The lineup needs to trust themselves a lot more and stop paying attention to the tabloids and fans’ pros and cons; only their resolve and preparation and trusting each other at the plate or on the field will make a difference,  not listening to the likes of George  . . . . King or Wallace Matthews or Lupica or idiotic fans like me. All you have is each other and your talent and resolve make good use of it.

To finish at least in a decent place this year that Freddy Garcia contingency plan still looks good . . . . . if  Theo doesn’t act quicker.

Maybe going through these growing pains with the crown jewels will help Cashman show more appreciation for our quiet Ace Wang; I would say that Wang is a far better Ace than Cashman is a general manager hands down and that’s a fact not an insult.

Bruce4Real

As far as Joba is concerned listening to Wags would look like a good thing to do; as strong and talented as Joba is (and I think he truly loves the team) messing with his head is not fair or decent.

Play with other expensive toys Hank let this one blossom by himself  . . . . .  pretty please . . . . .  and the time to b.itch about Santana has lost his relevance and C.C. Sabathia will never help us against the sux . . .they own the big guy and probably short-circuited his brains too.
Bruce4Real

A nice WIN. The team carried Wang and the relievers did their job mostly but didn’t give the runs back and what matters is the end result the W which goes to Wang (18 more Wins to go).

The bats went into action and Giambi repaid Wang one of those old debts followed by the beautiful swings of Abreu ad Damon and the rest of the guys who got nicely on base Ensberg being one of them.

Joba was 90 pct Joba (which is VERY good enough) and Kyle and Bruney although they should have slowed things a bit were also effective.

Check that out Posada was very good behind the plate. Just like when we get after you after a poor loss we have to be happy with the results last night.

Now is Mussina against Vazquez my money is on the Moose. He’s going to need some runs guys.

All in all a well fought game. We wish Jason and Alex a speedy recovery.

Bruce4Real

A very good game Moose a very good game. Using whatever might be working is not something to feel bad about. Not if it gets you and the team the W.

The bats kept fighting particularly Posada a very good piece of hitting as well as Damon’s continued success at the plate. Great team work. Alex is missing from the lineup and the team beats one of the hottest pitchers in the Majors so far as well as a good hitting team  . . . . Not shabby at all. And Mariano with a great save. The only record that should matter is ours.

Keep it up guys  . . . . One game at a time.

Bruce4Real

There are going to be games like this one. What are you going to do? Move on to the next game.

Melki hit the ball out which was super cool but the ChiSox were better by not much but good enough to win. All I know is that Pierzynski  has a ball coming to his ribs next time we see him. You don’t screw around with our future which looks bright. Ozzie will thank us for it.

One thing we should learn from this game is that Ohlendorf didn’t slow his game when he was in trouble other than that it was a tough loss but nothing to be shameful about.  Let’s shake it off and have a good night rest.

Bruce4Real

Giambi found his swing and he seems to be on his way to be a force in the line-up and some of the other bats found gloves although there were some well hit balls. Another game of inches that we lost and we were bound to lose anyway and the sux keep losing those games  . . . . . by all means  . . . . . keep it up . . . . .  sux.

So the starters are healthy, some relievers have issues but we have some more relievers down in triple A, and thanks to some coaches’  myopia we sort of lost Scott Patterson momentarily but the rest of the bats are beginning to come alive. Could Cano be far behind?

BTW we haven’t seen much discipline at the plate. There must be a good reason for that.So what better way to soothe the pain of your loyal fans than to treat them to some wins at the required ratio to start a string of victories to catch the leaders in the League and while doing that keep the faith in each other and trust your abilities.

Again;  the sux lost again. Go for the comebacker one hit at a time.

Bruce4Real

Ian Kennedy says he’s trying to attack the hitters he’s facing and that he has done well in the bullpen but has been unable to translate those same results to the actual mound.

Joba told us long before Kennedy got here that Ian had electric stuff in the complete sense a finesse type of pitcher and some writers were suggesting Mussina while I was thinking Maddux without trying to take anything away from the Moose, after all Joba knows a thing or two about talent.

