Verducci is on the record saying that the loss of Manny should not affect the team managed by his co-conspirator Torre, the team should do okay without Manny.  Let’s find out how much he’s on the money in about 50 games time.

As the Zen master keeps saying: “We shall see.”

Bruce4Real

I’ll end up by saying at least WE THE FANS pay for those salaries with our sweat with our hard earned pitiful dollars. The media gets the best seats for free.

Are they failing us or ARE THEY FAILING US?

Bruce4Real

The Manny story really shook me up (cynics will say you should know better) but people like Jeter keeps saying “it’s just a few that destroy the image of the rest and ruin the game” but this friend  of mine and I value his opinion more than anybody else’s keeps saying “they’re all tainted (actually they’re all dirty) but he also says “all cops are on the take” and “what has Bloomberg done for NYC?  “Super rats the size of pitbulls” so can he be right about all these things?
Bruce4Real

The point I’m making is yesterday I said to myself I’m taking this game too seriously way too seriously. What has a baseball player done for us except give us headaches and a few sleepless nights? They all care about themselves. The all vain, narcissistic pri&ks and phonies and so are the tabloid writers who covers them (I have seen them at the stadium).

So I decided to take a night off without baseball and really took Manny’s episode to heart not because he was the premier pure power hitter in baseball (almost at will) but for what that means for baseball.

I was one of those who said a few years ago “Arod will deliver us and rescue the game” and the idiot didn’t ever sent me a sign indicating he was not qualified to do that so I wouldn’t make a fool of myself but I don’t have an ego like he does I’m more a free spirit like Manny (without the fame, the money, the talent, the lethal swing a one hundred percent unadultered NOTHING). But I still got my pride and I’m saying this because I’m sure there is a whole bunch of fans out there who feel the same way.

We’re all in this for the love of the game and us Yankee fans for the love of the Yankee colors. Lupica really ripped with a few key strokes the Manny statue from the proverbial pedestal we idiots put him on. That’s maybe too harsh but things being what they are who has the energy to argue with the guy? That’s the thing this seemingly innocent episode has zapped from us guys (and gals) our positive energy, totally.  He was that lethal.

I hope the Yankee haters have noticed by now that I haven’t attacked the WS banners the sux won because of Manny or attacked the Dodgers for their current run and I don’t intent to do that any time soon. What’s done is done; one thing that puzzles me is the fact that people keep calling Arod and Manny the abject essence of greed. That sounds obvious right? Except that back in the days when all foston had to sell at the stadium were T-shirts celebrating the 86 years of the then current curse Manny offered the Foxton brass the chance to renegotiate his contract in such a way that most of the money in it will be deferred to allow them to go out and hire the players they would need to make an effective run at the WS. People have already forgotten that.  Arod on the other hand keeps being called a phony for saying he wanted out of Texas to be with a contender an when he was negotiating with Eptstein he agreed to take a $ 30 Mil loss (that’s roughly $3 Mil a year over ten years or $4 and a quarter Mil over 7 years. Do you know how much 3 or 4.125 Million dollars can buy?  Have you ever watched “Who wants to be a millionaire? Where nobody ever wins anything.

So tell me guys in the media, the pride of planet earth what gives?

Bruce4Real

I guess the “we want Yogi” chant by the creatures has already started. Amazing what a group of $ 5.00 seats can do to the career of a touted Yankee manager. These are the same guys who want Swisher to pitch and Sabathia to pinch hit and run.

I told Molina last season when he went in for Posada “Be careful out there right now you’re far more important than the merely backup catcher you are because if you get hurt doing something stupid like running faster than your usual pedestrian pace or worrying about your pedestrian batting average you would be doing the Yankees a disservice because that’s not why you are here for.

You area here for your defense and because you make it possible for Posada to recover from injuries and when he’s okay you’re here to give him a well deserved rest.  He didn’t get the memo last season and I didn’t sent him a copy this week. MY BAD.

The same thing happened when Doun Mienk was here covering first base because Giambi with ball on hand and runners moving around couldn’t tell which way was north or south.

When the team did go south he became the natural target and every frigging tabloid and front runner started blaming Doug and amazingly he took the blame WHEN he had been hired not because of his bat prowess but because of his glove and then Arod did say something stupid (does he ever) he said “I have known Doug since HS and he’s always taken pride of what he can do with his bat. End result the Yankees rushed to get rid of Doug at season’s end because of his low batting average. Believe it (after he took one for the team in bucking foston when Lowell cowardly hit him from behind while he was defenseless on the ground).

