The only problem we have is that A-rod is not as smart as he thinks he is and the way he handles this damaging rumor may impact the Yankee season and that’s what got us pissed. So in order to repay fu&king Torre his kindness we should make sure our ultra insecure cleanup hitter is protected by Manny otherwise that huge investment is not going to pay-off. Hal has a bigger problem. If he doesn’t get Manny (without outbidding themselves) regardless of where Manny plays he’s going to make his brother Hank look like an imbecile and we know Hank deserves better: he likes the team, he fights for the team and he cares about the Yankee fans.
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | It’s hard to feel sorry for A-rod and I’m not saying he’s guilty but we know only too well how owners really care (or Bud for that matter) about PE substances. Just remember that the Yankees took out a clause regarding steroids when they were ready to sign Giambi, at his agent’s request. | |

You may also remember that twice A-rod almost went to the Sux once before the opt-out and second after the opt-out so this would be a Sux problem and if that have had happened we know that nothing would have been written by this pompous and self-righteous media if that was the case; that’s why my approach about this is simply fu&k it and let’s get Manny signed . . . . . . . . then you’ll see the entire whining nation pissing blood including girlie Verducci. Tell me you whining nation that the reason why Varitek hits now like a Sissy is not that he can no longer stock up on Roids and the designer drugs are out of his reach same thing goes for Lowell, David Ortiz and probably Beckett (who every writer in the past has claimed looked so much and behaved like Clemens).

The advice I have for A-rod is remember that your family will always be with you they are the only ones you can count on. So at least share some of the wealth you extorted from the Yankees with them; from the way they dress that doesn’t seem to be the case . . . . . . and for that . . . . . . . shame on you. Lawyers are going to milk you dry now but hey you got the bread and plenty of it . . . . . . so happy trails. As for us fans you just deliver on the field and stop admiring your failures and concentrate on the job at hand like Predroia, Manny, Bay, Mauer and other great hitters do and stop the vain and affected pseudo-reflexes you exhibit at the plate specially when you strike out . . . . . we already now them only too well . . . . just go up there and take your hacks . . . . . . . if you do that the ball will travel and you won’t hear much booing . . . . . . . at least not in the Bronx.

This is payback for making them look so foolish before signing with the Yankees but that’s alright we got your back and we’ll own them this season and chase them all the way to Foston and beat them silly for the next three or four years.

That should be the other reason why the Yankees should play united (the first one is Joe’s devotion to his players) and as for Posada and his undying love for Torre just shut the fu&k up and play a$$hole. BTW I did find that Joe really hated Cashman and not only REALLY threw Cashman under the bus but chose to drive the bus himself . . . . . talk about being flat-out vicious.

Now more than ever it becomes imperative than the Yankee pitchers learn (and execute to perfection) how to keep these sux batters honest by pitching to them up and in consistently thereby keeping them on their heels and protecting our batters and that may apply to the rest of the Division (good old fashioned baseball you might say).
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | I do hope that A-rod (despite all this circus atmosphere) goes on to have a MONSTER year (as that ba$tard Matthews points out) and makes more timely contributions to the team success for the rest of this Yankee career . . . . . . . . . one season at a time. | |
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | I do also hope that Hal and Cashman realize that by getting Manny to protect our messed up cleanup hitter they accomplish two things: first they will silence our critics (or pi$$ them even more but so what? screw them) and second they’ll make sure Torre reaches his managerial nadir sooner. | |

The other advice I have for A-rod is don’t forget to congratulate your teammate Teixeira (if he’s batting in front of you) every time he takes the opposition’s yard or adds some rbi’s to his stats (that was a complaint Bobby had from last season) maybe some of us fans were too hard on you. Go ahead and celebrate your round-trippers and those of your teammates (as Jeter did with you last season) you guys know the game well and as the media has correctly pointed out: “it’s us against the frigging world anyway.” Let’s have some fun out there.

