WE'RE WORKING ON A TEAM THAT WOULD BE THE ENVY OF MLB FOR THE NEXT SEVEN OR TEN YEARS THAT WAS THE IDEA AND WE'RE PERFECTLY CONTENT WITH THAT (FIRST TIME IN HISTORY THAT MANAGEMENT, OWNERSHIP AND FANDOM AGREE) SO LET'S HELP THE MOOSE HELP US BUT OTHER THAN THAT STAY THE COURSE AND PLAY BETTER EACH GAME WITHOUT THOSE UNDUE PRESSURES THAT CAUSE TEAMS TO DRAG THEIR FEET AT THE END OF THE SEASON.
GIVE IT YOUR BEST AND LIKE CANO SAYS (THE NEW SAGE ON THE TEAM) HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH.
THERE IS NO SHAME IN NOT HAVING A MONSTROUS YEAR WHEN YOU ARE DECIMATED BY INJURIES AND THE FUGAZIES DIDN'T PAN OUT AS EXPECTED BUT THEY ARE STILL PART OF THE BIG PICTURE.
SOME PLAYERS WOULD LOVE TO WIN THIS YEAR AT ALL COSTS (DAMN THE FUTURE OF THE ORGANIZATION) BECAUSE IT SUITS THEIR NEED TO HAVE A CHANCE TO GET A DECENT CONTRACT NEXT YEAR HERE OR SOMEWHERE ELSE BUT THAT'S YOUR CONCERN NOT OURS WE WANT TO WIN THE NEXT FIVE TO TEN YEARS AND THAT MY MEN TAKES PRIORITY OVER YOUR IMMEDIATE GOALS.
LET'S HOPE EVERYTHING IS DOABLE THOUGH.

USING THE ENTIRE ROSTER BECOMES NOW MORE IMPERATIVE SINCE IT KEEPS THE TEAM SOMEWHAT MORE RESTED AND EVERYBODY IS READY TO JUMP IN AND DO THEIR PART. KYLE HAS GIVEN A GOOD ACCOUNT OF HIMSELF (NO SURPRISES THERE) DESPITE THE WHINING TABLOIDS CALLING FOR HIS HEAD. AS I ALWAYS SAY SCREW THEM, THEY DON'T KNOW CRAP. BUT SO IS THE REST OF THE PEN INCLUDING RAMIREZ (I'M PLEASANTLY SCHOCKED) AND THAT CAN ONLY BE GOOD. ALEX AND CANO HAVE BEEN FLASHING SOME LEATHER LATELY CANO MORE THAN ALEX BUT IT'S SHEER BEAUTY ON THE FIELD. MATSUI SAMA IS HITTING THE BALL WHERE IS THROWN AND THEN SOME. ANDY'S EFFORTS WILL SURELY PAY OFF EVEN MORE GOING FORWARD HE SEEMED TO HAVE FOUND THE GROOVE. ALL IN ALL DESPITE WANG'S LOSS IT SEEMS TO INDICATE THAT THE TEAM IS COMING TO TERMS WITH THEIR DESIRE TO HAVE A GREAT SECOND HALF JUST LIKE THEY DID LAST YEAR. I'M ALL FOR IT.

IT IS WHAT IT IS. As sad as it’s the fact that we lost Wang for a long period of time this is no time to panic.
We have Andy and Mussina to lead the rotation and the rest of the guys to fill in. The bullpen is beginning to show signs of being tops. Damon says he’s just warming up and there is no reason to believe he is not. Cano says he’s about to turn the corner. So the rest of the team has to pitch in (sort of) to pick up the slack. As long as the rest of the team stays healthy and as much as I like Wang (easily his number one fan) this is not the end of the world. We have to just bite the bullet and play better; consistently better, cut the hot-dogging a bit and play better a bit more often. One game at a time.
I still think that the ones who are doing the panicking are the tabloids and my feelings for those guys are a matter of public record by now.
Just don’t try to overdo it and stay focused.

They came like thieves in the darkest night to take care of business (as far away from Queens as possible) thereby soiling the reputation of one of the most decent sons of Brooklyn, a quiet man who humbly exuded nothing but decency and character. Did these lowlifes wear tattoos and a dark mask? Or left a sinister black ornamented dagger with a jagged-edge to prove they meant business? Did they then phone Wilpon? and whisper: . . . . “It’s DONE.”
They couldn’t be New Yorkers because the New Yorkers I know have far more decency than that.

