In my mock analysis I explain how that came to be, just the naked intent to deceive the readers by willingly turning the term pitch calling into pitch tipping. It was all Roberts’ doing. There was no pitch tipping.

Great players like Michael Young and Mark Teixeira who played with Arod side by side during that time, players who are supremely talented and intelligent and honest flatly denied it, IT NEVER HAPPENED. Teixeira the gifted player from Georgia Tech and Young the Pride of Southern California flatly DENIED it as did the then President of the Rangers. Our own Jeter who played the same position as Arod and who was a friend of Arod says “that’s the first time I heard about it.” All these great players and the Rangers President DENIED it and SHOT DOWN your THESIS as a TOTAL FABRICATION. I know you’re trying to back pedal but it’s too late you should not be allowed to get away with it not by us Fans. You went too far.

Roberts said Sunday. "You look at a player who by his own coach's account was unrecognizable his junior year because his body had changed so much. Scouts didn't recognize him. In his sop****re year he could barely bench press 100 pounds. By his junior year, he was bench pressing 300 pounds." DOUG MIENTKIEWICZ was a close friend and teammate of Arod in High school to the point that Arod still being poor and since he couldn’t afford decent clothing used to borrow DOUG’s shirts and pants and he used to eat at Doug’s home because times were not that plentiful at Arod's and by now Arod was a permanent fixture in Doug’s home (nothing unusual about that I saw the same thing happening when I was growing up) and DOUG FLATLY DENIED THAT CHARGE TOO. He says it’s a total fabrication, their HS coach DENIES Another FABRICATION.

Don’t believe me? Just watch the games on YES when the Mariners used to be a thorn in our side and beat us in almost every series (sort of like the new Angels) and when I watched those games I realized how nimble and tall Arod looks because he was still skinny. This woman did a rush job and forgot to recheck her sources or NOBODY DID IT for her. If Arod looked stronger while with the Mariners compared to his HS years it was because the guy was eating better that occurs when you HAVE THE MONEY to BUY FOOD and therefore you are able to eat nutritious food in bigger quantities. And it he looked bigger in his Junior year compared to his sop****re year is due to something called development he went from puberty to a teenager that practiced at least three sports all year around (remember we’re talking about Dade county in Florida). You coming from the suburbs never saw those poor kids from inner cities practicing BKB (a sport Arod was great at) almost every waking hour. Have you seen how soon they turn into bigger and taller athletes almost overnight? It is as simple as that.

We now hear the media talking about how the fortunes they made have affected the lives of Doc Gooden and Daryl Strawberry two great players who are loved by the Yankee fans because although we got them on the rebound they helped our team. Why would it be different with Arod? Granted he hasn’t descended into the abyss as these two former players have (and we wish them nothing but the best) for that he should be commended yet he’s the target of this witch hunt for that very same reason. He’s a nouveau riche a very rich nouveau riche screw the frigging guy he’s a minority for G.S. If this was Sheffield or T.O. do you think the media would get away with all the harassment Arod endures?
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | Some tabloids (actually every tabloid including Newsday) have attacked Girardi for sort of attacking the book based on principle and coming to the defense of his player the reply has been “It’s a frigging book Joe”, “it’s all about money” and “Arod brought all this down on himself.” COME AGAIN? Because you guys are all so wrong (don’t act surprised I have caught your inaccuracies before) because that’s definitively not the way it happened. | |

Arod didn’t fail a REGULAR PED test by MLB, NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. All major league baseball players where asked if they wanted to help MLB determine if PED’s tests were necessary most players agree particularly because they were told this would be a dry run with no implications whatsoever for any players that might fail the test. Arod was one of those who agreed to take the test. What was he hiding at that time? You tell me roberts you with the degree in psychology where was the intent to deceive at that time?

The union forgets to destroy the samples and the government going on an unrelated investigation comes across these results and wins the right to take possession of them much to the chagrin of every player since that’s practically illegal and the Union fails his players soundly at this stage. So the ultra sux fanatic and Director Mitchell has this information dropped on his lap with the names of the 104 players who failed the test (including a few sux players no doubt this smacks of arrogance but nobody says crap) yet in all his wisdom he picks the names of the Yankee stars Clemens and Pettitte and gives the list to Roberts (via verducci) they all picked Arod’s name from the list, wrote down the names of other players or persons who might incriminate Arod and cornered Arod with the help of the press and he admits to the roids charge but the media wants more only Arod as expected doesn’t give them all the blood they are asking for.

And now we have to deal with all these charges in the frigging book one serious the others practically meaningless that were destined to harm Arod and the Yankees, BECAUSE THERE IS MONEY INVOLVED? Yes Roberts is taking advantage of who Arod is in order to enrich herself (strike the iron while is still hot) EXACTLY; NAKED GREED the same vice Arod is accused of. SO TELL ME TABLOIDS WHERE DO YOU GET OFF SAYING THIS IS SOMETHING AROD BROUGHT UPON HIMSELF? Are you on drugs? That’s the impression I get when I see these statements and half truths and your condoning your colleague’s fabrication.

