L.A.Confidential Joe Torre is cruising down Sunset Boulevard with his new arrivées sipping Green Tea and Coronas respectively and he CAN’T wait for the Yankees to start dumping salaries so he can sandwich Manny between the material fool and the Giambino in his lineup . . . . . . . . . Which may not be farfetched. Hey Hank: LET’S PRINT SOME MORE MONEY. Who do they think you are?

Cashman may ask for Torre’s help to sell his new movie script: We Could Have Been Contenders To any of his avid Dodgers fans and movie producers in MALIBU or Burbank.

Manny could soon be able to hook you with Jane Fonda she’s loaded too. Last time I’ve heard she was still warm and breathing. Just don’t make her laugh in public . . . . . and if you do don’t stare at her legs or ankles . . . . . . She might not appreciate it.

Moose performed like an effective, intelligent, dedicated professional and in the process he provided us with another victory. Thank You Sir. One at a time does it: One inning at a time one out at a time. Just one more game to the 15th. You’ll get there in no time . . . . . . We know that. Steady as she goes now . . . . . Moooose.

We need to commend the incredible work performed all year and particularly these last few games by Bobby "Clutch" Abreu.
You’re one of a kind Bobby . . . . . keep on keeping on.

Maybe that great innovator (Girardi) might try to bat Bobby in the cleanup spot instead of the usual strike out artist to see how it goes; not doing that would be a way to hurt this team even more and the worst that could happen is Bobby will return to the third hole. It would also give the material fool the chance to congrat Bobby every time he hits a jack and not give the fans the wrong impression. As far as Bobby helping the material fool seeing all those many pitches is not helping much . . . . . . Is it? Besides you can pencil the X-man right after Bobby and ahead of the Giambino I think it may do more good than harm. Nothing else has worked so far.

The official number one Mets fan (lupicA) just said it: Beltran is not performing to expectations and he never had. Yours truly being a modest loyal Yankee fan came up with an instant reply: Does that mean Beltran is now available? Will Beltran be available soon? That would take a load off all the knowledgeable Mets’ fans and a chance for us to make a move and trade for Carlos (Beltran that is) who was born to be a Yankee. In my humble opinion nothing would make our team more complete than adding Carlos to our roster. I truly hope he stinks this year and he gets booed out of Flushing, Lupica leading the way, so we can get him at a discount or not and make those Mets happy again by making their problem ours. If I were Cashman and if I’d really care about my team I would have an expert working full time on this case exclusively and pounce at the right time. Carlos is a fine player but he’s been hurt by the Flushing fans so much that he would love to join us and we (if we are smart) would love to see him roaming center field for many years to come. I know we won’t regret it and screw the tabloids (again and again and again). On that note I wish Beltran a terrible rest of the season.

BACK AT THE RANCH . . . . . . . That was a great show of determination to do well, to fight back, to defend your home turf, to protect your pitcher, your teammates . . . . . . In essence to do everything possible to win by all available means. AWESOME effort. And the mistakes (the team goes: What mistakes? That’s what we’re talking about). Rassner shouldn’t even have to answer any questions about having a bad day . . . . We have said this is a team sport and if he had another 10 terrible outings during the rest of the way and the team would pull for him and win those games I’d have no problem with him being up there. The team’s main focus of their strategy must be to win regardless of the runs needed to achieve that goal. If we do that we’ll win more often than lose and that’s why we’re fighting for.
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | Some of us still think that the material fool should be batting third ahead of Bobby and the X-man should protect Bobby’s back until he cools down (if he does). This is not about who makes the most money (otherwise we’d be after you know who’s a$$) we know he’s a team player so it goes without saying that eventually he’ll get hot and start hitting all over the AL stadiums and when that happens he should be back at cleanup . . . . . Natürlich. | |

I remember when Sheffield went to Detroit and as a parting shot he said that the material fool was really upset with Torre for batting him out of the cleanup spot but the Material F never said anything . . . . . all the *****ing was done by the tabloids and used later to blame him in part for Torre’s demise (if you want to call mingling with the stars a demise (five and a half hours away, on average, from Hawaii) I truly believe he took it like a trooper, he knew he didn’t do that well against Detroit (neither did anybody else). So what do we have to lose? Bobby is red hot and so is the X-Man.

So much for Pudge being the “complete package” according to Girardi. A “Win-Win” situation according to Cashman. All I know is the pen hasn’t been the same since “we gladly rushed to get rid of Kyle in exchange for a sure future Hall of Famer” according to the tabloids. I said just watch how you’ll affect the delicate balance of the pen probably the most important unit of the team until that date. “We couldn’t say no to Pudge in an even exchange” (a view shared by 99% of the media with the exception of Davidoff) said the Yankee geniuses. I guess we couldn’t find another catcher in the whole frigging majors even if we had to give Cashman’s sister for the guy.

All I know is that in the old days after Pudge almost drilled Joba (the most important player in a very long long time in the Yankee organization) between the eyes Pudge would be playing for an unknown league somewhere near a shiity rural village in frigging Vieques. Oh Yeah that’s in P.R. BTW Joba didn’t feel comfortable all night long and I’m sure that had nothing to do with the heat. Frigging Pudge should learn there is no room for other top dogs in this town there is only one and that’s Joba.

In the last month and a half the starters began to make a come back, the offense fought (usually back) more often than gave up but the pen remain pristine. The tabloids repeated Girardi’s and Cashman’s mantra: “Marte will replace Farnsworth in every which way and we still come out ahead that’s why the Yankees have been going after him for a few years running”. I guess that grand slam was just a bleep in his frigging resume. That’s why I have always said the tabloids know crap and I have always been on the money: regular season or playoffs. They are all pretenders.

I was talking with a couple of medical professionals I trust, including one orthopedic surgeon and a sports doctor, about Joba. I asked them: Could Joba have been affected (his shoulder or arm actually) by trying to avoid being hit between the eyes by Pudge’s throw to second an action that took a little more than a second and they all agreed (although it’s hard to get straight answers from these guys) that whoever is saying that couldn’t possibly have a bearing on Joba getting hurt don’t know much about athletes muscles and overall anatomy . . . . Sort of same number of muscles and but a different type of size and fiber structure since these are fine tuned athletes just like thoroughbred race horses.

The answer: a few times. In my case probably more than a dozen and I’m not build like any of these players yet I had pulled muscles, sore muscles that bothered me sometimes for more than a week.

How many Yankee pitchers have hurt themselves; their throwing arm or a leg muscle by falling by the side while losing a footing on the mound during or after an offering? Plenty. You still don’t believe me check this: How many times have you read about or seen on tv baseball players hurting themselves on a check swing? Thank you.

What sticks in my mind is the fact that Joba clearly motioned to Pudge to throw to first but fuc/king pudge wanted to show the rookie who’s the one with the experience and the records and blatantly defiant threw through him taken Joba by surprise almost shocked Joba who ducked for his life sort of speak in the next instant. The question is what comes first for this has been? The team or his ego? And someone needs to remind him that Joba is the team. Despite that great arm of his people are running on him even doing summersaults in the process. |
