This is an overnight sensation but it seems more for real that it should. Granted their players are tremendously talented but inexperienced and their record on the road is not perfect, they have been able to inflict pain on this 2008 Yankees though I’m not so sure that would have happened with our 2007 lineup at least not that one-sided.

The key to this series (an important one since they lead the Division and we need to take them seriously) is their manager who happens to be the glue that not only brought them together, made them believe in themselves and not to show that much respect to the sux and the Yankees but has held them together so far. Maddon took the teachings from Scioscia and improve upon them and if we recall in all those series between the Angels and the Yanks the Angels always had an advantage over the Yankees and some us always thought that it was because Scioscia was a better (or more proactive) manager than Torre. So if we are going to be effective against the Rays we have to get into this guy’s head and anticipate his every move otherwise it will be like the old series were the Angels came on top most of the time and we have maintained that Girardi was different/or better Manager than Torre. Now it’s a good time to prove it.

On a night when Alex went 0 for 4 and Damon and Giambi were absent from the lineup (for different reasons) Pettite pitched a great game and Jeter stole the show both with his defense and with his bat. I’d like to add that Cano played an important role in that awesome play by Jeter similar to that awesome DP they executed a few games ago. Kudos to all. What that proves is that when a team comes to play everybody is a star particularly when they play to win and the results more often than not reflect that effort. The Rays seem for real and none more real than Kazmir (I have always said that the Yankees should have tried to land this southpaw some time ago but the suggestion fell on deaf ears) who had great stuff until he was touched by Jeter to start the winning sequence. If the Rays have staying power (some “scouts” claim they do) it’s going to be a fun filled rest of the season in the AL East and the beneficiaries will be the fans but our players are going to have to stay more focused and hungrier to stop being labeled as just “pretenders.” I’ll let you in on the worst kept secret in baseball: Pettitte always has a better second half. Could this be the year of Moose and Pettitte? I like my gut feeling on that subject.

What about them Cubs? When everybody was beginning to wonder if Pinella did a decent job in Tampa Bay the Cubs come and get Harden to make them better. That thug Zambrano and Harden on the same rotation? Now that’s something to write home about. I hope you’re watching closely Cashman so when the time comes you’re not going to let Theo play head games with you. Have you noticed how much interest Theo didn’t show for C.C. Sabathia? How much do you want to bet it had a lot to do with the Yankees not showing a great deal of interest in the former Cleveland piñata? We should be ready to go all out in 2009 (all that dead weight will be gone by then) . . . . . . . and you’ll be here.

Here is wishing Ryan Church a full recovery from his current symptoms and hoping that whatever is bothering him doesn’t turn out to be serious. It’s distressing to hear Minaya refer to their options as “our plan of attack” instead of “what it’s best for Ryan Church, the human being and player.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ryan. Ryan was a member of the Nevada Wolfpack together with our Darrel Rassner.

Another valiant effort by Ponson followed by a great performance from our relief corps on a very tight game . . . . against a pretty good team. You can say we gave them a run for their money. We need to play with this intensity in order to continue this path. Bobby Abreu saw his hard work paid off since his stats didn’t reflect the effort he was putting into it lately and he got us the Win with that great double . . .. . . . . still . . . it’s a team Win and it is always welcome. That’s all right . . . . Let a different player step up and pick up the team on any given day; it also means that fill in players are doing their job. A team playing as a team . . . . . that’s all we ask. Stay focused guys; plays safe at all times and never give up.

Media: “Joe what did you tell these guys that really woke them up and responded the way they have?” Joe: “That’s between me and my team.” Media: You must have said something to bring all that potential that was lost in those games prior to the meeting. Right? Joe: “well; that’s your opinion.”

During the off season he made it clear that he was all about ME and Money. He attacked the Yankees and even threaten to leave for another team (read Mets since the Dodgers were not going to spend that kind of money on this idiot regardless of how much he loved Torre). I still don’t know why he wasn’t let go.Most "loyal" sux players have tried to re-sign with them at a discount, this grifter was just the opposite he went out bit%ching about the team, about Cashman and the owners, trying to save Torre’s job in the process now he wants a break from Torre's replacement: Girardi. He got a lot more than he deserved from the Yankees and how did he repay the favor? By coming to camp unprepared and uncaring; he thought he really was the main prima-donna on the show. He’s not graceful, he suc/s at the plate with men on base, he suc/s when he’s catching with men on second base, he takes cheap shots at his pitchers, he betrays them, he only has two speeds: slow and slower and despite being a catcher he doesn’t know where the strike zone resides and he’s a hit or miss proposition at the plate at best and he can’t catch for shiit. He suc/ed big time at the beginning of the season, he lied to the organization about his fitness and readiness (that’s why Cashman looked like an idiot releasing and then getting Moeller back again), his arm is worse than last year and it’s probably because of his age and overuse and fatigue and he’s not a team member he just talks like the pretender he is.