Sports Illustrated is trying to legitimize selena hatchet job. SI.com: One hundred four players tested positive for steroids in the survey testing of 2003. Alex Rodriguez is now the only known name among those 104 players, leading to some speculation that he was somehow "singled out." Can you explain why we know only of his inclusion on the list?Roberts: David Epstein and I were working on a profile of Alex -- he was a staple of the news this past year, whether because of Madonna or his broken marriage or the Yankees' dive in the '08 standings -- when we began hearing rumors about steroid use. You hear a lot of things in this business, so we went about our due diligence in nailing down the truth: Was this rumor or real? In a meticulous process, we verified and re-verified our information, because this is a human being here, so you absolutely do not want to be wrong. We made a decision to confront Alex with the evidence we had regarding his positive test, and give him a chance to explain. He chose not to.

THIS FAN’S REACTION: Of all the active players in the majors you chose the one player that is in the Yankees roster and bats in the heart of the lineup is that a coincidence BIT&H? You were working on this story about Rodriguez when exactly? The key to the answer is: “he was a staple of the news this past year” so the research began late 2008 early 2009 and then you said “ . . . his broken marriage or the Yankees' dive in the '08 standings -- when we began hearing rumors about steroid use.” You only began hearing rumors about his drug use only until late 2008 early 2009 BIT&H? What kind of inept investigative reporter hears rumors about drug use from the premier player in baseball many years after Lupica had been hinting at it every chance he had (although he never found the cojones to say it, now I'm sure he will). This BIT&H did a few pieces on A-rod when she was with the Times. No due diligence then? Unless due diligence means “Mitchell hadn’t authorized Verducci to give me the information they had decided for me to use to do the number on Rodriguez.”

SI.com: Obviously, not all players chose to use steroids. In your reporting on Rodriguez, what understanding did you gain about why someone with a $252 million contract would use steroids? Roberts: I'll try not to indulge in too much amateur psychology here, but I think for anyone who is tagged with the "richest player in baseball" label, there is enormous pressure to perform. We know Alex is a pleaser; he wants to be the hero of the game. So did the convergence of pressure and pleasing trigger his use of steroids in '03? It sounds plausible.

THIS FAN’S REACTION: “I'll try not to indulge in too much amateur psychology here . . . ” Give me a fu&king break! The truth is anybody who cared to read your pitiful articles in the Times and I was one of them know very well you’ve been doing nothing but attempting to play the pseudo-Psychologist every chance you got but nobody gave a shiit about your foregone conclusions they were so amateurish as it was your writing. That report on A-rod being a slum landlord was the pits maybe that was your ticket out of the Times. If I’m not mistaken that was your last piece for them.

“We know Alex is a pleaser; he wants to be the hero of the game. So did the convergence of pressure and pleasing trigger his use of steroids in '03? It sounds plausible.” THIS FAN’S REACTION: What a croak! You’d better read that again: The convergence of pressure from whom? The pitiful Arlington fans? The pitiful Dallas media? Or the desire to please whom? Hicks? A-rod couldn’t give two shiits about Hicks and he despised Shoewalter which leaves us with WHOM? Which makes that theory of convergence of the desire to please (I’m guessing that’s what you meant) laughable and the pressure from WHOM? (come again), so weak and worthless just like your attempt at being relevant. You’ve crash landed even before you took off.
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | That leads me to believe that, Verducci feeding you that crap notwithstanding, A-rod is 100,000 times the player he is compared to the writer you want to be. That’s how you’ve won the KISS THIS award for the years 2008-2009 Bit&h. With an honorable mention (hey even wh/oring can be philosophical) for accepting the leftovers thrown your way by Verducci. | |

Typical Yankmeoff fan response....let's turn this into a "Red Sox" thing. What a joke you are Bruce. I can understand why Yankmeoff fans do this....they aspire that their team could be as classy as the Red Sox are. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. A-Roid* and the Yankmeoff*- 26 Rings*....everything associated with the Yankmeoffs* will not contain an asterik.

I never thought I’d agree on the same day with Lupica and Matthews views on the Yankees or any of their players but I do (Matthews article on A-rod short term win to be precise). I still hold to my Foston (Mitchell)/Verducci/Roberts templars theory though. I don’t blame Bud solely on the roids era but I do blame him on naming Mitchell while still on the sux board of directors and I blame those who allowed Mitchell to peruse illegally on confidential information which allowed Verducci and buddies to hurt the Yankees while talking about leveling the playing field. |
