Shelley grew up among some of the best coaches in baseball as well as some of the superstars in the game. You tell me who would know better as to what hardball the old fashion way is: Shelley’s father and Girardi or that loser maddon and that phony gomes (more on gomes later)? The answer hands down is Duncan and Girardi. The rest is bull shiit. Another thing Cervelli still is out for at least 10 weeks Iwamura on the other hand is doing fine thank you.
Bruce4Real

Now gomes is trying to find an excuse for his coward from behind tackle on Shelley by saying: he was taught from T-ball that he owes it to his teammates to protect their back which sounds like some good shiit the only problem with that is that it doesn’t describe what happened on the field.

We all saw a player who plays hard ALL THE TIME going after Iwamura to send a message which is how that famous gambler used to play and he showed his spikes but barely touched Iwamura and if you really pay attention to the clip he stopped just in time not to inflict pain on the SS. Had Shelley been bent on hurting Iwamura as that ho/mo maddon and that bastard gomes stated Iwamura would be Fujiko by now because his ba//s would be gone. But don’t take my word for it go to the video.

As for gomes he came running from rf with the blatant intent to hurt shelley; he attacked Shelley from behind like the coward he really is (just like that bastard Lowell from bucking Foston) and the momentum he carried with him when he shoved Shelley propelled the latter forward but since Shelley is built like a hunk he barely noticed it BUT WE DID and all this crap about gomes “following the Yankees all his life and knowing the Yankees as a team comprised of clean shaven professional players who don’t play like that” is just the coward in him begging the Yankees for forgiveness because he knows that after this game he’s a MARKED MAN and HE SHOULD BE.

The pity of it is that we are going to waste a precious baseball on this piece of crap; a waste indeed.

Bruce4Real

Shelley did right by us and he shouldn’t concern himself with the media, they’re a bunch of gutless Yankee haters anyway.

The other pity is that we are paying too much attention to these perennial doormats and we should just swat them like the miserable flies they are and the players should pay attention even those who grew weak at the knees under Torre like Jason and Jeter and realize that this miserable team should not be underestimated and the best payback is to bury them under a ton of runs every time we meet them and EXECUTE without fail when we play them whether at home or on the road and all those fruit cakes who gave Shelley some grief at Legends field are a bunch of cheapskates who will never buy real tickets for a real game at Yankee stadium.

On the other hand those of us who do pay hard cash for those tickets will have your back.

You play hard and give us your best every time you’re up there and protect your teammates at all times YOU WILL BE OKAY BY US, the ones who really matter; but the best barometer is your manager you owe it to yourself never to embarrass your team and your manager and you’ll be okay. That cowardly attack on you by that bastard gomes should have taught you another lesson: protect yourself at all times.

Again lets’ not waste any more precious time on those losers, we have better things to do like winning a World Series championship and that we can't mess up with.

Bruce4Real

Hey Moose whatever works for you to be an effective pitcher should be okay. That could only help the team and it’s the team that wins and that’s what we all should be about, players and fans.Good stuff, keep it up you’ll be surprised where that could take us.

Bruce4Real

I’m all for the veteran players trying to teach Shelley how to play hard without looking mean-spirited.

What I find disheartening is the fact that not one veteran player attacked the cowardly way gomes went after Shelley. Are they trying to teach Shelley the right way to play or are they just worried about risking their butts?

And to think that I used to blame Torre for the team behaving like sissies against Foston, the Angels and other roughnecks around the league. I remember Damon coming to the Yankees:”I’ll continue to crash the fences like I’ve always done”. Some of us said to him “we need you functional and healthy forget about crashing those fences.” Damon and others seem to care too much about what other teams might think about Shelley.

They probably never cared that Alex and Jeter had been taking hit after hit every month every season from every single f.ing pitcher in the league. Where were you then? One thing is to teach a youngster (not so young really) who loves being a Yankee player to tone down his exuberance, another thing is to pretend you care for him when you actually care more about your own a$$ than you do about your teammates’ welfare, especially when you seem so anxious to get your message across thru the Yankee hating tabloids.

You bought into gomes BS! I can’t believe you’re that gullible.

THAT IS LAME.

Bruce4Real

Let’s draw a lesson from this stupid incident and let’s not forget these baseball midgets so whenever we face them during the season we won’t waste any time dispatching them as they deserve and pile up as many runs as we can in every tilt.

The team always comes first so let’s not deviate from the common goal here in the Bronx which is playing to win it all; other teams talk about it but WE actually experience it firsthand year after year and anybody who’s willing to wear that uniform should understand it (there is a new twist this year and that is WE WILL ALL BE PATIENT) and that’s fine with most of the Yankee loyal fans. And don’t ask your dad (as great a coach as he is) but Girardi your Boss who has your back. And from my years of watching the Yankees I think the players who can help you in that regard would be, besides Girardi, Posada (the most, always passionate and loyal, never stupid nor weak at the knees) Matsui (always the classiest) and Andy of  course.

I'm not dissing the rest but IT IS WHAT IT IS.

Bruce4Real

I will give the tampa doormats a break and will turn the page too. I don’t want injured players no more than the tampa brass but it all goes back to that cowardly charge (in ST for GS!) by that future journeyman johnson.

And the tampa Brass better be taking a long look at their current skipper. But so be it.

Bruce4Real

Let's finish ST without any more injured players.

What was done needed to be done and since the league had been using the Yankees for beaming practice for years at least they know things have changed in the Bronx and the old status quo is no longer an option as far as protecting our players is concerned. Girardi showed that he cares about his players even the rookies and that speak volumes and every player should feel safe knowing Girardi has their backs.