This was forced on me by the operatives of frigging Hillary Clinton since a day after I posted a comment on her statement implying that someone should take care of Obama before the final primary elections my PC started to wobble. I got it going again only to be the target of formidable and relentless attacks from those hackers (operatives) who know more than a thing or two about cybernet attacks and destroying PC’s hard drives directly or by proxy. The third day my PC was completely crippled and totally shut the next day. I said to myself this is what you get for worrying and caring for the welfare of who might become your next President. Small price to pay if you ask me. So much for the right to free speech and so much for Newsday privacy policies someone had to provide my internet address to these assh/oles and Newsday was the only operator in between (according to my experts) so frigging Hillary had a marker to call on Newsday? What else is new?You owe me more than $2,500.00 biitch.

As far as the Yankees is concerned I’ve followed your path and watched in amazement how the Moose has become the top pitcher he can be without changing much just by staying focused and knowing when to throw his stuff (which was always there), good for him. Same thing goes for Alex, Damon, Matsui and Abreu and the bullpen, which is fine because this still is a team sport. I hope the players know that just because one doesn’t go after them on a daily basis that doesn’t mean one has stopped caring . . . . . . You know that.

A brand new PC including a brand new monitor and all the anti everything money can buy (within reason). The question is should I just blame frigging Hillary or also frigging Microsoft for making a mega fortune by selling us a Beta product. Before I go whatever happened to Hillary and slick Bill and their $1,000 investment in Commodities turning into a fortune? What’s the Statute of Limitation on that. Most blatant case of fraud perpetraded in recent memory and she got away with it. They got the money to pay the would be related fines now.

"Contrary to some people's belief, baseball players are athletes, and running should be a part of their athletic endeavor," Girardi said. "I haven't seen [an injury while running the bases] happen to another pitcher. Oh but you have seen another pitcher: Bruney lose his footing on the grass while trying to cover first with the same results which makes it “TWO” freak accidents on the same team same year almost on a very short span. You tell me what are the odds of that happening on the same team same year to PITCHERS? That has to be endemic just like most of our pitchers last season suffering from pulled hamstrings injuries.

So I take issue with Girardi (the honeymoon may be almost over by now) that not only “should that be a part of their athletic endeavor” but can you tell us WHY that’s not a part of their daily practice? Igawa is known to run for hours and so is Matsuzaka. Better still why don’t we protect their precious feet (like they do in other professional sports) so they’ll be better prepared for uneven terrain or grassy terrain or wet terrain . . . or? . . . . You name it. Check BKB, Hockey, Soccer and Track and field . . . . . . search and you’ll find the answers. All I have seen so far is a style that can only be called REACTIVE as opposed to PROACTIVE . . . then . . . . smart guy tell me . . . . Why aren’t we prepared like the sucs seem to be every week instead of reacting to every headline on the usual tabloids or to every freak accident? Whatever happened to all that physical preparation during ST? Was that a ruse? Did we really know what we were doing?

On the other hand I do commend Joe for stopping the practice of telling the whole world who will be available to relieve on the next game, a practice that was well received by opposing coaches and while we are on the subject: Who’s paying Kimberly Jones salary? Because she makes sure she gets from either Molina or Moeller or Posada what pitches were working for the victorious pitcher on a given game. As a fan I don’t care what was working I just want them to continue winning games period. But if I were a coach coming to play the Yankees next series or next game that information would be valuable to me. Kim you’re cute and you’re not dumb and your smile is a work of art and you light up the screen when you’re on but help us here will you? Have you ever tried to ask Varitek the same question? Next time go ahead and do it for fun! You’ll never forget the answer . . . . guaranteed.