Fans specially drunken ones are easily maneuvered around by tabloids in search of a headline however brief.
Bruce4Real

You can’t in good conscience say get rid of Girardi he has had an injured roster this season that goes without saying but that doesn’t mean he should concentrate more on his world famous show “ask the manager” on YES than on managing his team effectively.

The Brass will have to provide Girardi with a decent catcher faster than ASAP a second rated catcher won’t do and they would have to agree to part with some hardware that’s the only solution. Why? Because that ‘s what the sux would do without hesitation and they are the new benchmark.
Bruce4Real

There has been plenty of exhibits to judge them by from posting a monstrous deposit on Matsuzaka, trading Garcia Parra, Coco Crisp, taking a loss on Renteria and losing great young players and pitchers to the Marlins for Beckett and Lowell and they continue to put a competitive team on the field.

So now it’s your turn to show your pulse matches that of your team’s needs equally if not completely exact and you are willing to do what needs to be done. You have warehouses full of young pitchers and pitchers’ parts and some position players you can ship and hordes of cash to be transferred on a moment’s notice like the sux do. DO IT.

Because if you can't match their efforts and strategy you will set your standards lower and due to the fact that there will be at least three very competitive teams in the AL East Division only one team might make it the Division Leader the wild card might not be coming from the same Division you might not make it to the playoffs; a tough road lies ahead.

Bruce4Real

Arod is back so just wait for a couple of days to see how the team reacts and then light some fire under this team if needed; you have to give them a booster and restart them and make sure they understand you mean business if you do that you might placate those ever dangerous $5. Seat occupants who are clamoring for your head  and the rewards can be enormous. Every player senses they’re on the brink just give them the push they need. You are there to make them believe they can do it.
Bruce4Real

Start acting in a proactive manner have a plan and make it work. Stop transmitting panic and disarray to the troops you said it it’s only May then believe in what you preach; fighting with the umpires can only carry you so far you need to get serious and start managing from the perspective of a manager who knows what he’s doing and knows his team will respond and the next trick is to make those guys respond.

If Arod listens to you on the field let me remind you Arod makes the most money in baseball he will obey you then go and pull that frigging pitcher friend of yours off the field when he stinks THE WORLD IS WATCHING. He doesn’t want to follow your leadership trade him! Nobody is greater or more important than the team and that includes the captain, Posada or anybody else.

What's next? Some piitcher waiving you off like the big unit or Mussina used to do with Torre.

Bruce4Real

Going back to Manny and PED’s it’s indeed a sad day for baseball and if we are not careful the risk is there to run our sport to the ground we all have to be careful owners. media, players, their union and fans.

Somebody will have to rescue our sport. Can the game be saved?

Bruce4Real

I was going to say the night of the eighth of May in Camden Yards the NY Yankees made baseball history they WON a game against the LAST team in the Division! (Applause follows for at least two and a half minutes)

But I figure the team could enjoy a good night sleep without the frigging sarcasm.

Bruce4Real

So for now a simple “Welcome back Arod” will have to do.

Oh and “Welcome back C.C. Sabathia TOO.”

Bruce4Real

Oh and I’m going to let that bonehead play by Swisher go by.

You may thank Arod for that too.

Bruce4Real

You got to find your groove again Swisher, Jeter, Cano and Teixeira (because is going to take more than a few days for Arod to be his old 100 percent again).
Bruce4Real

The tabloids are justly having a field day on the Yankees inability to put a couple of wins together.

All these headlines about the sad phase we’re going through and they barely bother to mention that across town there is a team that has been playing pretty good lately. The Mets are following the lead of the torrid start by Beltran and the CY Young fraction of season Santana is having. At least New York has something to smile about.

Bruce4Real

Sportswriter keep writing about all the “what if’s” regarding Arod not signing with the Mets when he was offered that ton of money by Texas.

What IF Arod would have signed with the Mets where do you think Beltran and Santana would be playing now? At the new Yankee stadium off course and the way we treat our Yankee players I’m not so sure they would be doing well but they are doing fine now and that’s what matters.