Bruce4Real

Ian says he knows what he’s got to do and my point is why not try it? Because the worst that could happen is he’s going to lose some games something that is already happening while being careful about the way he approaches hitters so what does he have to lose? Let your stuff fly, go for it. Contrary to any other mere mortals he knows he’s not going back to AA or AAA so why not take advantage of Hank’s weeks or months of predicted calm as far as negative results from some of the crown jewels is concerned?  I don’t think Hank is going to go back on his word regardless of what the media says (talk about men of their word, the NY media). This special offer is not going to last forever. So let the fun begin.  Just don’t try to be another Joba we already got the real deal and the real Hughes too we just want the real Ian Kennedy  the one with the fastball that locates well and the breaking stuff and the glorious change-up.

Let us fall in love with Huntington Beach and bring some Redondo, Marina Del Rey, Venice and San Pedro flavor to Yankee Stadium. Is that too much to ask  . . . . Trojan dude?

Bruce4Real

The NY media loves to talk about the 2007 ALDS and the Yanks early exit but these games have nothing to do with it.

This is the regular season guys and the Yankees did great in their regular season last year an almost heroic effort I would say so screw the media and the connection to the last ALDS this is just another series in which we can beat these guys. So it’s time for Alex and others to do their deed and give our pitchers the runs they need to get the W. put your game face on and execute, that’s all we ask.
Bruce4Real

First things first. We wish plate umpire Kerwin Danley a speedy and full recovery from that direct hit he took from Brad Penny’s pitch. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Kerwin and his family.

Larry Bowa wear that damn helmet . . . . Pretty please.

Bruce4Real

This guy Tyler Kepner for the Times has some nerve. I’ve been saying for months that the NY media doesn’t give a care about the Yankees, they do their best to make things difficult for the Yankee organization and when they report about how bad things are going for the Yankees they always end up by implying that someone’s job is in trouble unless the topic is about Mussina, what a coincidence.

Girardi has finally caught up to their game and has began to stop saying much about the state of his key pieces particularly at this point when things do not look promising thanks to the new team approach at the plate besides the fact that the reliable relief corps has taken some hits.

Bruce4Real

So this guy Kepner tells us that by Girardi hiding some “truths” from the reporters (I guess he means himself) he’s actually hiding things from the fans and THE FANS HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW . . . . WOW  A few more lines of that crap and I’m sure this would have turned into a test of the first amendment.

I can safely say I speak for a nice sector of true Yankee fans and my answer is: it’s all about winning STUPID not about the right you have to report what you thing is worth reporting or our pseudo-right to know. I don’t care how we get there I just want these guys WINNING GAMES and at the nice rates they are getting paid particularly after this show of hands during the off season when they held out for more money: I WANT TO SEE THEM WINNING GAMES AND GIVING US LESS BULL or their reasoning for losing games. Losing we can have at lesser rates those big bucks mean we want a better effort, more intensity, more guts and THE WILL TO WIN not the look on their faces that betrays INDECISION and the fear of losing.

Bruce4Real

One of the things I have noticed since the year 2001 is the wealth of information that Posada, and Giambi, and Damon after they came over and some other players including the old Duncan (I haven’t checked the new Duncan) that go out of their way to vent their quota of sound bytes speaking about what is working for them and what their approach is going to be at the plate as well as why their pitchers are doing well and I mean exactly what’s working for them and what’s not specially Posada who makes the job of opposing teams a lot easier when he’s doing the scouting for them. Case in point Kennedy. Since Kennedy has learned how to be open with the press we know for instance that opposing batter should expect the ball right down the middle and not on the black because he’s already made up his mind that it’s the way to go. So how come we don’t know what opposing pitchers are going to throw in such a simple and definitive manner as the Yankees hurlers do?

Now that would fall under the Yankee fans right to know and by gravity the right of the Yankee hitters to also know but that’s not the case and that’s surely the reason why our top priced hitters can’t see the damn ball when triple A opposing pitchers called up at the very last minute handcuff them and pack them for export to the land of losers every time a rookie faces them.

