?  Because (and don’t look now but  . . .   ) the sux are not in their best shape (the expected correction. They were playing too great baseball for TOO long  they are a VERY good team BUT they are not THAT great). So we have them exactly where we wanted them. How you deal with that fact is entirely up to you guys but  . . . . EASY DOES IT.

Just ever so barely outdistance them (Be surgically cool and relentless)       . . . . . . . .     And hell Yeah one game at a time.

Bruce4Real

ON THE OTHER NEWS  (Sleep well Cronkite    . . . . .   Sir).

Our team caught up with the sux (as it was expected and about the time it was expected. Our guys finally grabbed randomness by the horns     . . . . . . .  for the second time this season) AGAIN that could only mean we’re on the right track.

Bruce4Real

WOW   . . . . . . . .       nice game.

Excellent Defense and timely HR hitting won the game. So this was the EASY game against a LAST place team the media was talking about?

It looked like a pretty tight game to me but it gave us those great defensive plays: two DP’s and Tex dream throw to home plate (does anybody remember Giambi? ) and an equally impressive throw by Molina to a very alert Coke, that sealed the Orioles’ fate.

HINSKE seems to be on his way to quickly become a household name in NY; I’m just glad he’s doing to other teams what he used to do to us. KUDOS Eric.  And how about Matsui sama walk-off?  G-R-E-A-T  S-T-U-F-F.

Bruce4Real

Meantime back in Halladay land Roy Halladay won a game for us without being on the roster. CRAAAZY.
Bruce4Real

There will be more days like these in the near future a lot more than days when everything will go against us but that’s baseball.

On a day like yesterday who was thinking about that? We were just enjoying our national past time watching our team play beautiful baseball.   AWESOME.

Bruce4Real

Did I forget to mention Alex and Tex were AWESOME in the middle of that lineup?
Bruce4Real

Joba looked pretty much the Joba the fans had come to love and the rest on the team followed his lead from Alex and Tex to Hughes and Mariano it was a done deal in no time.

Joba was effective and efficient and so was baseball yesterday. More than we could ask for     . . . . . . . . .     A perfect day of Yankee baseball. I know who must have had the broadest smile in the house: CASHMAN and who could blame him.

Bruce4Real

As far as the game was concerned it was a great game.  A great team victory and it seemed like a sure handed team victory because it was and I won’t even talk about you know who’s little league play in RF because Joba got his back (as it should) and that’s baseball.
Bruce4Real

It was nice to see Moose too I have to ‘fess that I jumped on Mussina’s bandwagon in his last season with us but   . . . . .   Oh what a ride that was!

We didn’t make the postseason but it didn’t really matter    . . . . . .      sort of    . . . . . .   Moose got his 20 game season. Oh what a season it was (especially near the end)!
Bruce4Real

It was a great day at the stadium a day when Yankee following turns into Disneyland (world)  sort of and you wonder how great must have felt for the old Yankee fans to witness the greatness of these guys now turned into legends. I know how it feels to be a fan nowadays and it’s a great feeling although you get excited by those feelings and suffer when your team is down I guess that will never change, that’s the eternal constant in our lives:  baseball and its ups and downs.

The stadium felt like the old stadium (to me at least) only better (once inside you need more money to survive the required number of innings but who’s complaining? ).

Bruce4Real

How to reach the post season    . . . . .     really?

Just don’t manage your team with desperation and allow your guys to play to their abilities you are managing a potent offense with a very good bullpen to go with a good rotation   . . . . . . .   I just hope you are not waiting for Cash to buy you a new toy named Halladay.

Bruce4Real

I’m disappointed in you because all I thought you had going for you was your intelligence (and that was good enough for me) because as manager you haven’t won that much (and these are the Yankees so we are talking WS winning experience as manager). Maybe you should have checked the definition of momentum prevalent in the media because I think that might come closer to baseball reality than yours.
Bruce4Real

Momentum with respect to what   . . . . . .       exactly?

Let me give a hint YOU LOSE three games to Anaheim immediately followed by TWO wins over Detroit in the Bronx. Where is the momentum big guy? Let me help you a bit more EVEN if you win one more game against Detroit today You’ve already lost three games to Anaheim and you’ve won another three to Detroit WHERE IS THE MOMENTUM? Maybe the definition of momentum changed over the weekend. If this is momentum then we already had meaningful momentum after one win to Detroit (don’t even try it Leyland this has nothing to do with you).

Do you want to talk about momentum? Then talk to us AFTER you have won NINE back to back games against Foston and/or FOUR back to back games against Anaheim then we’ll be all ears. Because reaching the post-season with this team should not be a walk in the park but it might come close.

Bruce4Real

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT WILDCAT.

You lost three games in the Anaheim series which was really a test of what to expect from your team in the ALDS or ALCS and the fact that Wang is not operational (thanks to your third base coach which still is with the team) has nothing to do with it. Prior to that trip to Anaheim we have lost to the Angels in the good and in the bad during the regular season and during the postseason. They were and still are our ever present nightmare and one of the reasons why some of us thought you were a good choice over Torre was the fact that Scioscia was light years smarter than Torre and you being a former Northwestern wildcat were surely our ace card. Guess what? Scioscia is also smarter than you. You don’t need to be a Mensa member to know that by winning series you control your own destiny and are guaranteed a playoff spot. BUT THIS “I think the importance of it is keeping the momentum going. Detroit’s a very good team — we’re playing another first-place team — and keeping that momentum going is important.”

This even defies the laws of Physics including quantum theory. If this is a valid proposition then you might be able to solve the “information paradox”   . . . . . .   without even trying.

Bruce4Real

As far as our Northwestern graduate goes I have a problem with “I think the importance of it is keeping the momentum going. Detroit’s a very good team — we’re playing another first-place team — and keeping that momentum going is important.”
