Girardi is tickled pink I tell you but check this for size   . . . . . . it will only get better!   Could you believe that?  IF YOU CONTINUE TO WORK HARD AND STAY HUNGRY and never underestimate your opponent (let the media call your opponent putrid you are well above that)   . . . . .  IT WILL GET EVEN BETTER.
Bruce4Real

It’s Joba’s turn to continue his march to stardom. Nothing should happen to Huff for his exercise of free speech (somersaults and all) if you are truly focused on the game at hand as I know you are.

Let’s have a well played and professional game pound the strike zone cut on the number of walks given (a new golden rule)  and if you make a mistake take a step back and breath deep and regroup. Don’t let the blue behind the plate affect your game plan or affect your concentration the goal is getting those men out.

Bruce4Real

Remember guys this game is important because   . . . . . .   it is the game at hand and we are going to execute and play heads up baseball.

Guys LET’S KEEP ON KEEPING ON.

Bruce4Real

So  Swisher    . . . . . .    what came first?  The chicken or the egg?

Says the Zen master: “We shall see what we shall see.”

Bruce4Real

Do you know what boggles the mind?

Some people in the media pretending they have Joba’s honor and welfare in mind when they try to get Joba all worked up on Huff’s “lack of respect while pumping his fist” I knew they were going to pull this crap when Joba pitched again against Baltimore.

Joba is too smart for that but he’s getting clearly annoyed by the non-stop questioning from these guys.

Bruce4Real

It wasn’t long ago (10 to 15 days tops) that the media had Joba under full court pressure for the gross crime of having family problems. They were phony then as they are now.

Just pitch your game plan Joba and have fun. Be aggressive, trust your stuff and stay focused. You are not alone out there my man.

That   Joba  RULES  is  no accident.

I have listened to a couple of radio/TV talk shows and they all have but buried the Mets even before they start their trip to Foston (for the Mets fans that derives from Buck Foston, get it? Anyway   . . .  ) and I’m sure foston players feel the same way. But on this week the stars are strangely aligned because the two NY teams need each other to stop their opponents in their tracks.

I have to say that the Yanks might be better positioned to do their part although that would run contrary to my credo: “no opponent should be underestimated” (with the way the Phillies are playing is obvious) which I had borrowed from the classy David Wright just a few games ago thus “every opponent should be treated with the utmost respect.”

I’m hoping the sux don’t pay attention to this axiom and the Mets bite them back for underestimating them.

Bruce4Real

So the Mets it seems (according to the experts in the media) are looking for a miracle and when they say that they are grossly underestimating the fighting spirit of this team which from all appearances seems to also coincide with Jerry Manuel’s thinking, do you see where I’m going? Anybody who says the Mets don’t stand a chance against foston should be tried for treason (for this weekend at least).
Bruce4Real

Some might say where is this idiot going with this?    . . . . .   just what we need. Just stay with me a bit longer. I think the Mets are looking for some form of inspiration and in this case it might involve almost a miracle.

FIAT!!!!  (Reyes goes that’s a cheap car from Italy Right? )

I give you the “NORTH DAKOTA STATE BISON” softball team in their first year of Division I eligibility. THE HOTTEST TEAM ON PLANET EARTH.

Bruce4Real

Not only they won their conference (the Summit League) championship but after they qualified for their first time ever (off course) participation in the NCAA Softball (we are talking here fastpitch Division I softball guys) Tournament they were slated to go to one of the NCAA Regional Tournaments,  this one in Norman, Oklahoma home of the SOONERS the perennial powerhouse ranked seventh overall in the nation with some of the best and fastest arms and bats in the Collegiate softball world.

That sounds bad enough right? Throw in a fierce competitor like the Arkansas Razorbacks and you have a pretty tough schedule. Do you want more? Ok how about the Conference USA champion Tulsa Golden Hurricane (Team batting AVG .294). BTW this conference has among its members the University of Texas El Paso (63 homeruns in 57 games), University of Houston Cougars, East Carolina Pirates (they had in Toni Paisley a 30 game winner with a 1.22 era).

Do you think Bison was a bit apprehensive? You bet!

Bruce4Real

The stage was set for either Tulsa or the Sooners to settle between themselves who would advance to the NCAA Super Regional against defending champions: the Arizona State Sun Devils.

The only problem was the North Dakota State Bison never got the memo.

Bruce4Real

So they went toe to toe against the Sooners once and against the hot Tulsa team twice (double elimination tournament) and with timely hitting and almost perfect pitching they WON the NCAA Regional (at Norman, Oklahoma) and advanced to face the NCAA defending champion Arizona State Sun Devils.
Bruce4Real

You’ll probably say but the “Mets only have one dominant pitcher with no run support” and the NDS Bison had a formidable 6’2’’ powerful hard throwing hurler with a 26-10 record and a 1.99 ERA and  you might be right   . . . . . . .  except this team had only 26 HR in 56 games this season but they are playing wonderful defense and this extraordinary pitcher is the antithesis of a Lady Vol Monica Abbott or the Texan Cat Osterman   . . . . . . .

She’s only 5’3’’ of sheer guts and she throws nothing but off speed stuff (she almost drove the Sooners coach and players nuts). Oh but she’s One Hundred Thousand percent heart, the pride of Chino, California and her name is Andi Padilla and goes by the nickname "Andilla Oompadilla"   . . . . . . . .    go figure.

Granted they might lose against the defending champion BUT that’s not the point as any great team like the Hofstra Pride will tell you just making it to the NCAA Regional is an enormous achievement in itself I repeat an ENORMOUS achievement specially for a young team getting their feet wet in Collegiate Softball the Division I type.

But SOMEHOW something tells me the North Dakota State Bison are not done yet     . . . . . . . . .   they’re dreaming bigger dreams    . . . . . . . . .    they are shooting for the stars.

As the Zen master likes to say: “We shall see.”

Bruce4Real

So Jerry Manuel and distinguished sports radio participants don’t tell me about the Mets problems and don’t tell me that for you the SUN won’t SHINE.

Ever heard about that team from North Dakota State?

Bruce4Real

Make them BELIEVE coach    . . . . . . .    that’s your job.

Where there is a will  . . . . . .

Bruce4Real

Meantime back on cloud nine the Yankees continue to win based strictly on horsing around and the occasional Jack

. . . . . . . . . . . .   Oh and with some help from their best pitcher ALFREDO ACEVES. Anybody has a problem with that?

Bruce4Real

To the daydreamers who bother to come to this site to make sure there is someone more delusional that themselves I will take a sabbatical; the Yankees are doing well and they are in great spirits I will follow one of my greatest passions: the NCAA Softball Tournament to its conclusion (and that requires some travel    . . . . . . .   best money I’ve ever spent) and I’m not taking my notebook with me.

I guess I’ll see you when I see you.

Bruce4Real

P.S. to the Yankees:

You haven’t won anything yet     . . . . . . . .     not by far.

Is anybody listening?
