The GM post is still on!! under the Forum Moderators post, which is the top forum. Did you notice they added about "TALK BACK" The fans post ? That is to let people know that this is a opinion forum, for the Fans to come on and post!!! And i would not be surprized if even Pedro ( knock down Old man Zimmer) Martinez comes on to post !!!!! After all like he said "I'm so clean and did it my way" He was clean alright!!!! As he spent most of last year on the bench, complaining about his injury !!!!!!  And i met Jeter a few days after 9/11 I was voluntering for the Red Cross drawing blood, in a factory close to 9/11 I have a medic degree from the service. And he came in my line to give blood. We just said a few words. Also the actor George Clooney, and a few other actors, broadway stars, i drew blood from... Maybe i should highlight this post in all "RED" hahahah...
This is sooooo cool. Pedro might come on here too to post? Thats great. I'd love to post back to major leaguers. Thanks ringleader Robert. Can I call you that from now on? Whens the Yankee GM coming back? Will any of the Steinbrenners post on here?

"WHY THE YANKEE YOUNGSTERS WILL LEAD US TO OUR 27TH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP"

I read many Media, Newspaper, Internet, Radio, and ESPN sportswriters, and read Headlines of NewsPapers, and Internet News sites "Headlines" on Doubt!! about our Younsters. Especially our "Dynamic Trio, Joba, Hughes, and Kennedy." Most articles say! because there young, they need to mature more, and build up more tollerance for the Game. They Will Burn Out !!! Their Enexperience will pay it's toll"

and many other negitive, doubtfull posts and articles. And I'm Sick Of Their Negitivism !!!

Okay !!! Now! here is the way i see it !!! There assumptions are wrong!! In fact it has been proven over again, that the younger the player, the more stamina they have, the more indurance. More Strength!!, the younger player can far out last the older yet more experienced player.

The Yankee Youngsters in all positions! especially 'Shelley Duncan (donut)' He has the most ability, and determination. And also he proven he can 'reach for the fences' In his very limited role in 07 thanks to Torre wanting to play the vets, before promising young talant like Duncan.

So Duncan goes out and hit's i believe from 7-9 hr's in only limited plate appearences.

The Youngsters, will be 'hungry' to do their very best, with all the competition they will compete against !!! They don't want to go back down to 'lonely AAA' Plus! they want all their teammates to also do well ! BUT! as long as they get to stay on the Yankees.

Plus Girardi is real strict with hand written rules. Where-as Torre had no rules, he relied on their professional attitude and conduct .

Youngsters are doing 'great' in other sports. Like Basketball's LeBron, Carmella, Paul, and many others! they are dominating the NBA. Same as in Football !!! Manning is what 24? and he already won a "Super Bowl" !!!!  and Hockey!! The 'Superstars' are all young !! like Sydney Crosby !!! Our Younsters will add a 'new excitment' to the Veterans !! to make them even more 'team oriented'  I will put my money on the Youngsters anyday !!!!!! "Go Youngster Yankees"

This is what I want to read. Great post. You are a great poster. Yanks win #27 WS. Lets get some more good posters on here. We depend on you since you're the ringleader here, ok Ringleader Robert. I tried to do some recruiting of other posters on another Yankee forum. However it was just a haven for bad posters. The slang words, the nasty insults and the pics of half naked women drove me away from it. Little kids could see this. Its terrible. That forum was such a turn off.

My question to all great Yankee fans is this; Who will have the better walk year this year, Moose or Giambi?
BDIS

Great question Autoleaser. My question to all great Yankee fans is this; What are the chances they can sign Clemens again midway thru the year? He would want to prove himself. It would be a great move. Any thoughts?

WHAT THE YANKEES NEED TO CHANGE THIS SEASON FOR THE MISTAKES OF 2007

Business the same as sports, you must learn every year by your mistakes, so they are not repeated. The Yankees need to learn by many mistakes in 2007, so that this year will be better.

The first mistake is to never undermind the Managers decision, in order to play. Last year with Mike Mussina, Jason Giambi, and a few others felt they could play, even though they were recovering from injuries. With Mussina, no matter how many games he got 'shell-shocked' he still insisted to manager Torre, that It was just his mechanics' that were off, and his timing. And he was ready to pitch in his next start in the rotation. He was thinking of himself, and not the team. As his next outing was worse, or as bad as the last one.

Also, the Yankees have to give up on Betimet!! why Torre played him so much is beyond me!! he struck out many times with the bases loaded, his average was low, and his fielding was questionable.

Then the "Joba Rule" implemented by GM Brian Cashman. This had to be one of the worst decision's of 2007. Why limit a young pitcher, when he had so much more to offer as far as his stamina and strength. Joba wanted to pitch more, and conveyed this to Torre. But! Cashman had to stand firm with his decision, then eventually changed the 'Joba Rule in amount of pitches' slowly. Until they went to him much more into the Playoffs.

