So Kennedy was shipped back to triple A    . . . .      so maybe he did believe that crap he told the press, there is no other reason maybe this way is better and he’ll learn what he has to learn in order to help the team in the near future at least he told the media that much upon learning he was going back to Scranton    . . . . . . .    this frigging guy is a trip.

I hope he learns what he needs to learn to become an effective starter even if it takes him a lot longer to convey his thoughts in a positive manner  . . . . .   although in all fairness he never pretended to be a great thinker.

Bruce4Real

Kennedy also said: “I’ve showed flashes of what I can do.”  “I know that I can do it. It’s just adjusting. That’s what a lot of rookies have problems doing. Joba’s fantastic; he’s just a different story, a different animal. But a lot of guys go through this.”
Bruce4Real

All that is very true and also applies to Hughes and sounds more like the real Kennedy, the one Joba spoke glowingly about and I take Joba’s opinion seriously.  Truth is despite the talk Kennedy may not even know he has what it takes to succeed in the majors and that’s when experts come into play to help him for the greater good.

We’ll keep at least a neutral stand as to what he could do hoping he can solve all those technical issues and wishing he can keep his feet on the ground while going at it. He’s right on one thing He’s ahead of Santana when both were at the same level after being signed by their teams. Look at Karstens and we said that admiringly why can’t Kennedy be as effective? Baseball is a humbling experience   . . . . . .    Let’s give him a break and protect him in the near future from the “friendly” NY media. We wish him all the luck he will need. Joba said he was the real deal, we can’t say he’s not   . . . . .   at least not yet.

Did I mention Cashman screw up big time with that no-brainer deal for Pudge?  Wear a wig, a fake stache, color your hair, wear elevated shoes, put on some extra weight, wear a topcoat  in summer dark glasses    . . . . .    or simply   . . . . . .   Get out of town man!

Ponson goes up tonight and he’ll surely give the Yankees another valiant effort and the team needs to give a good account of themselves against the Twins hurler.

Stay disciplined at the plate and eyes on the ball at all times. Don’t put any extra pressure on yourselves.  Just execute, see the ball and react, don’t go up there thinking HR just put the ball in play if everybody does that we’ll be okay. Tonight is a different game. You can only control your at bat last series is gone and forgotten. Give yourselves and your pitcher a chance to win    . . . . .    one inning at a time.

Bruce4Real

Ponson had a great outing and to his credit he didn’t throw the team under the bus as it was his right; he did just the opposite Kudos to Sid. Sorry Ponson that’s baseball but   . . . . . .    keep it up you’re okay in my books.

I wasn’t going to say anything about Girardi benching Damon in favor of Christian I said to myself what the heck he tried something different and he lost but at least he was trying    . . . . . .   then I read a quote from Christian about the game: “Almost every at-bat I had, I was two strikes out of the gate,” Christian said. “He threw a bunch of fastballs, but he also mixed in a bunch of changeups to keep hitters off balance. Last time at Yankee Stadium, we didn’t miss too many of his fastballs.”

I was annoyed about this “Almost every at-bat I had, I was two strikes out of the gate,” bit.

Yeah it’s called doing his job just as you should be doing yours BEING PATIENT AT THE PLATE AND THEN FIGHTING THE DAMN PITCHER WITH TWO STRIKES ON YOU   . . . . . . .    that’s how you get on base and then you can do your circus routine.  That’s the only reason you are up here mister. You sounded almost like your brother Gardner. Did you come up with that on your own or was that the result of your hitting instructor’s teachings as I suspect?

It’s called being disciplined and judging from your lethal bat current damage it seems it’s the only way you can get on base. The only thing you seem to be doing right is the way you shorten your batting stance. Short to the ball long in the follow through. At least don’t change one of the things going for you.

Bruce4Real

I was going to leave it at that but then I remembered that Christian went up hard against the wall in left field and he didn’t seem to be that much hurt by him crashing into the wall  BUT  what it this was Damon?  Maybe Girardi save one key player from harm by not playing Damon last night   . . . .   I guess we’ll never know but I have to choose on Damon not getting hurt again (while at the same time I was glad Christian seemed to be ok).

The team is doing the right talk overall  and if what you’re saying is true then just keep on grinding something good is bound to come out of it.