Can we release this guy? Now it’s the time . . . . . before he screws our future stars beyond repair, I’m sure other teams need an idiot like this one and will claim him. Otherwise this is big trouble for Cashman, nothing but trouble and there goes our future; we’ll be stuck with this piece of crap for years and then just watch other teams go to the world series while we’re stuck with this idiot and with stupid at third base. Kiss our chances goodbye. They got their money now they are our problem but I don’t worry that much about stupid at third base but this frigging farce of a catcher is big trouble in waiting, this is a reckless malcontent who will not stop until he makes everybody’s life (with the help from those Yankee hating tabloids) beyond miserable take your losses now because there is not going to be a later, we’ll be stuck with this jerk for years to come . . . . . stop going soft on him. In corporate life there are people with potential, people you develop and watch them bloom and take your company to new heights and there are those you HAVE TO FIRE because they will bring your company down with them, this is one of those. He’s no frigging good. I used to take his side against Mussina because I didn’t realize how stupid and narcissist he was but he showed me his true colors this off season his greed has no limits. He’s all about himself and zero for the team. He said he might want to go to the Dodgers to spike the Yankees let him go to the frigging Dodgers let’s see if they'd take him.

I fret seeing this guy at the plate with men in scoring position you know the outcome before he grabs that sticky bat of his. Release this jerk . . . . The sooner the better, we’re not going anywhere this year anyway and we’ll do fine without him. Now I know why that construction worker hated this guy with a passion because he’s beginning to annoy me big time first with his greed and now with his selfishness. We have enough problems with stupid at third base let’s not compound the problem. I have said in previous occasions that we’ll be World Champions in spite of stupid but I’m not so sure we can overcome two of a kind. Release this ingrate before it’s too late because I don’t think he’s ever going to shut the hell up. Could you imagine Cashman if you wouldn’t have re-signed Molina? Grifter would have you by the balls big time and you thought things couldn’t get uglier . . . . . think again.

Throughout his half a$$ interviews with reporters Posada kept saying I don’t know. Ask him (meaning Girardi).
Why don’t you ask him instead of going through the media stupid?
He’s YOUR BOSS, not your equal, you oversized, overrated under talented has been.
This is the kind of crap the team doesn’t need now then he conveniently adds: I’m happy just being in the lineup. Pathetic phony. I truly wanted this guy to go to the Mets and the tabloids kept saying what a blow that was going to be for the Yankees . . . . Why I Am not surprised? Could you imagine those mutts when this parody of a catcher had the kind of year he’s having? They would have been mercilessly after his butt and not only them since this is a Mets town as far as the own tabloids is concerned. He should be happy and relieved he’s wearing pinstripes we tend to have more patience with idiots like him.
Can somebody please . . . . . release stupid no. 2? This is the year to do it. This guy is going to be nothing but trouble he has no intelligence and no common sense and no heart Torre took it with him when he left town.

Halladay was perfect, he was dominant. What a croak!!
You stunk at the plate and on the field . . . . more like it.
Joba would confirm what Mussina saw on the previous game that our resident stupid is already in top post season form going 0-4 and the would be catcher failed to react to a simple bunt after whining about not starting in the catching position both he and Betemit contributed to the unearned runs on a day when Joba had a great outing and nothing to show for. He struck out nine batters (in enemy territory) while Halladay only fanned 8 in his home turf in nine innings. Joba held his own while the team failed miserably, willing to kiss the hand that slapped them silly starting with the captain.

The truth is that Girardi has stunk so far as a manager. He has not shown the form he seemingly had when he managed the Marlins being no more involved in the game than Torre was before him and it shows in minor things like giving these green triple A players the green light on stealing when the guys just arrived and have not being able even to get on base at will as we were led to believe they would. Girardi is another one who feels he’s signed at perpetuity. That display of anger and acting as a disciplinarian was nothing but a show for the cameras and the tabloids he’s soft in the middle; all talk and no meaning.

He’s taking the “let’s be patient” edict from Hank way too seriously and I don’t understand his other motto “I hate to lose” since he seems to have embraced that concept fully. You’re nothing but talk and so is your hitting coach and so are your players (with the exception of Mariano, Joba, Mussina this year and the relief corps) A BUNCH OF LOSERS.

We’ve have seen enough; we got the proof. We know we’re not supposed to win it all this year because to expect that would be an insult to the Rays and the Sux but to lose on purpose because Georgy girl has a sissy arm and fast approaching the equivalent of baseball menopause is ridiculous. And Stupid still is immaterial to our team goals. He found his soul mate (read phony) and I’m waiting for crass which would be the other part of the package. You have no shame. The results are in: you are a bunch of losers and the onus is on the hitters who have stunk thus far. Matsui is out so there are no cojones left on the field or in the lineup. As far as I’m concerned I had it with you guys. You might as well just collect your checks and show up next year because that’s exactly what I’ll do maybe by then Cashman and Hank would have gotten rid of all the clowns and got us some real major Leaguers instead.
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | You’re as lifeless as your manager is phony when fighting the umpires (the umpires are practically laughing in his face when he’s throwing those well rehearsed tantrums) he’s the wrong man for the job we need someone to take this team to greatness he doesn’t even know how to spell it. | |
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | A team that relies on a fraud impersonating a major leaguer and charging upwards of $ 20 Mil. Just rallying on a clumsy swing and a moustache has to be a fraud. Because that would mean he’s incredibly stupid since not knowing the aerodynamics of that silly moustache prior to this season smacks me as sheer idiocy. That he wouldn’t know such an important tool would be essential in clutch situations prior to this moment is sheer stupidity or ignorance. Here’s a guy who taking part in the HR derby wouldn’t have hurt his swing one bit because that’s the only swing he has ever known, the one embraced by his hitting coach and passed on to new arrivals. The patients are running the asylum.
