If the media has been really  REALLY keeping track of events for the last few years then they would know how valuable Andy is to the Yankees specially now: It gives them a sure arm and a competitor and A KNOWN QUANTITY because it allows the Yankees to plan accordingly giving them a few options open that they wouldn’t otherwise have.  They are using Pettitte loyalty and honesty to their advantage and it that’s going to get the job done then why not? just don’t pull a fast one on Andy.  We won’t stand for it.

For those who are a bit slow to follow events: the Yankees are in a very good position they can practically dictate terms to both the Sux and Boras they have the bread and the tools to have an even more potent lineup and the already potent rotation makes them an incredibly awesome team. On paper of course but that’s when Girardi comes in and turns potentiality into reality (second time I have said that in almost three years).
Bruce4Real

Another good thing is the fact that we have a bunch of arms in the minors that will have to yield at least one or two studs in the next few years let’s not neglect them or stop treating them with TLC they are more than a precious commodity; just remember how hard it was to get to this point.

Another true treasure that we cannot afford to stop caring about (besides paying him lip service) is Wang; he’s been consistently effective and his best years are ahead of him   . . . . . .   so how does C.C., A.J., Wang, Joba (with or without rules) and Pettitte grab you? If that doesn’t move you nothing will.

Remember David’s dynasty (for those who don’t know who David is go to the other Yankees talk board where you’ll find him pounding those Yankee haters 24/7   . . . . . . .  EXCEPT ON WEEKENDS he says) teams?

Those teams had young talent like the then little known Jeter, Posada, Bernie setup man and new closer Mariano, and the eternal warrior Pettitte and my personal favorite RAMIRO MENDOZA the quiet and sweet guy from Panama but they also had Boggs, beautiful Cone, Hays, Tino, Fielder, Strawberry, Justice, El Duque, The Rocket (we haven’t forgotten) and I’m talking about the leaders on those teams then you can add the crowd perennial clutch guys: Bernie, Knubby, Curtis, Ledee, Sojo and Brosius and the money guys Nelson and Stanton, guys who really hated to lose like O’Neill. QUITE A BUNCH and they all clicked to win those WS Titles and they followed their Karma and brought it to fruition   . . . . .  All for under $200 mil. a year.

Bruce4Real

That  is what we might be beginning to have this time and Damon knows it   . . . .   Only time will tell but I think father time is smiling again and so is Hank.

I will take this opportunity to wish all Yankee members in the entire roster including coaches and Kevin Long and Farnsy wherever you maybe as well as the Boss (there will always be only one Boss the one that made us FANS feel special) and their loved ones: Peace, much Better Health, Happiness and Prosperity during the Holiday Season and beyond   . . . . . .  and to the greatest fans on earth the same.

Bruce4Real

C.C. and A.J. and Swisher thanks for coming  . . . . Dumb and Dumber thanks for signing them  . . .  we know the job is not done but it feels pretty good so far.

Material boy find a life you are going to be busy this season  . . .   we know you’ll be ready  and the same goes for Posada who also starts from a clean slate.

Make it Happen.

And let the whining Nation continue to whine Big Time.

Bruce4Real

Timing is everything.

Time to hike up the price for Teixeira the sux are screwed and they know it. That’s why the whining Nation’s rattlesnakes (including those writing for Sports Illustrated) are beginning to commit SEPPUKU.

Bruce4Real

We let our guard down for a couple of years and the Sux took advantage of it, good for them.  But that was then this is now.
Bruce4Real

They fail to sign Teixeira they’re screwed they sign Teixeira at Boras prices they’re also screwed. That’s the difference between the whining Nation and the Yankees not so evil empire.

We can hike up the price for Tex and if we decided to play our cards well we might even take Tex and sign him and we’ll just go about our business which is being in the business of putting a WS caliber team on the field every year. You don’t believe me? Ask Jeter.

Bruce4Real

Should the Sux decide to call our bluff we let them have Tex at exorbitant prices (exorbitant for the whining nation that is) and we go after Manny and PRESTO we got Manny following Alex in a year when Alex will have his MVP stuff.

Bruce4Real

Gone are the days when we had to face their studs on every series which made Girardi’s knees buckle a bit.

Now after getting rid of all that dead weight while waiting for the young studs to pan out we were able to recoup and regroup and we are sitting kind of pretty just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Meantime the whining nation knows those last three years were sort of an aberration and they are faced with a good dosage of reality; the nation is no match for our Yankees  . . . .   period   . . . . . . . . .    and the bonus this year is that both Manny and Tex can't stand the nation they know more about how they operate than we do and that’s a plus too.
Bruce4Real

So time for the sux to pick their poison for the entire 2009 season and possibly beyond.

I hear they are trying to come up with a new inflatable section at Fenway   . . . . . . . .   for more revenue I guess. Good luck.

Bruce4Real

Beckett is supposed to have a good year this next season but seeing how he failed in the last few weeks of this season I don’t know and then you have the Tek factor, the Lowell factor, Coco is gone, Papy is not protected in that lineup.

No wonder Henry is out of control.

Bruce Bruce Bruce Bruce....you lost all credibility with me when you mentioned "David".  He has got to be the sorriest excuse for a Skyank fan.  By you mentioning him, you just show how little you really know.  By the way, the Skyanks can sign all the free-agents they want, it won't mean a thing come October.  They WON'T win the World Series.  Not in 2009, not in 2010, not in 2011........not in 2999.

Bruce4Real

I know we’re not done yet.  So let’s take a moment and enjoy what we have gotten so far. Ahhh   . . . . . .   It’s shaping up like a very good year.

Indeed.

Welcome Home Mark.

Bruce4Real

Not bad Tango & Cash   . . . . . . .   almost like clockwork.

Bruce4Real

Say it ain’t so.

Other baseball teams are upset about Yankees free spending. Are they upset about revenue sharing including Yankees luxury tax which will bring a few millions to their pockets?  I didn’t think so.

The Yankees free spending will be frowned upon by the country due to the shape of the economy. I guess they would feel better and the economy would improve if we just sit and watch the sux signing every available free agent to correct deficiencies in their lineup or starting rotation.

Bruce4Real

What a terrible thing to do: to overlook other people’s feelings and go on a spending spree to buy another championship.  As Cash says “we waited last year and decided to go with the youth movement” and everybody I mean everybody thought that was utterly stupid when the Yanks didn’t go after Santana only to make fun of our team and organization when we didn’t make it to the postseason for the first time in many years.

Since we Yankee fans make all that spending possible and we are not the least upset by this wonderful event the least we can say is DUH!!

We know these acquisitions don’t guarantee a WS title but it improves our chances somewhat and we like that “somewhat” angle.

Bruce4Real

So let us worry about far more important things like: should Mark follow Alex in the lineup or should it be the other way around?  Or how many more wins will C.C. have over Beckett the sux stud? How about will A.J. own the sux again this season?  Now those are things worth losing sleep over.
Bruce4Real

Did I forget to mention that Alex and Mark (and Swisher historically) have some of the most beautiful OBP in the Majors? Moneyball a-la-Bronx baby.