Bruce4Real

Posada has been flapping his mouth ever since he started catching our starters and the media and their right to print all those nuggets were happy to oblige the same applies to Girardi at the beginning of the season and only now he begins to realize that it was all a setup since most of these tabloids are Steinbrenners’ haters and Yankee haters as well.

Bruce4Real

When was the last time you saw Varitek giving all this information away just for the asking? Bulshiit. . . . .  I mean: NEVER or Jeter for that matter.

If Girardi wants to really protect his pitchers from defeat all he has to do is put a muzzle on Posada. He’s done enough damage with men on second base by getting rattled and losing effective communications with his pitchers already.

I still remember a game when he signaled Kyle to throw to first base the only problem was there was nobody covering first base and when the man went to second base he lost the guy on the next batter and afterwards he blamed Kyle for his shortcomings but said crap about his costly slip. So I didn’t find intriguing when he blurted to Girardi about Mussina: ”he’s got nothing” instead of “there is nothing wrong with him”  that was no mistake that was his true personality and then explaining that faux-pass as miscommunications. There was no miscommunication that was a crass act of stupidity at a crucial point in the game.

Bruce4Real

So if Girardi wants to tidy up his team: it’s about time. You owe the media NOTHING, they were all against you; they were all in Torre’s corner so stop trying to please the haters and the media and start managing the best way you can and surround yourself with very able coaches, coaches who would make you look good not look like an idiotic rookie and go with your gut feeling you got the fans on your side.  How do you know you have them on your side? No fans are asking for your head on a platter yet and they are not known for being patient. So be the best coach you can be (I don’t care if it is an old cliché ) without worrying about the media and without worrying period. They are your players, your slate, manage them the best way you know how and damn the media we need positive results  . . . . . .  at your earliest convenience. The sux keep giving you a helping hand use it.
Bruce4Real

Oh yeah I forgot we lost another game and except for Posada’s nice triple  the offense’s silence was defeaning. So I’m sure Kevin Long (“we’re lucky to have him” quickly who said that?) has a ready made plan to counter that. Could free earphones be far behind?

Bruce4Real

So we have another game against the Indians who spanked us around this series. This time is against the almighty Sabathia who the sux turned into a chicken and if we let him off the hook . . . . that . . . . that would be hard to forgive. This is our ACE we’re talking about this is a WIN we should have I don’t care who gets benched and who might be upset if he doesn’t play but this is a must win game kind of show your mettle kind of show us your love kind of do you have any pride? Take your time FOCUS let the ball travel farther, make this guy throw strikes (if I’m not mistaken he sort of lost the strike zone both against us and the sux last ALDS and ALCS) alter his rhythm, call time-outs often, protect the plate with two strikes on (if it gets to that) just put the ball in play he’ll provide the thunder and when you have him against the wall dissect him, single him to death until the scoreboard can no longer hold any more digits with the occasional HR and the occasional WP’s he’ll provide. Happy hunting.
Bruce4Real

Way to go sux  . . . . . . . . Keep losing . . . . . . The more the merrier.
Bruce4Real

Whew.   Posada’s out for a long time.  I felt out of like with Posada during the off season with his “What’s in it for ME? Attitude. And maybe he came to ST semi-hurt  . . . maybe not  . . . . . . but some of us were not happy (during the off season I mean) and maybe even thought that he didn’t take care of himself immersed more in the enjoying the richer bounties that his new contract brought about.  Off course all that is mere speculation and now you feel bad to have those thoughts crossed your mind but this generation of players has us conditioned to react that way . . . nothing is off limits with all those revelations from that report from one of the sux directors.

I remember how the sux nosedived in 2006 when Varitek went down; we can only hope that won’t happen  to the Yankees but after seeing Bruney going down on one of those silly accidents that happen in baseball every week; that gives you a sick feeling, like a punch in the stomach if you will and as a result the media jumps on Ohlendorf when the guys is thrown suddenly into the spotlight without any warning and he fails to react promptly to what’s happening before his very eyes. I think Ohlendorf will come around once he realizes he’s on a different stage and more is required of him . . . once a Princeton guy always a Princeton guy.