Bruce4Real

Igawa seemed to have lost track of his role or the use of his arsenal. I hope it’s true he thinks ST is for fine tuning oneself and there is nothing more than that. He seemed to be dumbfounded when he got hit but maybe his body language is plain odd.

Because of his price tag the Yankees have to absolutely make sure he tries every possible venue before giving up on him.

Bruce4Real

Alex had a chance to make a big statement and he did: by coming to an almost full stop in front of the doormats’ catcher he seemed to be saying: “this is frigging spring training, if you don’t like it suit me.”

Here is the best player in the game showing how silly the posture of those who condoned the injuring of Cervelli is. Can any of these guys teach Alex the right way to play the game? A three time League MVP?   Get serious.

The only problem with that is that if he was playing for maddon Alex surely wouldn’t have made the cut in time for the 2008 baseball season.  WELL . . . . Nobody is perfect.

Meantime gomes is probably hiding behind a tree at a nearby park waiting for someone to mug while practicing his WILDING brand of baseball.

Bruce4Real

SO  what’s happening with the Yanks?   Scott Patterson  baby, Scott Patterson.
Bruce4Real

According to Sports Illustrated Beckett is throwing pain free but he won’t make the trip to Japan: You could have read that in here a few weeks ago. Theo and Co. told Beckett’s back to began acting up so he wouldn't make the trip to Japan that was going to leave the sux in bad shape at the start of their 2008 season when they will defend their 2007 title.

Back when the Yankees made that trip and Mussina being Mussina (decent IQ I mean) realized that trip was going to affect the whole team and him in particular he was adamant about the trip but was told by the whole media and the Yankees that he had to make the trip because there was pressure on the Yankees coming from MLB.

Where is that frigging pressure now? The one that is supposed to be applied to the frigging sux, despite what some brainless mutts have stated on this site (worry about your 2007 chokers you jerks).

Now the charade has started; Beckett is beginning to feel better and he will start throwing GRADUALLY until almost as if by miracle he’ll be in top shape and peaking right when he’s supposed to start for the sux for the first time in 2008.

There’s pie all over Bud's face; the sux are pulling a fast one on baseball and Bud seems to act more stupid than he is when it comes to the sux.

SHAME ON BUD and SHAME ON MLB.

A sign of maturity is knowing when to say NO; otherwise your heart goes out to too many places: first to this con artist Leyritz, then to “the lady” (I guess that means the mother of those two children whose life was unnecessarily cut short by Leyritz) anywhere else?

Leyritz is a punk (do you know who I am?) who doesn’t have one iota of decency. The guy was driving drunk for the zillionth time for GS when he beat one of too many lights during his drinking days. Bad call that leaves a bitter taste . . . . bad call . . . . no two ways about it.

This punk annoyed some of us fans when he stated on the tabloids that he deserved the first coach job over Tony Pena a few months ago. Did I say that was a bad call?

Bruce4Real

I’ve just got an education from Toiletbon.  I have always wondered what MLB owners did for fun or for a living and this Silence of the Lambs look alike gave me the answer and I’m willing to share that nugget of wisdom with you: they push pencils! Get a life you imbecile belly dancer wannabe.

Yankees balm trying to ease Hokies’ pain somewhat. All for a very good cause. Yanks and Hokies have a great game.

Bruce4Real

Hokies second baseman Matt Hacker about the Yankees/Virginia Tech game: "It was everything everybody wanted it to be," he said.

Kudos Yankees and Boss for a job well done.

Bruce4Real

What the Yankees did yesterday was GOOD. We knew going to Blacksburg was the right thing to do and the players for one day forgot about stats and goals and let their human side show they can be kind and truly great human beings and the Hokies players, fans and families were touched by it. The Yankees brought some of their magic with them and how magical that was! Food for the soul at its best.

For a day this fan was also touched and forgot about rivalries and pennant’s races and everything baseball and just felt great to be a Yankee fan. This was from the heart: The Yankees collective heart.

For 3 hours or so Blacksburg was a better place because the Yankees and their warm ambassadors spread some kindness around and were generous with their time and their genuine laughter filled the air. That was as good as it gets. The 32 beautiful fallen students and teachers are all in a better place now and our prayers go out to them and their families again as on that fateful date; hopefully their loved ones will speed up their overall recovery. The human soul (some literary license there) works in amazing ways. May that magic work fully.

Again a great day to be a Yankee player and fan. I’m proud of our Yankees and I’m proud of the Boss, who a couple of years ago said:” I wish I could have done more for the young people in the country.”  I think you have  . . .   Boss . . . .  I think you have.

YANKMEES = LOSERS

YANKMEE FANS = BIGGER LOSERS

Corrected

Joba is going to start the season in the role of a setup man for Mo. Joba says: "I have no preference, whatsoever. ... It's not about me, it's about the team."

Good deal Joba that’s how you help the team and in the process you become a better player and a better person (if that’s possible); you already are a fine person. Either way: with you as a starter or from the bullpen we have a great team and you make that possible.

Bruce4Real

Very interesting choice of words by george king. He says that Farnsworth cannot be trusted in the clutch.

The truth is if ANYBODY could be trusted in the clutch (whatever the definition of clutch you want to own, I guess the most popular one is What have you done for me lately?) we would have at least 6 more WS banners flying high at Yankee Stadium and that’s not the case.

This clutch misnomer applies to every player in the majors not just the Yankee players. One of our best clutch players in recent memory?  Scot Brosius. Just ask the stats guru Bill James how clutch Brosius was and you’ll learn something new and useful for a change.
