Alright  . . . those two jewels continue to look fugazy but they still haven’t lost the required minimum number of games to panic (according to the current Yankee bible). So what are you going to do reinvent the wheel in a week? Get a life go write about the team you root for the sux. Feel free we know where you’re really at.

Evidently all these occurrences have made such an impact on Girardi’s plan but the way I read somewhere this was not going to be a rush job. It’s May (barely) and the competition is not out of sight (as I thought the Yankees would be by now) and MLB made sure the sux were not affected by their trip to Japan by prepearing for the Yankees a hell of road schedule one of the fiercest in MLB history so the Mitchell report vis-a-vis schedule was a quid pro quo nicely arranged. Fine is not fair but when was the last time Selig and his sux buddy were?

I don’t blame the kids these are nothing but growing pains and we said we the fans (NOT THE FRIGGING MEDIA) and the Yankee organization were going to be patient and see the results within reasonable time which is now defined as: “until the frigging kids are ready to kick a$$ and more mentally ready” than technically. Until then the process remains a process. If we deviate from that path we’re screwed big time and we might not be able to recover for some time.

Kevin Long is getting paid to do with the team what he apparently did with the same team last year after that tete-a-tete in Toronto making the batters patiently wait for the strikes to come across the plate and making contact because the team doesn’t seem to know the definition of strike zone and they are more than willing to expand that zone to their detriment and the joy of the opposing pitcher. So Kevin “we’re so lucky to have you” Long you have your work cut out for you.

Now the damage done by Jorgie “where is my money” Posada cannot be measured and that sissy “I’m so sorry” won’t do. Suffice to say that if and when he’s back in shape if the brass mandates this new mega millionaire goes to first base that’s where he’s going and screw the fact that he may not like it and if he doesn’t BENCH the bastard. The media loves you but we fans want to see some corrective future behavior and say what you mean and mean what you say type of philosophy.

I can’t stand the frigging grifters on this team (particularly when the team stinks if you notice, they want their money fine I want results) I want to see more Melkies and less Giambis. Sorry man but those 23 Mil. are just a monumental open sore that boggles the mind and when your swing for the fences connects is very good but when it doesn’t is pathetic.
Bruce4Real

So this all star lineup better start scoring runs from the beginning and when we’re behind, earn your frigging pay. Those currently hitting need not bother with this, those trying very hard without results try better by redefining your strike zone and taking more pitches and those who want to win every game with one swing this is for you STUPID. That’s not the Yankee way I don’t care how much damage you have in mind you look pathetic and are digging a hole for yourself.

There is still time to improve the fortunes of the team by reversing that self-centered behavior. Check the calendar it’s still May but that offer is only good for one month.

WINING 101.

So how do you get out of this mess? One game at a time. one inning at a time, one pitch at a time one station at a time, protecting the plate with two strikes on, by putting the ball in play particularly with the bases juiced, forget about where the other teams are forget about those horrible stats on the screen they don’t reflect who you truly are, you know who you are just apply yourself to bring out the better player in you like when you mesmerize people winning games with balls that barely go out of the infield leave Giambi in his eternal search for the perfect homer your job is to win games as a team and when you lose you won’t feel bad because you’re doing your best, race to first base every time you connect without hurting yourself  . . . .  The DL is full and closed for business, do without it.

Bruce4Real

When you don’t do your job then your pitchers have to try harder and they end up explaining to the media why they lost when they actually felt good on the mound they were trying to cover for the deficiencies of the offensive unit when it should be the other way around.

Hello . . . . there are more than 130 games to go . . . .  enough time to tweak the team and get accustomed to wining something Ian Kennedy will more than anybody else will need (getting accustomed to) so forget about those headlines the only thing that matters is our record and we have plenty of time to improve upon it. If you get in trouble or doubt yourself TAKE your time nowhere does it says you need to rush your pitches and again fear nothing but fear itself the tabloids are already giving you up for dead. Just throw your stuff for strikes and expand the zone then it will become automatic. Are you tipping off your pitches? Check with your coach everything is possible but one thing is certain you are a lot better than this record.

And for GS give the man his favorite jersey number the baseball gods are punishing us for that silly attitude. Jeter you’re the captain captain that, explain to that journeyman how baseball is practiced in this country.

Tell him to read that beautiful article by George Vecsey about that great moment in college softball history that occurred when a Western Oregon player hit a HR and couldn’t make it past first base. If it doesn’t teach him a thing or two about the ways of the game whether softball or baseball then he’s a lost cause. And you guys do yourself a favor a read the article on the Times by George Vecsey about that game between Western Oregon and Central Washington in college softball: I dare you to read it and keep your eyes dry. Easier said than done. I don’t need much prodding I’m sold on College softball and always will be.