In my haste I forgot to congratulate Mariano for his current record and results (I was one of the fans who attacked him for demanding the Yankees show him the money) but also for the work he’s doing with the young hurlers in the roster. I stand corrected and I’m glad to see the tips and lessons are helping the team. The other player is Jason who seems to be on a grove I hope it would last well into the cold days of October. Cano is also showing some great defense and not letting his problems (momentary ones) at the plate affect his performance on the field. Kudos guys.
Mussina, Pettitte, Rassner, Joba are doing a very good job and when someone gets called up to give a helping hand during the next sans-Wang weeks or months the pen will be asked to overextend themselves and that could be accomplished by not doing anything unusual but staying within themselves and just focus even more on every pitch and every batter faced without putting undue pressure on themselves and trusting their stuff fully. They know what I mean.
Once you do that you let the chips fall where they may. There’s nothing more we could ask for, just an honest effort.

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics and their great season and CHAMPIONSHIP, not an easy task, it took some time but they brought that tittle back to their Boston fans.
So Boston is indeed for the time being the sports Capital of the World.
Here is to a job well done.

"I have nothing but the deepest feeling for Willie and his family," Jerry Manuel said. "I would hate to think anyone ever thought I would do anything to hurt that man." REALLY? If you ask me my gut feeling based on his reaction to being named Willie’s replacement and the way he immediately tried to outdistanced himself from Willie and immediately trying to project a tough guy image as an interim manager was: OH MAN THIS GUY IS DIRTY! He probably helped Willie destroy himself. I wonder who’s the one who told Willie about the Mets network plotting against him systematically and all those conversations behind Willie’s back. He acted like if he knew Willie was going down that midnight yet he told Willie nothing.

But what goes up must come down. He can fool us but he can’t fool the players and they will know he’s trying to portray them as villains in this melodrama “something he said he’s going to fix “unlike Willie”. The players will tell us if that’s the truth. Until that happens my gut feeling is “WE HAVE AN UGLY RAT IN FLUSHING”.

Omar on the other hand knew he was doing a lousy job and he planted moles in every square inch of Shea Stadium to be up to date as to what was cooking and he brought all those old vets friends of his from those other ZIP codes he used to operate from. Just like his predecessor he has systematically saturated the Mets roster with the wrong type of players, the sheer talent of some of the young players have carried the day on most games but that’s not enough. I have read about all those Mets fans not being happy with Willie but I’ve also heard about those who can’t stand Omar and sometimes I wonder if Wags first name is really Billy and not Guillermo. If the Mets continue to underperform he should be the next one to go and pronto rather than later. He brought shame to the Wilpons and the Mets organization that slate needs to be wiped clean.

Particularly when those making those judgments wished they’d make that kind of money. That’s human nature: jealousy, envy, the what about me? Syndrome.

All I know is that when Alex and Jeter are playing in sync that’s the most awesome sight baseball can ever convey to the rest of the sports world, nothing but majesty, professionalism, love for the Yankee uniform and poetry in motion IF NOT PERFECTION and most people would argue than point too heavily in their favor. Add that to the luster they bring to the sport and you have a couple of young professional players that can successfully play on any team specially on mine every day of the week and twice on weekends that’s how overrated they are. Did anybody mention Mariano or Joba too? Because Mariano is also overrated and Joba will soon be. That’s why I love this game and our team.

Igawa’s story is a sad one that doesn’t need to be.
The fact that the Yankees paid a ton of money to his team for the chance to acquire his arm to do battle for the Yankees is not igawa’s fault and it could have been even costlier. The Yankees were hard pressed to sign anybody after they lost Matsuzaka to the sux and we know that initially Theo was just screwing around with the Yankees and he never intended to sign Matsuzaka to a long term deal. But whatever happened happened and Matsuzaka is now a sux and we went after Igawa whose credentials weren’t bad coming to the U.S. I don’t remember anybody ever challenging those credentials the only thing some tabloids were daring to say at the time was: Igawa may turn out to be a fourth or fifth starter at the most. What the Yankees and Igawa need to do is to turn the page on that part that reminds everybody how much the Yankees paid for the right to talk to him and that should be easier than what everybody keeps saying if you take into consideration all those lemons the Yankees have acquired since the most recent dynasty days. $40 million here $30 million there and as politicians say before you know we’re talking about real money. But just like Matsuzaka bid didn’t cost the sux any penalties neither did Igawa’s and we can take it from there. Forget about the frigging bid for Igawa for a moment because if that was so onerous and insulting Cashman would have been gone by now and last time I checked he was still here as he should. |
