Hi Yankee Fans ! My name is Robert, i have been a Yankee Fan since i was 5 years old, at 57 that means i have followed the Yankees every year for 52 years. When i lived and was raised in Brooklyn NY. I consider myself a very 'Loyal Fan' in that no matter how the Yankees are doing each year, i will never give up on them. In Baseball you must support your team if they win or lose. I'm dedicating this Forum to my deceased wife Lori, who was also a loyal Yankee fan, and my three Daughters 19, 22, and 26 who also love and root for the Yankees. I  wanted to have a Forum for any Yankee Fan that would like to post any "New News" in Yankee Baseball. As far as trades, free agent signings, on anything on and off the field gossip. And posts that will keep all informed

"New Yankee News' and New Gossip"

So Please feel free to post anything in the "New News in Yankee Baseball" and please! no abuse, no foul language, and no other posts on topic's not related to 'Yankee Most Recent News"

With the Giants signing the Phil's Aaron Roward today for a five year contract, that leaves another 'quality center fielder' off the free agent market.

I am concerned that if the Yankees do get back in the mix, and try to acquire Santana. And the Twins want Milky in the trade ! Then who do we have for center field ?

Cammeron from San Diego name was mentioned by the Yankees as a possible replacement. Which in looking at Cammeron's stats last year, and limited playing time due to injury. I feel we are taking a few steps backwards in Cammeron vs Milky.

We just cannot afford to acquire another 'injury prone' player. As we did with Damon, and Pavano, and others.

So my question to Yankee fans, is who is available to play center, if we should happen to lose Milky in a trade?  A. Jones, Roward, are gone ! is there any good player left in the free agency, or on the trading block ???  Undecided

well, the post or daily news (can't remember which one) reports that they would be interested in corey patterson if they moved one of their outfielders.

Read the same thing, i would like to have santana in the mix, despite loosing hughes and melkman.

Does anyone else think latroy hawkins is terrible?

Who else is really out there to fill jobas spot in the bp?

I can't comment on Hawkins, yet his #'s look very simular to Visciano.

Getting Santana, and most likely giving up Hughes, Milky, and a top AAA player. or if Minn insist on Kennedy too, will shake up the Yankee line-up. So they would have to aquire a solid fielding, and hitting center fielder.

It is a shame Hank waited too long to not get Hunter, Rowand or even power hitter A. Jones.

So now who is left ? Cory Patterson !! i need to check out his #'s as I'm not too familar with him. I know Cammeron is injury prone, and was doing drugs. And has i believe a 25 game suspension at the start of 2008. He would be a mistake, to recruit in CF.

Unless we have some stud in AAA the Yankees have had planned all the while, but! are keeping it private for the sake of Milky.

yeah, i don't know patterson's numbers, but i know he did play for the orioles last year pretty regularly.. (sat against some lefties).  definitely a solid basestealing threat.  do not know about his defense or his arm (although with his speed he must be able to cover a lot of ground).  the orioles batted him down near the bottom of the order (as robert's was their leadoff man).

I just wanted to wish all you Yankee Fans a Very Happy and Healthy Christmas, and a Fantastic New Year. It will be a very interesting year in 2008 for us Yankee Fans, as we have a Lot to look forward too.

With the three Youngsters in the starting rotation, along with Wang and Pettitte, i feel we will be solid in the starting pitcher dept.

We need to practice what we have been preaching for the past few years, in that we need to give the Youngsters from our AAA the chance to prove themselves. Just the uncertainty of how well the three Youngsters will do, is exciting in itself.

We know what Joba, and Hughes can do !! And for the little we seen Kennedy, i feel we have three promising young talentented pitchers, that could be the core of our starting pitchers for years to come.

As far as our team! we have the same team that led baseball in runs scored and in mostly every category, we were either at the top or close.

So! we know we will continue to get the run support.

It looks as though we have a very good bull-pen, and with Rivera our closer, we will be fine.

I hope Duncan gets to play on a regular basis, i have a good feeling about the kid, and with our new manager Girardi, he should be the perfect fit, for all the youngsters, and knows all the regulars also.

So! all in all i feel we will be right up there at the end of the year, and this time not having to play catch-up, we need to get out of the starting gate fast!!! Get ahead of every team in our division, and keep climbing from there.

Again! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year All you Yankee Loyal Fans... Robert

My Post today January 25th is reguarding the New Contracts for Robinson Cano

Robinson started with the Yankees three years ago, and as emerged as one of the 'Bright Spots' from there AAA minor league teams. In his first limited season, he was second runner up for the 'Rookie of the Year" with outstanding numbers in batting ave, runs battered in, and even home runs.

