I'm still young and dumb sometimes, and sometimes that works for me," says Joba. "I don't try to do too much. I just try to attack the zone and be aggressive. I think I'm a little bit more experienced, but not necessarily smarter than last year."

C’mon don’t be hard on yourself, that’s where we loyal fans come in.

Stay the course dude.

Chalk another Team W, 100 more to go. Wang 2 is cool 20 (at least) more to go.

GOO YANKEES.

Bruce4Real

Way to go guys!  Way to go Moose!  Toe to toe with Gibson and Cone, not too shabby.

And the night also belongs to Attaboy Abreu  . . .  sorry about missing the cycle (there’ll be other chances no doubt).

So like the old Torre would say first let’s get to .500 then we can fine-tune this thing. One game over .500 let’s make it 2 today.Have a great road trip. Fear nobody underestimate nobody.

La Troy sorry about those b.(astards)oo birds. What do they know?

Chalk one more team WIN.  99 more to go.Stayed focused, eyes on the ball at all times, execute, cover each other’s backs, score early, relax and enjoy winning  . . . . One game at a time.

No discipline at the plate. No smart running of the bases. No intensity or focus. Not throwing first pitches for strikes. Not throwing strikes period.

The only signs of intense competition is in the race to break the golden sombrero's record.

We can't hit their YOUNG GUYS because we don’t know enough about their repertoire (whatever happened to SEE the BALL?) But they are hitting our YOUNG guys and the old ones PLENTY.  The “don’t throw to second” syndrome is taking hold of first base. A journeyman won’t sell his shirt number because it gives him “good luck”? Oh Yeah I like that one, very original.

Farnsworth has decided he knows why he doesn’t get people out but he’ll think about fixing those minor problems at a later time. The entire team seems to just go through the paces (this is like speed skating or Olympic oval cycling) these guys aren’t stupid they are waiting for Foston to make the first move then is Deja Vu.

Bruce4Real

It's still early in the season and some players think they have arrived so screw the team and team work. Giambi is the spin doctor on duty it's back to the days when Giambi was the man of the hour and the half-hour. If Damon would throw in the Bronx like he throws in KC and vice versa we’ll have a heck of an outfield.

The most forgotten and loneliest person in the world is the Yankee batter who reaches second or third base. Sorry man but you’ll have to find an alternate way to get home. These guys are not bringing anybody home and I mean nobody until the union gives them the OK or they get an extension for a lot more money from Hank. So you’re right why bother getting on base in the first place? It’s an exercise in futility.

Posada’s durable arm just turned brittle. Do you still want to test the FA waters? I think you should. But I know it won’t last very long How long can the flu symptoms persist do we have an active manager?

And so it goes but the operative word still is P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E and it will last until Hughes or Kennedy or both lose at least 10 games each. So patience it is.

I almost feel sorry for them because right now they look a bit embarrassed and they should but as soon as we start seeing that hot-dogging outside the dugout we’ll know they are beginning to put the ball in play.

Leadership anybody? How much more money? You need to talk to Hank. We’re just trying to put a few deals together to come up with the money for those hot tickets in the Bronx.

Bruce4Real

The best move Cashman made was re-signing Molina and he knows it.

It seems that we are far more concerned with a seamless transition of the guard than with winning games.

Bruce4Real

A very good game in KC: good pitching, timely hitting and the guys showed some willingness to try to win versus trying not to lose.

That’s what we need; let’s have some more of that winning attitude.
Bruce4Real

Let’s keep that sinker down. Foston is not playing better so let’s show them why we should be in the post-season with or without them.

Screw their tenth player; it’s all between you and their players and we like our chances against them. Let’s play efficiently, let’s dispatch them coolly and professionally, these are the games we need to win by playing errless baseball without being afraid of making mistakes, by executing every step of the way. That team is dead tired; take advantage of that.

Eyes on the ball at all times, if you make an error live with it, don’t compound errors by making a bad throw, stay disciplined at the plate, make their pitchers throw strikes, seeing the ball until it looks like in slow-mo, get to their relievers early and score early and often to ease Wang’s load. Cover each other’s back.

No more injuries please . . . play safe and enjoy the games. One game at a time.

Bruce4Real

This kid Buchhols has already won me over. He seems to be a really nice Texan. He says he grew up admiring Jeter welcome to the fandom. We wish you a great career with great victories, etc  . . etc  but not against the Yankees.

The question is would he be that nice if the sux weren’t dead tired?

No. Sorry,  nice try though . . . . we’re not New Yorkers for nothing.

We’re here to take care of business; don’t take it personal. It’s only business . . . . . .   Unfinished business.

Bruce4Real

What a downer . . . my favorite person in the sux organization that coward Lowell won’t be able to play. Of course he won’t play he got that extension (with the built-in discount); so let me see . . . . Who’s going to guard Manny’s back which in turn won’t be able to guard Ortiz and so forth and so on? And the team is tired too.  So both teams even at .500 this is going to be a long series . . . . I’m not complaining though . . . just don’t get any ideas Jason you will be playing at what?  Zillion times the minimum salary.

I have to give you credit; for a guy making over 20 Mil. to play baseball a game you must love you don’t complain that much . . . .  Fair is fair.  Just keep that short right field in mind . . . you’re on a walk off year  . . . do it for yourself.

Bruce4Real

That was a great outing by our Taiwanese ACE simply the winningest pitcher in professional baseball for the last two seasons and counting.

Intelligent, fierce competitor, immutable and serene demeanor and effective despite still being a young pitcher.