I think guys are trying too hard to win games with one swing instead of putting the ball in play or start a rally and that is probably why you are getting not so good at bringing those guys who are in scoring position.  Just relax up there and don’t think too much just let the ball travel farther down and then pounce on the pitcher’s mistake and fight those pitchers with two strikes on you. Being also down by two outs is irrelevant; if you’re going to beat a guy the whole team could bat around with two outs      . . . . . .    you’ve done it before. It’s just so happen that you’re on panic mode and therefore maybe you’re trying TOO HARD.

Bruce4Real

Even the X-Man seems to have contracted this virus and there he was trying to defend himself after the loss to the Twins when he has nothing to worry about or change. The hits will fall the runs will score just keep on doing your job the way you know how.  It’s a team effort.

Besides   . . . . .    the curse still is on Cashman he’s the one who altered the makeup of this team needlessly.  Now that has affected the rhythm of the whole team     . . . . .    it always does. Get us the starter we need    . . . . .   you idiot!

Now just to prove our point      . . . . . .    Even if Detroit offered to give back Farnsworth it wouldn’t work again, that’s the way things go. You had a great thing going the pen was in sync giving you the chance to focus on other areas to make the team better   . . . . . . .     now you don’t even have that. You couldn’t pass up a so called bargain!  What is it about that you still don’t understand stupid?

Bruce4Real

The tabloids reported A-rod was trying to urge his teammates to play better and more focused by saying every game now is like a playoff game and they also report Damon disagreeing with that assessment while also urging his fellow players to try to play better because there is still time left to make the playoffs.  I have no problem with either assessment and I like the fact that they are not silent about it.  They don’t have to agree ad verbatim as long as they agree they want to do better and to play hard enough to make the cut.  All that is a good sign   . . . . . . .    that this team is not going down quietly.

Bruce4Real

Now is Mussina’s turn to have a good game. All that talk about the pressure being on the Moose is NON-SENSE  . . . . .  not when because of the Moose the team still has a mathematical fighting chance.  The team has a brand new game to prove they are serious when they say they hate to lose when they say they know they are better than what the record shows.  Go ahead and beat this guy tonight and show your mettle ONE to NINE.

Easy does it Moose one inning at a time, one game at a time.

Bruce4Real

Eyes on the ball at all times guys, be patient at the plate, protect the plate with two strikes on you, get on base, advance the runner ahead trust the batter behind you, bring the guy in scoring position home.

Play safe and enjoy the game.

Bruce4Real

It is my honor to congratulate Joe Nathan for donating a substantial sum to this Alma Matter to help build a new baseball field. Here it’s to you Joe Nathan    . . . . .   The Pride of Stony Brook.
Bruce4Real

That HR by the $28 Mil. man (and change) came a dollar short and a few innings too late. Sorry man.  Hank loved it but you don’t fool us fans.

After the team failed Mussina miserably (with the exception of Nady, Damon and that great at bat by Molina) and this time is very hard to stomach that old cliché “the team comes first” I give all the credit in the world to Mussina for staying in control and praising the team for the 64th Win. A pyrrhic victory in my view.

Bruce4Real

You did great Moose and you acted honorably and matured and intelligent. You’re a far better man than I am. I wish I could have been the one holding the bat with men in scoring position. Heart and guts and determination I have plenty of that you could have counted on (I would still be fighting that frigging pitcher with two strikes on me I swear).
Bruce4Real

Christian should take a look at that at bat by Molina. If you had at least half that determination at the plate you might be helping your team instead a trying your hand at becoming another spin artist.
Bruce4Real

How do you think the B.S artists on this team took your proclamation (the latest one that is) Hank? They fell in love with you.  OH THOSE  . . . .     Injuries   . . . .  . . .    Yeah man! That’s right said Melky and Cano while high fiving each other. “I had a couple of bruises said “G”, “my arm felt kind of weak”  said Damon “talk about injuries” interrupted Pavano.  That’s what it was man. “With men in scoring position my knees go weak” said the material fool “I know the feeling said Cano and “G” it’s probably of a muscular nature. You’re the most popular owner in MLB. Thanks for clarifying that for us.

No worries we’ll just wait for the 2009 season another year another charade. I wonder if we’ll get another proclamation from Lupica like the one from last year when he called us “one of a kind fans” that I have to agree on. Either the most loyal fans on the face of this planet or the most stupid ones. To tell you the truth there is not that much difference. Let’s keep on making these guys richer until they sell the team that is.
Bruce4Real

Let the other shoe drop: Cashman is in line now to win the “General Manager of the year, if it wasn’t for all the injuries, award.”