This is a sad day for Baseball. This is not about the FIRST AMENDMENT but all about some members of the media thinking they have a GOD given right to destroy people’s life because “we’re riding the banner of the FIRST AMENDMENT’ the government cannot hurt the people but the press can . . . . . . . Oh yeah the Press is well above the Government. Who the fuc&k elected you guys?

Roberts claims she was moved by Aroid hurting his family with the divorce and the Madonna affair. I remember coming down hard very hard on Arod when that happened. WHERE WERE YOU THEN? Probably flying SUX ONE with Theo and John Henry.

Roberts goes on to blame Boras for Arod’s shortcomings and she tries to sound noble in her witch hunt, check this out: "I do think there's a very good Alex in there," said Roberts, who spent six months reporting and writing the book. "I think the good Alex has a very good shot at winning. I think the good Alex is there for all of us to see for the next nine years. ... No matter what stage he seems to go through, what sort of incarnation he seems to go through, I think that he is at heart a pretty tenderhearted person." Once and for all . . . . . . . make up your mind BITC&H.

Oh and about that game last night turn the page all the odds were against us IN OUR OWN PARK. Although I was not surprised that display of power by Tex was a welcome sign. You’ll be okay we know that. Let’s hope that Posada’s injury is not serious we can’t afford that; that doesn’t mean he should play hurt not at all. Hey Arod do you want to be clutch? Check Melky at the plate: sheer intensity and concentration.

Good game tonight we are going up against the invincible Sux . . . . . Yeah right! Today is a difficult day for Joba. Joba needs the team but the team needs Joba.

| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | Joba you are intelligent, talented and work very hard there isn’t much anybody can’t tell you so make sure you calm yourself before the game time try deep slow breathing for just a few minutes if you think it may help you and once the game starts just clear the mind if you had done your homework and had prepared yourself for this game there will be nothing to worry about. Nothing will happen if you do not win this game (I’m not trying to say hey if you lose don’t worry about it no that’s not it, all I’m saying is although we all love this team and we know how important this game is there are things in life far more important that the game of baseball the family for one. So again clear the mind trust yourself as the talented future star that you are playing in this beautiful park the envy of every team in the nation and the place where many championships will be won and go after those batters, this is not frigging Fenway silly quasi stadium this is the new Yankee stadium. | |

Trust your stuff and be aggressive from the first pitch follow your plan make sure your plan is not predictable be ready to adjust since this bastard first base coach is tipping his batters as to location but don’t get overly worked out because of it because if you do then he has already won. The Angels used to do the same thing, don’t take the inadequacies of the umpires personally they are far from perfect but they also work very hard and have a long season without much rest it’s a very demanding job and on top of that they have to make split second decisions so they should not be your problem. Get to know the umpire’s zone and stay within it don’t be like Mussina used to be (except the last year) if you don’t get those strikes erase them from your mind and try again without any extra pressure. Take your time whenever necessary and enjoy the game. We, your extended family have your back and trust you’ll come away victorious tonight and every night. Keep the faith; you are not alone out there.

Why have the sux beaten the Yanks five straight games so far? How about because they have a better team and a better manager I could go even farther than that but why embarrass the Yankee organization one more time? Hey at least we have a stadium that is light years away better than that piece of crap on Yawkey way but stadiums are not designed to win games players have to do that and the Yankees haven’t done the job so far. We could say we’re still in May and we’re at .500 and that’s the best I can think of. Being at .500 used to be very important for Torre so we’ll say just that we’re at .500 and this is the beginning of May.

As expected Joba had some problems in the beginning it was just a coincidence that it took him 4 runs before he adjusted his sights and reacted the way he did and what he did the rest of the way after surrendering those 4 runs was superb. We know he’s not going to be superb in every outing but (please stuff that crap about moving Joba to the bullpen the day the Yankees do that it would mean they are a bunch of idiots who can’t even buy a WS title even if they could buy five Cy Young award winners and an all-star player at every position including the DH and that would be a sorry state of affairs) what we saw last night after the second inning was beautiful and taking care of Joba long term and Hughes for that matter is a top priority.

So what was good about his performance? You could tell the fans came alive and Joba means that much to those fans they believe in the team when he displays that ace attitude and command of his pitches. Go out and spend some bucks and make some trades to fine tune the pen but that talk about messing with Joba again that’s pure BULL. Arod (without the vanity, the Kodak moments, the how do I look? affected attitude, wear those frigging highlights but don’t overdo it dude, and spare us those extracurricular activities this is your fifth season with the team let’s play better baseball the type you’re capable of) is coming back not soon enough and the team should start to get better not SOON but definitively better and then we’ll see how they mesh with the new acquisitions. |