The benching of the Youngsters who were doing good. To me Shelley Duncan, when he was in his Home Run groove last year, hitting 7-9 Hr's in only 28 at bats, was one of the highlights of 2007. He added also much excitment to the Yankees, with his kid-like motivation, and his excitment for just being a Yankee.

When Cano and Milky and Duncan, and even Joba were doing there dug-out celebrations after a Hr, or rbi, they were actually asked to tone it down by! Don Mattingly!!! Another big mistake in 07. You just can't tone down enthusium in the young players. Especially when it rubs off on some of the Yankee vets, who just sat on the bench, and clapped their hands if the team did something on the field positive.

Also the lack of Motivation by Joe Torre. It seemed that after the 2000 World Series win, and the illness of Joe's brother, Torre lacked enthusium in the dug-out. In fact with constantly sitting on the bench, during the game, he looked bored!!! and not into the game. In fact a few times the media camera's caught him dozing-off during the games.

This will be the opposite this season, as Girardi is a very enthusiastic man, full of energy, and full of love for the Yankees. He said "I always wanted to manage the Yankees, since i was so young".

Another problem Torre had, that needs to be changed, is keeping in the pitcher too long, when the other team was hitting him, he was walking too many batters, or giving up too many runs. This was often the case with Mussina! he let Mussina stay in maybe 4-5 more batters then he should have. By then the game was out-of reach, and the Yankees found themselves playing catch-up.

Another problem we had, was Torre alternating too many first basemen. Joe did not give Shelley much of a chance to prove he can play First base, by quickly alternating him for Giambi, Betimit, Mein. and on and on. We need an everyday first baseman, and in spring training, i feel the answer will be very obvious!!!

This year Girardi will not make the same mistakes over and over, as Manager of the Marlins, he learned very quickly what was wrong, and he made corrections, to make sure those same mistakes did not keep continue.

The old saying is !!!! "If that square does not fit into the circle !! then you need to make Bold Changes"

Robert,

With the Yankees losing the last 3 years in the 1st rd of the playoffs, wouldn't you just be happy if they win a playoff round. Do they have to win the WS to satisfy you? How high are you setting the standards this year with a new mgr?

Sorry, I forgot to color in the post

QUESTION FOR THE DAY! SUNDAY FEBRUARY 17TH 2008

HOW WILL THE MEDIA ON THE CLEMENS SCANDAL HURT ANDY'S PERFORMANCE AS STARTING PITCHER

Andy Pettitte Monday has media day, and will face almost every New York Newspaper, Radio, and TV columinst. There is no getting around the media. If he just briefly answers the questions, short and to the point! he will be okay, as he does not want to give the media any more infomation that is already out there. Then he needs to block it out, and go full-steam into spring training, with the other starting pitchers, to keep his mind into training, and how Girardi's managment style fit's into his philosophy.

He also has to realize that he will be under the microscope with the dedicated Yankee Fans, and block out the boos, for him using HGH. The Yankee fans, will treat him as good as he pitches, so his way of winning over the fans, naturally is to pitch well !!! Also he has to realize the Yankee fans, will not tolerate anything less then a good performance from Andy. Otherwise that will give the Fans a reason to get on him.

I always say!! the best come-back at angry fans, who might be adament because of Andy throwing Roger under the bus !! When in all reality, he really did not have to. He could have very easlily said; "I don't remember any conversation with Roger in reguard to HGH/Steriods." All his testimony did was open up a can of worms, that only hurt Roger's already damaged credibility more.

So the best way to win-over the Yankee fans, " Is Massive Success" on the playing field.

After all he brought on this controversy about his conversations with Roger without even being pressed by Mitchell and the Investigators. So now he has to eat crow, and deal with the Media Attention. But! when it is time to play, or start, or even practice!!!! That has to be his #1 Priority.

I know your just being sarcastic!!! Let me answer that question about Roger pitching for the Yankees again !!! NEVER. His pitching days for any Big League team is also finished, as no team would want a player of Roger's Status, with all the HGH/Seriod controversy all around him. Roger will be very lucky, if he get's a pardon from Bush! Or the Mitchell committe let's it go !!! It is highly unlikely !!! As the Goverment did not invest this amount of time and money into the Mitchell Report, without nailing some big names in baseball !!!!

Also with Barry Bonds facing an Inditment, and purjery charges, the 'Bonds Legal Team' will cry prejudise, and favortism because Roger is carcasion.

So! Roger has enough to do, to still  prove his innocence, and salvage his already tarnished career.

I hope Roger comes back and they go to a 7 man rotation with Wang, Clemens, Petitte, Hughes, Kennedy, Moose and Joba. Put Hawkins in the set up role for the 8th inning.

By the way, Clemens is caucasian. Whats carcasion? Keep up your good posts. You're my favorite poster on Topix. Hey, how cool was it that Joba recognizes and posts here on this forum
