That rich contract extension notwithstanding we of course wish Posada and Bruney a full recovery and in the words of Posada (not Belichick): It is what it is. So we’ll deal with it hopefully without Hank panicking.  Which brings up Cashman best move in the off season: Molina’s signing. I don’t think Cashman would have survived this current situation without Molina’s signing and you have to give Molina credit because he went about it in a very humble professional way because the Yankees to me looked like if they couldn’t care if they signed Molina or not maybe that was not the case (same way Cashman has dealt with our  . . . like it or not . . .ACE Wang) but that’s the way it looked and we’re immensely lucky to have him.

Let’s hope Molina plays it safe and screw those media writers who going forward will dissect  every throw by Molina and every at bat. As far as I’m concerned Molina can hit below the Mendoza line (which I know he won’t) or have a whole bunch of guys stealing on him (which I know it won’t happen) as long as he stays healthy and loyal to our colors (which I feel he will). Did I mention that was a great move by Cashman?

I was struck by Sabathia getting upset with Melki which I thought was funny since Melki’s HR stance looks routine compared to Manny’s on your face showboating or Ortiz every time they take Sabathia yard (it doesn’t matter since the sux OWN Sabathia . . . are you listening Hank? ) so get off your high horse Sabathia and take care of those clay cleats . . . you’re nothing but hot air. If the sux own you there is no reason why we shouldn't either and while we're at it PUNK next time show more respect for our Melki (Mr. Cabrera for you).
Bruce4Real

So Melki healed our request to provide Wang with the only run Wang would ever need since Wang was incredible against what the silly media called his tormentors (the Indians) SEE stupid NY media regular season here playoffs here I’ll say it again: regular season  . . . .  playoffs  . . .  two different animals . . . totally unrelated.

The rest of the bats were shamefully silent but Melki came thru and since we have maintained that this is a team sport we’ll live with that  . . . . . it was a team WIN and Wang’s fifth (17 more to go and it’s only April . . . sort of ) and paired with the sux losing again and since it’s probably more than that we have to give credit to those teams beating the sux just like we’ve been beaten by some teams this year more than losing, it doesn’t look as bad so far. But just for the record: Melki has won at least two games for us with his long ball flavor which means we have a few wins due to some long jacks by Cano too. I kind of expected that healthy friendly competition.

Girardi needs to start putting his own stamp on this team showing us some new ways of wining or getting the best of what he’s got in the roster although the Yankees haven’t been better than last year in terms of injuries (not by much) the results have been better (slightly better) than last year, we should be thankful the sux went sightseeing in Japan.  The Yankees need to provide the young studs with more technical support if they want these guys (namely Kennedy and Hughes) to pan out sooner. How? That’s your job you’re the owners, the GM that’s your job NOT PANICKING; we can do that for you for free.
Bruce4Real

Joba and Mo are incredibly good that you have to forgive us for not giving you enough credit but you’ve spoiled us. So we’ll say it as we should; Joba and Mo came through as they always do and that made the game outcome a fait accompli once Wang finished ahead by one run.

Nothing that a pair of singles or groundballs with eyes can’t cure.

That’s the beauty of teams that never give up they always find a way to win. Mussina claims he didn’t deserve that much the win but you take was given to you for all the other games you lost by inches. Great teams manufacture their own good luck and it’s then that breaks go their way not fair but true.

So we have another great win everybody contributed overall from Mussina to Mariano and Albaladejo Joba and Kyle in between, a very effective one-two-three-four-five punch.

And the lineup willed some balls into hits or mistakes for Cleveland and do you know what? Who cares? We came away with the win and now Moose is on his way to the 260th which will probably arrive sooner than later. This was another collective effort it wasn’t easy but you guys made it look well  . . . . Effortlessly.

We are hoping Alex can take care of those legs at the right rate so he can join in the fun at his convenience. Ensberg sounds very much the Yankee and his efforts and words are welcome It all boils down to trusting your abilities (you are major Leaguers are you not? That’s no accident, you’re here and you deserve to be here the rest is just execution and trusting the guy behind you and protecting or advancing the guy in front of you making those pitchers get into a high count in the earlier innings simple math really. Even Beckett can’t tip toe around that math.

Bruce4Real

You’re back in the Bronx make those guys at the stadium do their part by getting behind you and annoying the hell out of Detroit. Bear in mind that Leyland is always asking his pitchers to throw strikes against the Yanks let’s get a feel for those guys and see what they got if you sense indecision or weakness hit them hard and earlier and make it easy on our starters the rest will take care of itself.

Could this be the series when Cano will take off? I’m willing to bet it will.

Did I mention signing Molina was a great move?

Bruce4Real

On the other side of town the tabloids are trying to get Delgado in trouble. I remember many newspapers coming to Delgado’s side when he was accused of being anti-American but now that the guy is just exercising one of his alienable rights they turn his lack of action (in the dugout) into a niet-niet. Leave the guy alone he’s no frigging robot he’s a human being trying hard to last 162 frigging games, show some civility. I’m with you man screw those boo birds they’re probably transplanted Ohioans or West Virginians like that jerk whose picture in Mets Jersey the newspapers showed all over the world when the Mets were prevented from getting to the playoffs last year, the frigging guy was not even a New Yorker like most tabloid writers.

If it’s any consolation they even booed Beltran  . . .  the gall.

