Mitchell says on a Boston Globe article that he’s not currently on the sux board of directors and he won’t be (sort of leave of absence) until “this is over”. I never saw anybody report that piece of news before. He acknowledges that most of the information he dealt with sort of fell on his desk and didn’t try to actively investigate every single team as we all know and he says he knows there are many other players who cheated and whose names are not on the report. That was not initially reported. So the media notion that the steroids cheaters were concentrated in the Bronx is false.
If that’s the case tough luck for the Yankees and bad timing for Clemens whose head will now surely start to shrink (part of that Cushing syndrome).
Somehow “it is what it is”. Let’s learn to live with it and turn the page.
Still those sux names missing will be hard to swallow but one will try.

As far as I’m concerned if Andy says he took that crap to heal then that’s good enough for me. Lupica says said the Mitchell report is the bible of steroids abuse in professional baseball I said he’s lying.
When you’re finished reading the Northern Ireland Peace Treaty why don’t you contact one of Mitchell’s staffers and get the parameters of his investigation right this time (you don’t rate enough to talk to him directly I know).
I’m still waiting for you to answer that charge from that other tabloid sportswriter who said a couple of months ago you didn’t have the guts nor the credentials to call the Mets spineless, you were not man enough. That clock stopped ticking neons ago.

It’s those frigging tabloids that make me obnoxious. They keep representing this report as the most thorough paper on the steroids subject covering all of professional baseball which clearly is not the case.
One final thought, if the Yankees and the sux had met in the 2007 ALCS would Mitchell (ok Mitchell’s staffers) have leaked the names of Clemens and Pettitte strategically before a crucial game? What do you think Lupica? Think hard before you answer that one you fool.

What gets lost in this enhancing-substance abuse circus is a very sad fact: the players and their offspring welfare.
Not enough has been documented on the risks to one’s health, which would move to tears even the most greedy parents that see $$ signs all over their sons when risking everything to provide them with “all they need to succeed in their sports (more so in football than in baseball)”. If these people knew a bit more about science than they do now (or a lot more) they would think twice before going ahead and helping their children obtain the status they aspire to in sports at HS level or College.
They are trying to fool Mother Nature when dealing with steroids and hormones. They actually are competing with our own glands and enzymes, incredibly powerful substances that fantastically and accurately regulate our bodies’ metabolism through the brain, internal glands and other major organs. They are messing with their immune system. The bodies of normal persons (a miracle in itself) are so perfectly tuned for so many years that people take for granted that they will always be there unchanged. That’s not the case at all. You screw with that delicate balance and you’ll pay for it. Dearly. Later.

Instead of trying to play judge and jury some of our brilliant sportswriters should dig a bit more about the known health consequences and potential new ones that could fall upon future athletes that don’t hesitate before trying to use that extra edge to excel in their respective sport.
Maybe MLB should invite some of those former East German athletes who look nothing like normal human beings to share their history with these future stars and open their eyes wide open or cry.
Fooling with Mother Nature in this case is utterly stupid and never cool. If you’re an athlete specially a young lady think about the consequences that could fall upon your future offspring since not enough has been fully researched on the subject and professional athletes always say “I cherish the precious moments I spend with my family”.
Do you really care enough about your family? Enough to stop abusing your body and theirs?

WADA is showing its ugly side going after Andy Pettitte and it has the potential to ruin anything that MLB might be trying to accomplish not by going after Pettitte whom they must consider an easy prey (WADA‘s usual MO) but because most WADA officials are always thinking so high of themselves and so little of the athletes they oversee or think they do. They have been involved in polemics, headlines grabbing and pissing contests since ever and they have interfered with the Olympic Games, Cycling and other sports ever since I can remember. WADA was formed as the policing arm of one of the most devoid of integrity organizations in the world: the International Olympic Committee nothing but a bunch of grifters and free loaders and since they control the careers of future professional stars they consider themselves all powerful and mighty and love to rub those athletes the wrong way. Ask Lance Armstrong about them (not exactly a saint I know but he knows them well) he’ll be able to tell you how high they stink.

Let’s hope MLB doesn’t yield their authority to that of WADA and let someone else take care of the independent testing because I see a nightmare going forward between WADA and the Players Union and we need to move forward in a peaceful manner definitively building on the recent findings but not taking any steps sideways as it would amount to if we let WADA headed by a Canadian who hates the U.S. with a passion and who would like nothing better than to destroy our national pastime (since theirs is almost non existing) to run the testing of our baseball players in a dictatorial way.
Remember Bud haste makes waste and that’s what you’ll get if you let WADA dictate your every move. In essence you’ll be helping their agenda by providing the funds (the funds they either can’t commit or don’t want to because there has to be enough money to spread among themselves) and the minds to facilitate the finding of better ways of testing against HGH or other future drugs but you don’t want someone else to come and start messing with our sport and give the players Union an excuse to stop cooperating (in the small manner they are) and pull their weight to torpedo whatever gains you may obtain in the short run. Don’t just jump into this exercise; do it knowing exactly what you’re doing.

It pains me to learn that a not so well known juicer like the sux Donnelly is living a nightmare and he hasn’t slept ever since been named on the mother of all reports.
To ease his pain I offer these kind words which have always worked for great wise men like Sheffield, Canseco, Manny, Schilling, Millard, Varitek: “little grasshopper try Ambien in 10 or 5 mg tablets but my dear friend make sure you get a prescription from a doctor not a dentist this time” now go on your way . . . . . OOMMMMM

admission against interest is an admission of the truth of a fact by any person, but especially by the parties to a lawsuit, when a statement obviously would do that person harm, be embarrassing, or be against his/her personal or business interests. Another party can quote in court an admission against interest even though it is only hearsay.

hearsay second-hand evidence in which the witness is not telling what he/she knows personally, but what others have said to him/her.

