Pudge goes: “What injuries? “What about making a run for the Division Title?”  That’s why I came here for. I’m in a walk off year. “Shiit!” “I don’t want to hear this kind of talk” “That’s for losers” “what about grinding it out?” Sorry Pudge wrong year. Cashman and your wonderful trade took the air out of the tires. This is a trip to nowhere.   The team already showed us their mettle and we don’t like what we saw.
Bruce4Real

Wouldn’t it be something if Pavano came and rescued the team? Hank pay the man he earned his keep despite all those horrendous injuries.
Bruce4Real

The Rays and the Sux can now fight it out happy in the knowledge they did not have significant injuries they can speak of. The loss of Many? That was just a speck on the windshield. Drive away guys.

7-year-old Yang Peiyi of China the “ugly duckling” of the current Olympic Games will surely grow to be a beautiful person and woman as it’s often the case.

I bet the jerk who declared her unfit to represent China in the opening ceremonies is really ugly like shiit himself and he won’t change that.

The real coup would be to capture this jerk in living color for the whole world to see.

Quote of the day: ''At some point,'' Francona,  the Red Sox manager said, ''you're thinking about going for a field goal.''
Bruce4Real

The Sux were up 10-0 against the Rangers in the first inning. By the sixth the score was 15-14 Rangers.  If those were our Yankees that would have been the final score and the after the game comments from Damon, “G”, Cano, Pudge, A-rod and other tough guys including probably Christian and GIRARDI of course would have been: “Well you know we’re playing without Manny”, Hank would have said “Look at all those injuries: “that’s not fiction” Another loss another excuse (“not that we are using that as an excuse” of course). What did the Sux do? They just went on to score a lot more runs and won the game 19-17, SANS MANNY, mind you.

One last item (I can’t pass this up).

As bad as things might seem to be they could be worse a lot worse.  We could still have that a$$hole Sheffield with us (I know some front runners still love him. But then again I’m sure Hitler’s mother loved him too) having A-rod’s back and leading by example     . . . . .   what a croak   . . . . . . .   a certified rat trying to jump ship more like it.

Hey Cashman Leyland has another trade for you.  Another no-brainer. You know the kind.

Bruce4Real

Yeah Cashman  . . . . Thanks for that no-brainer. Pudge is unstoppable. The chance of a lifetime!  No joking!!!

Now the joke is on Pudge he thought he was coming to a team fighting for  a playoff spot.  That was THEN Pudge  way back when.

Bruce4Real

Cashman you little shiit I’ve heard this nasty rumor you’re going to try to get Hank and Hal on food stamps to have a more flexible budget for the 2009 season.  Hey whatever help you can get us. You’re the resident genius. When was the last time you turned a contender into a turkey overnight?

Don’t get mad at me this will probably get you another proclamation from Hank extending you into the 22nd century. And you know his word is his bond.

Bruce4Real

I don’t think Las Aguilas del Cibao are happy the way Melky is messing around. No more coronas for you between innings down Santo Domingo way.

Rumor has it the Yankees have been trying to move the Melky man and every single team flatly refused to take him    . . . . . .  And that included every single one of THEM  . . . . . . .   triple A teams.

Bruce4Real

I think the Yankees can still sell out every single remaining game at the Stadium; Just Have Betemint play SS, Giambi on first, Cano on second and the Melky man on CF every game that should make for an unforgettable night at the stadium. Gaimbi hitting Christian’s glove instead of Cano’s every time he tried to start a double play, Betemint running to second base on every ground ball, Betemint forcing Gaimbi to pull a muscle every time he threw to first, Betemint Cano and Melky knocking each other out on every fly ball to short center field. PEOPLE WILL COME HANK PEOPLE MOST CERTAINLY WILL COME.

People will talk about this team for years and years and we’ll make sure they’d never forget it was Cashman who put this team together. Oh they will come Hank   . . . . .     they surely will.

Bruce4Real

How about having Tom Cruise lip-sync’ing the words to God Bless America by that great Irish tenor      . . . . . . .    Oh they will come Hank they most certainly will come.
Bruce4Real

Kennedy seems to be concentrating on getting ML better and he’s following the advice given to him by Girardi and Andy among others trying to get back to the show and help his team.

According to his pitching coach: “I was happy with the fact that Ian came out and did what he was asked to do and worked on stuff,” Chaves said. “We’ve got to understand that we’re trying to win ball games, but at the same time we’re trying to develop pitchers to go out and pitch at the major league level. That’s the main object of the minor leagues, and sometimes you have to sacrifice some to gain a lot. Tonight I was happy with the fact he was not afraid to fail. He was pitching to get better. He was told that he needed to work on some things and he came here and he wants to get better. You have to give him credit for getting out of his box and pitching toward getting better and not pitching toward getting Triple-A hitters out."