Then in his second year, he was second in the American League in Batting Ave, batting 340 with over 80+ rbi's and over 20 Hr's.Truly a "Banner Year" for only a second year player.

Last year he started off slow, but! so did all the Yankees, then mid season he built up momentum, in still batting over 300 and over 80 rbi's and respectable in Hr's. His defence has improved every year, and so has his confidence. And we all expect Robinson to have a 'Banner Year' in 2008.

This is why the Yankees, have went against there policy of financially compensating Robinson, as a young player a 30 Million Dollar Contract for only three year's. This might seem low according to MLB financial compensation, but considering the success he has had in only three years he certialy deserves it !!

Robinson adds many Intangebles in the Yankee Line-up. He is a positive force, very friendly, his constant smile is contagious to the other players, and his friendship with his long time friend Milky Cabarra is very obvious on and off the field. And he shows that he loves playing for the Yankees, and is very appreciated he has the chance to prove his baseball abilities.

Robinson, we wish you a 'Banner Year' in 2008

The Next Topic for Saturday January 26th is "The Twins need to make a move now !!!                     on Johan Santana..........Two time Cy-Young Winner !!

Before Spring Training Begins, According to the Minn Journal on January 20th 2008

The new Boss of the Yankees Hank Steinbrenner wants Santana really bad. Cashman, will follow with his decision. But Hal the other brother is more conservative with his, and his Dad's (George) money. After all 150 Million is allot of money, and Santana will want a six year contract,  will make him 35 years old. Long contracts for starting pitchers in their late 20's is way to risky! As they are more injury prone.

Yet! the real reason the Yankees, and Hank want to stay in the mix for Santana, is to keep him away from being recruited by Boston, which would give them two proven ace starters.

This is all about business, money!!! Because Hank knows with the advise from his expert financial advisors, that spending 150 million, will bring to the Yankees back a return in profit more then double what they pay him. Considering Santana, is a 'Gate Attraction' he will fill the seats, everytime he pitches, especially in the last year at the old Yankee Stadium. The Hispanic NY population, the media money, the ticket prices will increase, and especially marketing Santana with products, gear, promotions. So! to Hank it is an Investment, risky! but "life without Risk, is living only half a life"

My personal opinion, is that i would like to see the Mets get him, to keep Santana in the National League. Boston will not get him, and we will be just fine with Girardi's guidence, the new AAA pitching coach, now the Yankees new pitching coach who was the Yankees three Younster's Joba, Hughes, and Kennedy coach in AAA.

With Pettitte, Wang, Joba, Hughes and Kennedy...we will be in contention from the starting bell! to win the Division, win the Playoffs, and World Series........ Go Yankees!!! 2008 will be our year.

THE TOPIC FOR SUNDAY JANUARY 27TH 2008

THE YANKEES 2008 STARTING LINEUP ACCORDING TO JOE GIRARDI

Hello Yankee fans it's a great day here in sunny New Mexico, where there are many Yankee fans. Due to many New Yorkers moving to this beautiful State, especially here in Albuquerque  "The Land Of Enchantment"

Today's article will be about the Yankees 'starting line-up according to new Manager Joe Giraddi. But first today Sun January 27th the big Baseball Rumor is that the Twins announced that Johan Santana will be definitly traded within the next ten (10) days!! as they agreed the Twins and Santana, that he will not attend Spring Training which starts Feb 15th . This will be very interesting, considering that the sox have taken off Jon Lester off the trading table. So i would say the Yankees and Mets would be the front-runners in any trade. Or some other MLB team, could jump into the mix, which will be highly unlikely, due to the large contract Santana is asking for 150 million over six (6) years.

Now! about today's topic!!! Girardi is considered by many to be a young player's Manager, in that when he discovers young talent, he will play them, and give them the time needed to adjust from the minor league level to the Majors. With the Marlins in 2006 when he became "Manager of the Year"proves this is true.

With the Marlins he had six (6) starters with under a year of experience in the Majors, and his team became a 'breeding ground' for highly talented young players.

The reason i'm bringing this up! is because with the direction the Yankees want to go now, with youth!! he is the perfect manager to lead the team. Not only with our "Dynamic Trio" of starting pitchers, Hughes, Chamberlain and Kennedy, but also Shelley Duncan, who he said will start the season at first base.(According to 'Baseball Digest' just last week.

With the Yankees leading baseball in 2007  with 'Runs Scored' there is no reason to "break something that is not broken" !! And with now A-Rod lifetime committment, Posada's and Rivera's large contract, they will be very motivated to show the Yankees there appreciation for giving them lifetime security.

