That’s a no-no. | |

Maybe that is one of the main reasons why so many heralded rookies fail to make it in the Bronx. If you live in Jersey and have to drive to the stadium when are you going to have time to quiet the mind and rest the body? You veteran guys you tell me. If we are the extended family of the seasoned players isn’t true that we must be the extended family of the rookies too? We treat them as rookies but we don’t know which one of these rookies will be our next superstars but that’s not the point the point is these rookies are our future they should be carefully developed and cared for like the precious commodity and fine human beings they are.

Let me remind you AGAIN it took 5 years to discover Santana in the majors let’s give the rookies a fair chance to make it in NY sort of like the way Girardi treats Ramirez and Albaladejo. If the Boss was actively involved with the team he would have had someone working on this and similar situations yesterday, I know.

My apologies to Coke. The poor guy hasn’t had a peaceful moment since he arrived in NY something that Jack Curry just brought up in a very interesting article in the Times giving us a picture of some of the tribulations of ML rookies in this case one of our own rookies. We are here for them no doubt and his teammates should be there for him to educate him about this city and some of its neighboring states like New Jersey plain Jersey for us.

I’m appalled than nobody from Cashman’s office or from the Imperial Court of the Yankees organization is trying to help this rookie. We fans don’t give two shiits about anybody else besides our players (except the Boss and he earned that right) but the rookies? That’s our future right there.

How can we in good conscience say this kid has no makeup no guts no code let’s send him back to AA or AAA ball? How can you be so sure when you didn’t even bother to take the time to get to know him Oh, says the person who is not authorized to say anything but says it anyway, it’s in their best interest to be prepared. Prepared? How? Let’s dedicate some time to educate and help these kids to find their comfort zone on and off the field (in the tristate area I guess) they may surprise us in the future. And it would be very interesting to know how other organizations like the sux, Rays, Twins, Cardinals deal with similar situations.

MY BAD In the meantime Coke you get a pass from us. Get your rest and take your time and enjoy your stay in NY whether for a season or for many many more off the field as well as ON THE FIELD. Trust your stuff and take your time young man. You are our most precious commodity and we should have your back . . . . . . . . And we do.

Great team effort; some of our guys are getting on board and some of our guys are bringing them home the way winning baseball ought to be. Andy couldn’t find his spots yet he battled as usual and it paid off.

The team seems to be settling down and that’s great to watch. Winning makes a talented team look better naturally and somehow we feel that’s the way this team will conduct itself for the rest of the season; on most days there will be different heroes some superstars some unheralded but who’s counting all we care about is the winning the balm that cleanses and invigorates. We’ll win a lot more games than we’ll lose and that’s the general idea. We knew, better still, we felt the talent was there Arod made us whole and now Wang will probably solidify that feeling even more.

After reading Jerry Manuel reaction to his team mischief on defense you’d think that Manuel thinks the fans go to the stadium to see him manage; he reminds me of Pinella who used to steal the thunder from his players. I think he really believes his own propaganda (about being cerebral). Put a sock on it. it’s just a frigging game played in the Dodgers (a team that is hot right now) backyard. If the teams stinks on defense it’s your fault and your coaches fault, OWN TO IT. The media reacts like if the Mets are out of first place by at least 4 or 5 games. Regardless of what the Mets brass say Church is not 100% not after suffering the concussions he did and it’ll take more time for him to fully recover. For a person suffering the effects he does running the bases at a great speed is not an easy task NOT when the game is on the line. You’ve lost Delgado do you want to lose Church too?

Denard Span couldn’t leave NY (the stadium and the entire city) soon enough. Come to think of it that was a great compliment. That’s exactly how we want other teams to think of the Bronx: a hostile venue (in a nice way); we don’t want them to feel comfortable like the sux and the Indians did recently. THIS IS OUR HOME.
| Bruce4RealPosts: 1681Location: Join Date: November 29, 2007 11:46 PMSend Message | Sabathia started last night’s game kind of iffy but as the game progressed he got stronger and more efficient and by the end of his outing you knew he was in full control. The team obliged by scoring more than enough runs and ran with the win. After coming from behind in the previous games the team scored early and then often which is what good teams do. The relief was also on the money and we won the most important game, the game at hand. | |

The pie throwing business seems to be fun but you're only as good as your last win and A.J. has neglected that part of his deal which is he has to play great baseball throw great pitches win games in great fashion. Having fun is great but we haven’t won anything yet guys and contrary to what the resident team guru says FUN doesn't generate winning baseball but the other way around. As a matter of fact we are not even in first place.

As a matter of record the so called foston idiots didn’t win much UNTIL the NY TEAM CHOKED on game four of the 2004 ALCS (I will spare you the gaudy details). So . . . . . . . . . First walk the walk then . . . . . . |