Amen to that. Will it work? Only time will tell but I’m hoping it does and then I can write about how I knew Joba was right about Kennedy being the real deal from day one.

Still I’m not sorry I went after him for pretending he didn’t care.

Better now than after he starts making $28 Mil. a year  . . . . . . . .   If you catch my drift.

I’ve just read an article by Joel Sherman in the Daily News (correction that's the Post you stupid Bruce) about chances lost, a segment of which is worth repeating (it might even help the Yankees put off pressing that panic button) :

“Sure, the Yanks would be better served with Wang and Chamberlain. But they would be best served right now if Rodriguez and Giambi were hitting in the clutch, if Jeter and Cano were not so far off their projected numbers, if Melky Cabrera had lost contact with being a major league player. Add 10 well-timed sacrifice flies this season - about one every two weeks - and the Yanks would probably be holding a playoff position right now even with all of those innings pitched by Darrell Rasner and Dan Giese and Sidney Ponson.”

Bruce4Real

The above comment goes to the core of the situation the Yankees are in. They continue to talk about how much they believe in themselves on being able to right their ship something I can’t believe myself but if that’s the case then the team is long overdue for a correction regardless of what the calendar and schedule might say. So without losing any more valuable arms to the long list of injured players battle away and damn those torpedoes if that’s the case there is no reason to be denied and go for a perfect score from now on.

All you need to do is battle one out at a time and forget about those counts and forget giving up with two strikes on you or two outs on you. You get to two outs against, you should rejoice and think: “It’s Showtime.”  Maybe too crazy? Hey you’re the ones who still believe in yourselves.

Bruce4Real

I know the turnaround point came when we got Pudge on that fateful trade more to the point, when we lost Farnsworth regardless of how Farnsworth is doing in Detroit (now we are even talking about Joba returning to the pen) but that is already in the distant past. Do you still believe in yourselves? Then you owe it to yourselves to make one final supreme effort and feel good about yourselves again as a unit, as a team.

Again, I’m trying to instill some ultra positive vibes in you ONLY because all of you guys seem to keep on believing you could pull it off. SO if that's the case   . . . . .   by all means do it.

Bruce4Real

Do you need some extra help? It is there for the asking. Just ask Damon how he felt when in 2004 he was down three games to none going into the eighth inning of the fourth game and how he felt after they won the sixth game? Then take it from there. Make your uptight manager manage you a lot easier, do it for him before they take him away.

And Girardi repeat after me: “I hate to lose, I mean, I really really hate to lose” until you actually believe it.

And you Cashman repeat after me: “I’m just a  . . . . . . .   never mind.”

Bruce4Real

Just because someone doesn’t post it doesn’t mean one doesn’t care.

Having said that Kudos to Moose for continuing to pull the team with such a tremendous effort maintaining such a fine trajectory. There’ll be plenty of time to analyze this or that in the near future   . . . .   Meanwhile just stay in the zone.

The tabloids are very much surprised because the Moose is well positioned to continue to have a very good season. Truth is if all these experts were doing their homework they would know that Mussina not having 16 wins to his credit at this time of the season since 2003 had nothing to do with his ability. The ability was always there and that’s all we need to know at this point.

Easy does it Moose    . . . . . .    one inning at a time.

Bruce4Real

Going forward the Yankees will face teams with winning records in 28 of the final 38 games. The tabloids don’t think the Yankees can win those 28 games. I say you can because you play well against better teams than against weaker teams. Why? Who cares at this point?

The solution is to win 30 games out of the last 38. How do you do that? By shooting for 34 out of the last 38 and playing perfect defense, effective pitching and timely hitting in other words BY EXECUTING and trying to use Betemint the least number of games or wait until the game is almost won to let him enter the game. Cabrera is gone so that’s a big plus we could have a truly disciplined team at the plate now and know when to bunt to FIRST and when to BUNT TO THIRD. Know to bunt on a strike but not on a ball. If you are going to sacbunt don’t go pulling a hamstring while racing to first because that defeats the purpose it’s just a sacrifice dude (simply to advance the runner). You can’t bunt? Then practice until you bunt like Wade Boggs. Back to basics, really, easy stuff nothing cerebral      . . . . .       EXECUTION.

Bruce4Real

Forget about those brand names you’ll be facing because if you are as good as you claim you are that won’t matter either.  On any given week you can beat  Halladay, Burnet, Beckett, Kazmir, and any other good pitcher and you can turn every remaining week into said “any given one” if you really want to make it happen   . . . . . . .    if you are the hungriest team out there.