Bruce4Real

U-G-L-Y game and loss and there were enough reasons for that.
Bruce4Real

I think the outing by Hughes is one that cannot be entirely blamed on him. He couldn’t effectively communicate with his rookie catcher and the results were almost hilarious. And the bats where were they? Even Cano who with that beautiful 2 run homer failed miserably with the bases juiced. He connect he game is tied and Hughes is no longer that much of a question mark (still a question mark but with less intensity).

And I’m sure Kevin (we’re so lucky to have him) London was tickled that his pupils were doing at the plate he always is. Meantime the same crap surfaced NO FRIGGIN DICIPLINE AT THE PLATE; they couldn’t touch this geriatric hurler for nothing. And Rogers was smart he used the invisible stuff from South Carolina this time so no black residual effects to incriminate him.

Bruce4Real

Here we are at the end of April having played poorly and the sux are giving us the chance to play ball with them and we’re not taking advantage of that circumstance.

I still feel having hose two promising stars (they are still ahead of where Santana was at the same stage 8 or 9 years ago) still is plus in the long term context and next year they won’t have to locker next to Mussina there won’t be a Mussina no more.

I think the question is who was the short-sighted genius who let Moeller go? I got the feeling that either it was the same one who decided to leave Scot Patterson out of the final roster or it was Posada who was more worried about not making the DL (a fact of historical proportions) and lied to Girardi who has proven to be as gullible as Torre.

Bruce4Real

So you were playing at home and have the backing of the 10th player and you got kicked all over the place and Alex who was bussy during the off season jumping tall buildings couldn’t take care of his quads. Why would he? The money is already in the bank.

At least he has an excuse he was worried about his second daughter being born (I’m sure congratulations are in order) and he couldn’t decide on whether to name her Alexander or Alex sort of like Clemens and his KKK sons. Amazing how dense your mind can become when you have money to buy an entire zip code. I’m sure 13 Alex Way is no longer impossible to get ask Clemens how it is done. It can be arranged with the respective bronze life size statue at the entrance and the golden highlights of course.
Bruce4Real

As far as Posada is concerned this meekly “I got hurt”, “I’m sorry for the Yankees” is too lame compared with that defiant stance he took during the off season I wonder if he would be playing healthy at Shea? Everything is possible. He was a Yankee through and through but he wanted to test the market (English for what’s in it for me too? And I mean show me the frigging money) so you can stuff your apologies you’re no different from Sheffield (ouch!!).

Hank must be kicking himself for allowing Posada to play him like a cheap guitar. But it is what it is.

Bruce4Real

The question is I remember very clearly Hank saying that we were not going to panic if the young studs starting losing ten games in a row (I understood that to mean 10 games each) and I said fine let’s rock ‘n roll because you have to take a few steps backward to continue to go forward and with your ultra-luxury players hurt how can you blame the starters entirely when Cano and Giambi are also traveling along the interstate?

You have to talk to real baseball people and decide whether you want to throw everything away and later be exposed to ridicule by the media something as certain as death or do you want to stick to original strategy and let (and help) these would be wunderkinder blossom and rip the fruits for years to come.

It’s your call and I think you’ve already made that call. I think the only ones to benefit from the let’s win now approach regardless of the consequences to the team are Giambi, Mussina   . . . . .  and Pavano.

Bruce4Real

Losing Moeller still hurts and to think that this guy may now go to another team and not play with the same intensity and lose his spot and future chances to succeed at the Major League level who’s really to blame?

And I’m sure there are thousands of similar stories littering the pages of professional baseball. I’m sure that would have happened to Santana if whoever had the foresight of see in his makeup what the rest were missing none of us we would have enjoy watching him throw and appreciate his craft now.
Bruce4Real

When you see all these familiar faces going up and down the freeway every time some reliever or last minute replacement get hit or hurt all over the place is no longer pretty.

Get your act together and play with dignity and less spin, you can stick the spin.

SO if what is we’re out of it this year because as an entire team including the manager and general manager we don’t have it?  Is that good enough reason to throw away our future just to please some frigging know-it all tabloid writers? Hardly.

Bruce4Real

Let go of Igawa 40 million dollar expense, cut your loses and get what you can for him and swallow your pride, you screwed up big time and the longer he’s here the bigger problem he becomes. He’s great for triple A but not for the professional level of our league.

Get someone for him while our farm gets busy chugging out those cloned closers and starters and the occasional Gonzalez, Duncan, Tabathia and Jackson in between.
Bruce4Real

The stadium still is the hottest ticket in town and I know that doesn’t hurt either.

Let the tabloids sell their headlines our agenda doesn’t necessarily have to coincide with theirs.

BTW regarding that comment from Posada about the Yankees having 6 first basemen already: SCREW YOU TOO Jorgie . . . . . ungrateful son.

Did I mention that was an ugly game where the only redeeming factors were Ohlandorf and Cano’s two run HR?

Bruce4Real

We leave the best news for last: Joba’s father is out of the hospital. We are happy for Joba and his family and we wish them the best.

Bruce4Real

Showtime in the big apple. The tabloids are having fun with the Yankees and their decision to go with youth. Surprised? Hardly. When was the last time the media cared about the Yankees’ fate?

Now goes the call for panic moves; call-up a few starters from triple A and make a fool of yourselves by demoting Hughes and Kennedy and whomever come near those border stats prick Hank enough into making one of those rash statements and the fun is complete.