I’d hate to be Wallace Mathews (“Timing of Hughes injury a little fishy” ) he zaw zomezin peculiar about the Yankees handling of Hughes and his diminished effectiveness this year and he thought that was peculiar. Yeah it’s called a fractured rib. Try yourself hugging your wife with one of those let alone pitch effectively at major league level. I’m sure he’ll find a way to spin this faux-pass and the same applies to the other tabloids that went after Hughes with gusto they wanted to ship the guy to 1½ A league if there was one.

I’m glad I held my tongue there was something amiss but not being that knowledgeable I just said nothing which was exactly what I did after Kennedy’s game. The kid needs to trust his stuff and improve on his mental toughness nobody else is going to do it for him but I’m sure he’ll find a way out of this hole.

Last night was a different game the Yankees handled with a steady hand towards that Win helped by the great efforts of Wang and the relief corps was untouchable. Mo and Joba were peerless but so where my guys (figure speech) Wang and Kyle technically and aesthetically perfect.

Bruce4Real

This continues to be Melki’s team (and Matsui this time); Gonzalez, Ensberg, Molina, Gonzalez and everybody else gave it a nice try. A very nice collective effort (Seattle mistakes notwithstanding) that proved to be the winning formula.

Rassner’s coming up again let’s wish him a long and healthy and effective stay (we need as much as he does).

And the tenth player was great too; that’s what I’m talking about! Let’s hear it for the New Yorkers who care about this team. Just like we feel your pain we can dig your excitement and that was an exciting game.

Bruce4Real

Our ACE Wang got his SIXTH Win (16 more to go).

Bruce4Real

The only record that matters is ours guys; there is plenty of time to advance on the standings NO NEED TO PANIC.

Let’s do it one game at a time.

Did I say signing Molina was a great move?

Bruce4Real

Jeter just passed Joe DiMaggio in the all time Yankees runs list. A very nice neighborhood. Congratulations captain.

Bruce4Real

Jeter just passed Joe DiMaggio also in the all time Yankees doubles list. A back to back achievement. Congratulations captain.

Great win for Moose who continues to chase that 260 mark and Damon has become his publicist in trying to harangue the media masses into thinking that the Moose deserves a place in the HOF because the Moose played in the “tough” AL East Division. I was going to say “what a croak” but Damon makes some sense so as long as Mussina stays “hot and Intelligent” I agree but let’s wait a while we need him to pitch the way he’s pitching (he’s turning into an effective pitcher by being prepared, aggressive and having confidence in his game) let’s enjoy it while it last and let’s hope it last the whole season and beyond I’m all for it.

Great game Moose and nice follow up by La Troy, Edwar Ramirez ( you were one pitch away from going back to triple A and who knows where else, you’re there to throw your stuff for strikes and finish them with your finesse pitches no need to go around batters go after them)  and Veras. Great job guys. SEE using all available personnel at hand (while resting the rest) all it takes is having full confidence in your roster   . . . . . it is there for a reason!

Good for you Girardi, that’s managing efficiently despite the current injury situation, no excuses just going for it clawing and grinding as you said. Whatever it takes to win while some of the big guns are healing.

Bruce4Real

Sorry Melki but this team is turning into Damon’s team now (with all the spin it entails OGAM) but I don’t mind the spin while he’s doing what he’s doing which is very close to what he was doing for the sux in 2004 using his own words: “what’s not to love?” Could Cano’s team be far behind?

So Damon’s staying on the groove and so is Matsui, Jeter is doing great (did I say he passed Joe D. in doubles? ) same goes for Abreu and Melki again.

Great collective effort one game in which the Offense altered their approach with good reason King Felix was on the mound which means you’ll see a lot of strikes and if you’re not sharp a lot of strikeouts, same situation we faced against Detroit in 2006 in the playoffs but we couldn’t adjust on the fly and lost. This was a nice war game to get ready for such eventuality in the coming playoffs or a similar future regular game-situation. Another nugget from Girardi and his batting coach probably. That’s what we are talking about focus at the plate and put pressure on the starters at times by being aggressive other times by forcing them to throw strikes. Great teams do that.

Excellent team effort and excellent series so far.

Bruce4Real

Now let’s greet Rassner by guarding his back with the necessary singles and doubles and what have you that will produce enough runs to get him the Win which will be our Win. You can do it one inning one hit at a time. Bear in mind that this Seattle team is prone to come up empty on defense so race to first after connecting without getting hurt. In other words play safe and enjoy the game. We’re still within striking distance let’s focus on our record pay no mind to the other stats  . . . . . only your effort matters.

C’mon Cano let’s start seeing the ball don’t think too much just react and trust your ability just like everybody else. You’ll be more effective in no time, we know that. Bases loaded the pitcher is in trouble not you, remember that, no need to do anything different there and you’ll be tested soon trust me.

Bruce4Real

R.I.P. raven beauty Eight Belles   . . . . .  and leap the sky in gallant flight  . . . . .  on moonless nights.

Thanks Chad Moeller for really helping the Yankee cause despite the evident case of management stupidity, thanks for wanting to come back to help this team. Our resident genius catcher is recovering from a bad case of nouveau riches.