Back in November and December we said he was going to be a 20+ winner easily this season and nobody picked up the thought except for a few loyal intelligent Yankee fans. Now every tabloid is asking what’s different about Wang?   It’s not Wang  . . . . .  . .  it’s you stupid.

WE ALWAYS HAD AN ACE you just didn’t have your glasses on neither did Cashman I don’t care how he’s spinning this one, sorry man can’t tell the trees from the forest, something you became very adept at by dealing with the likes of Vasquez, Loaiza, Wright and Pavano to name a few. You could have built your village around you with all that money.

Bruce4Real

So back to the game although Wang was Wang the Yankees faced a pretty good young pitcher in Buchhols so it was again a team effort Abreu in right center specially (just kidding Bobby, you did ok, crap happens sometimes).

Molina continue to impress those who weren’t impressed already not only with his class, all out effort but also with his team spirit and humility. Did I say that was a great move Cashman?

Giambi reacted promptly by going to center field nonetheless!  Good deal Jason you can help the team really (notice I didn’t say you can still help the team) when your swing finds the ball is no contest.

This continues to be Melky’s team but it was a courageous team effort and we expect more of the same because number one you are a better team than the Sux and second because they’re still dead tired and it shows big time. All the spin in the world from the dancing mouse won’t change that.

Moose this is a new ball game this is not the 2007 Sux the bodies might be the same but the willpower is shot so strike the iron while is still hot.

Bruce4Real

Let’s update Wang’s corner:  Wang 3 Wins 19+ more to go.

The pride of Taiwan making his people, our team and fans P-R-O-U-D.

Hey Wang keep yourself busy and busier in between games to induce your sinker to sink even more or at least to keep it down.

Bruce4Real

Another team win. Let’s keep it that way and let’s get increasingly better and lethal.

We face Beckett who isn’t in top shape yet, let’s take advantage of that by continue to be patient at the plate and making him pay for his mistakes and force him to exit the game earlier. Execution and discipline guys.

Congrats to Gonzalez he seems to be as good as billed and he’s helping the team during this critical phase and that can only be good.

Let’s relax and be efficient today and show the sux fans why the sux didn’t want no part of us last post season; it wasn’t an accident.

Bruce4Real

Add the following words uttered by Mussina to the list of those famous last words, after being owned big time by his daddy Manny Ramirez:  “Whatever the strategy was, I didn’t make a good pitch.”

Gonzalez had a great game and he already made me forget about “what his name?

Bruce4Real

The more things change the more they remain the same; take Girardi and Mussina for instance the only thing missing was Mussina waving off Girardi as he readied himself to visit Mussina but I’m sure that’s next.

It brings to mind the pr/i/ck who altered his team path when they traveled to Colorado and Oakland last season (yes we have long memories, we just pretend we’re soft) which moves me to think: How wise is having this guy sitting next to Hughes and Kennedy when we know for sure he cares a lot more about himself than the uniform he wears (don’t listen to me just read about his Yankee history)? We know he cares a lot more about the Union but his team is another story, just ask Torre or anybody in the media. If there was a hall of fame for stubborn pitchers they would have retired his number by now.

Bruce4Real

Instead of Rodriguez watching the video of the HR he hit against Papelbon he should have just watched the video of Ramirez slapping Mussina twice last night and he would have noticed a world of difference. Find out for yourself and save the bucks and expenses of traveling to Japan or Tibet looking for the most elusive wise man in the world, everything you need to know is in that video (except for the grandstanding of course).
Bruce4Real

This game was winnable and I thought that either Gonzalez, Melky or Cano was going to win it for us. Lost chances. Now go and spin this crap out of orbit.  The only thing that makes you feel not so terrible about it is the fact that Santana is not faring better in the NL and you know he would have had his problems in the AL East. That doesn’t make me happy just makes me   . . . . .  more inclined to be P-A-T-I-E-N-T.  So patience it is.

We could have been way ahead by now but it is what it is. Did I say Molina was an absolute bargain for the Yankees?  A no brainer?  Did I say that already?

Bruce4Real

Matsuzaka is pitching today so be ready to have a few players hit by this guy as he has done (to the Yankees) in his previous games. Always a step ahead of us.  As I recall we’ve never got an answer as to who told Cashman that Okajima was not worthy of pitching in the majors?Another great move that moves you to tears (almost).

Who’s the wise guy who wrote that Posada lost weight coming to ST? That guy must be on the take; did you see Posada running last night? I did. He could make a great commercial for Time Warner Road Runner, no kidding.

Bruce4Real

No wonder the team is not disciplined at the plate. Listen to this genius Kevin Long about Alex: “It wasn’t like he was babying his swing,” Long said. “He was letting go. He was thinking damage. When he’s thinking damage, whatever the result, I’m fine with it.”

This sounds like the type of advice that Giambi once tried to convey to Alex via Sports Illustrated.

A 28 Mil. Bat should not go up there thinking damage, even a 14 mil. Bat should go up there and do damage PERIOD.

Bruce4Real

Anybody who’s worth his salt in baseball knows that when Alex swings for the fences he becomes a so-so hitter it’s only when he’s disciplined and stays back and just tries to make contact the ball travels to another county.  No wonder the team is going after pitches (way out of the strike zone) with abandon.

We’ll wait for Long’s strategy to start paying dividends, this is the offensive line-up that led the Majors with total runs scored last season NOT BY GOING AFTER PITCHES IN DESPERATION thinking DAMAGE. Is that part of the strategy trying to bring men home from second or third with no outs too? How did we miss that?  . . . . .  Shame on us . . . . . we should have at least guessed it.