The starting line-up according to Joe Girardi (of course that could change baring injuries, or a player or more having an excellent 'spring training'

1- Johnny Damon LF   (leading off)

2- Derek Jeter ss  3- Bobby Abaru rf  4- A-Rod 3b   5- either Jason Giambi or Hideki Matsui alternating as DH, also with Matsui alternating (not often) with Damon in lf.

6- Jorge Posada c    7- Shelley Duncan 1B  also in a limited role alternating with Giambi as DH-1B

8- Milky Cabara cf  9- Robinson Cano 2B (who signed a 30 million contract) which will make him play at top form, having now job-security.

So top to bottom of the Yankees batting order will have a combination of proven starters with long experience, and 2-3 year newer players, plus Duncam, which this will be his first full -season.

Again, Spring Training will show Girardi who will be ready to have a starting position, as far as who comes to spring training in excellent physical condition, and who plays the best, and has the motivation to be a starter. Therefore the starting line-up can change! But! it is highly unlikely.

THIS WILL BE A BANNER YEAR FOR THE YANKEES TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES !!!!

THE TOPIC FOR MONDAY JANUARY 28TH

"THE YANKEES CURRENT BULL-PEN RELIEF PITCHERS FOR 2008"

Also if any Yankee Fans have a New Yankee Topic they would like to discuss, please feel free to 'JUMP IN' And we will add to that topic, as the Best Yankee Opinion's come from the Loyal Fans. !!

If you Yankee Fans are excited in knowing that we will have three very young pitchers in our starting rotation, then you will be equality excited in knowing that our bull pen/relievers are mostly just as young!!! The only potenial problem i see, is we only have three LH pitchers Kei Igawa, Sean Henn, and Chase Wright in our bullpen, which could be a problem for the many left hand power hitters in the AL Eastern div. BuT! i'm sure in spring training next month, the aces will appear, as Giraddi and his new AAA pitching coach have an eye for young talent.

Here is a list of the Yankees 2008 Current Rooster for Relievers:

1- Mariano Rivera, a legend! and with his New Contract will excell in 2008

2- Johnathan Albaladejo  RHP Rookie 1.88 era in only 14 games in 2007

3- Chris Britton RHP 3.55 era aquired from Baltimore in 06

4- Andrew BrackmanRHP  Rookie

5- Sean HennLHP 7.12 era been w/h us since 05, with allot of promise.

6- Kei IgawaLHP  Aquired from Japan in 2007 needs help on his delivery, and confidence. 6.25 era

7-Jeff KarstensRHP 11.05 in only 15 games in 07, but! also allot of promise.

8- Jeffrey MarquezRookie w/h allot of promise.

9- Ross Ohlendorf  came over in the Sheffield trade from the Tigers. 2.84 era  RHP.

10-Scott Patterson Rookie  RHP

11- Edwar Rookie RHP pitched in 21 games for the Yankees in 2007 8.14 era

12- Humberto SanchezRHP Rookie

13- Jose Verras  RHP 5.79 era  Rookie

14- Steven White  RHP Rookie allot of promise.

15- Chase Wright LHP (finally   7.20 era only 36 innings in 2007

16- Kyle Farnworth 4.80 era RHP, throws in the high 90's, with tutoring will become very good this year. Came in a trade in 06 from Atlanta.

17- Brian Burney RHP 4.68 era came from Arizona in 2005.

Well that's it, and the Yankees only have to choose from the best in spring training. It will be very interesting to say the least.....

How come no one posts on here?
YankeeFan4Ever

Roger!! trust me, once the spring training starts in two weeks, many people who read Newsday will come on the "Only public viewed Yankee Talk Back" on Newsday. So your in the right place.  My friend Randy, who is an apprentice editor here on Newsday, and was a Newsday paper carrier w/h me in Copiague L.I. when we were youngsters, gives me all the inside-scoop. He said this Forum will be swamped with Yankee readers, as soon as the Baseball season spring training starts. And my friend said! they are watching this Forum 'like they do on the Gambling Tables" in Las Vegas...hahaha... for anything abusive!!!! they will not tolerate what is going on at, the old forum.

Have a Great Day, Robert

YankeeFan4Ever

Roger, thank you for those kind words. But! i certainly don't deserve any credit for the Talk Back Forum, I'm just another poster, who wants to have a Yankee Forum, that is positive, constructive with Yankee comments, and different opinions, no 'bad news' posts !! clean! as the general public views this New , and soon to be, only 'Yankee Posting Forum'

And with spring training, next month !! the Yankees new young Manager Girardi, the three young guns !!! in our starting rotation. And finally the Yankees going with youth, especially in our rotation, and bull-pen. I'm sure like you feel !!! It will a very interesting! yet exciting 2008 season.