Every Yankee free agent is back and the Yankee fans should feel good about it. Some critics will say that the Yankees overpaid as always but these are the same critics who said the Yankees were doomed since they saw Posada and Mariano not signing with the Yanks to “protest” their treatment of Torre. Torre who?
Others said the Yankees were not going to be able to replace Arod production at third base and they had to come up with the big bucks to sign him only to write later on that Arod took the Yankees for a ride. I’ve always said everybody is expendable and if any of those players wanted to go elsewhere let them go. The only player I kept saying I felt it was going to come back and help us was Andy. They all came back and I’m happy for it. At least that gives us as good a team as last year and I truly feel that Giambi is going to have a very good year because he’s on his walk year and that works like clockwork (with few exceptions). Did the Yankees overpay? Hank says he’s okay with those numbers and ultimately is their money (his and the other partners&rsquo

I said I’m glad they all back and who knows we may still land a couple of surprises because I don’t think the Yankees are happy with the cards they were dealt in this recent Roids and HGH report and might want to hit back by signing a couple of proven contributors whether on the mound or at the plate (he bats right handed) and you won’t hear any complaints from us ticket paying fans. It’s time to write some new chapters in the history of this wonderful franchise.
America’s only constant is baseball and the Yankees are baseball, always were always will be despite some detours on our recent path we’ll set the sights right again and will go for another try, AGAIN. All the haters be damned.

Pretty pretty soon the tabloids are going to go work on Arod about him not being clutch. There is no such a thing as “CLUTCH”. Ask Sean Casey; he’ll tell you. Who are you going to believe Casey and other baseball person like Billy Beane or a tabloid nerd who never played the game.
Clutch is what you make of it. Those clutch experts continue to judge players by their batting average regardless of where they bat in the order. Incredibly un-scientific garbage. It’s only this season that they began to pay more attention to other stats like OBP and OBPS following the lead of people who are the best at following the sport and writing about it. We know who they are.

So Arod enjoy your money and your desire to play for the Yankees because you will for a long long time and I think that’s another good thing, just stay healthy and take good care of yourself. Your talent is undeniably there and so is your work ethics. Take good care of your family including your mom without whom none of this would ever have been possible.
I remember a quote from Livian Hernandez when he won the first World Series for the Marlins while being the enfant terrible of baseball. He said you think I’m good? My brother in Cuba is a lot better, no wonder they call him El Duque, he’s royalty and so is my mom, in my eyes she’s a real Queen and when she gets here I’ll buy a castle for her, she deserves it.”
Would you think any less of your mom? I doubt it. It’s never too late to say thanks MOM and mean it.

So welcome back guys welcome back ALEX just like there once was a Mike there is now an ALEX. Stop wasting your time with the tabloids about being clutch or choking in the clutch all that garbage means nothing to real fans. You’ve have shown you can carry this team over 160 games which all the tabloids always doubted before (their call). According to the high priest of baseball that what matters being able to sustain that pace over an entire season. The postseason is a crapshoot (and everybody but absolutely everybody in the media agreed to it this past season). The occasion: they were trying to force the Yankees into resigning Torre and they said: “we all know the post season is a crapshoot”. There you have it, in PRINT. The new bible of baseball, as it should be.

The WS titles will come and you’ll be a part of it, guaranteed. Why? Because the Yankees always try to put the best team on the field and sooner than later (and whether you get the flu or go on a slump, someone else will take over for a few days and will deliver the rings next time it’ll be your turn and the tabloids will put your name up there with the best just like they did this season), this is a team effort 24/7 for 162 games and beyond and IT DOESN’T MATTER who gets the job done as long as it gets done.
The rings will come you can bet on that just don’t say more than you need to. Talk volumes with your bat and your glove. We know you will and the team will follow.
And yes we know you and Jeets are no longer that close. That was taken care of last season.
And don’t try to hit for the whole team just relax, stay within your sphere and enjoy the game. No more too much thinking just stay back let the ball travel see it and react.

We think Joe will do a great job, nothing fancy; with this team you don’t need to. Steady as she goes. The tabloids will go after you. Big deal, ignore them they will always second guess you, nothing personal, we won’t. Your best is what we need, just do your best. We need a team that will consistently believe in itself where everybody contributes and is willing to do his part. If everybody does, there will be more good days than bad ones. We’ll lose some games: that’s baseball; we’ll lose games by a ton of runs: that’s also baseball BUT we’ll win more often than not and we’ll win a ton of games because we’ll play to win: that’s Yankee baseball. Good luck Joe we’ll have your back every step of the way.

Curt the windbag has spoken again. But not to offer some new insights into his “ultra-pure HGH and steroid less sux but to call attention to himself. This call about Clemens surrendering his awards is nothing but grandstanding. He says: If these allegations are true then Clemens and others let us all down with far greater implications” ? I could have said: “If those allegations are true”. He’s an insider who claims to be highly intelligent if he’s really intelligent and a man of integrity then it goes without saying that one of two things really happened.
Either the sux are really a squeaky clean club (probably the only one in MLB) and nothing really happened during his watch in Foston, or
He’s full of it, because according to Canseco and Mitchell (he fully supports Canseco’s allegations and has respect for the latter) the steroids business took place in the open with the culprits not having any respect for those (those few according to Canseco) who were not in the business of injecting others or being injected themselves. He had a chance to say something once and chose instead to say nothing. |
