I will start off in the BP. I hope everyone else lives up to your expectations. I have to get back to tossing the ball around, catch ya later

How can I accept Andy as my teammate this year as he clearly broke the players code by snitching on Roger? He's a rat and now I have to share the lockerroom with him. Please tell me how I should handle this
| Number1YankeeFanPosts: 67Location: Join Date: February 5, 2008 1:07 AMSend Message | jimmy, the spell checker sometimes works sometimes does not!!! but! who is noticing now anyways !!!! hahaha. I really don't think my predictions are that far off!!!! If i had a crystal ball, i would be more accurate. I always like to think the starting players are going to do better, then they will. It is better to exceed a Goal, then undermind one. Matsui, with the surgery done and healed, said he feels like 3-4 years ago. So he should exceed his totals from last year. More HR's i would predict. Giami, will steal a couple not on his speed! on a catcher dropping a ball, or bad throw to 2nd. Heck! in 162 games we could even steal a few. Mussina, you know how i feel about!!! And there is no reason the three Youngsters can't win in double digits. If they pitch every 4-5th game. They proved last year that they can pitch in ,Major League level. Pettitte must pitch well! or the fans in NY will eat him alive, with the steriod scandal, so he has to win at least 16. Bobby could steal more, but! i don't know Girardi's management style, until the season get's underway!! Was he a manager for the Marlins that liked to steal? Cano, with his big 4 year contract, wants to prove himself, as does Milky! That the Yankees made a wise decision in not trading him. What about Pavano ? Is he staying in AAA, or could he be the "comeback player of the year" hahah.... it would not take him much to exceed his first three years. Go for it, with your predictions!!! It seems to be, when the Yankees were 14 behind, last year i had to post some optimisim into (without mentioning names) Yankee Fans. So! in saying that!!! anything can happen!! A New Manager, A young Team, and excitment we both have not seen since 2000. And Hank, will be more demanding then George was since he got ill. So let's see how far your predictions are to mine, and i would pay that $50.00 like Clemens said "In a New York minute" hahaha.... And Joba!!! come on! you should be tested, and live up to your dynamic reputation. It's time to stop going to book stores, and all the post season events, and start proving to the Yankees, and all the teams you will pitch against "That you are the Real Deal" Of course all my predictions are predicated on everyone staying healty!!! right Carl ? hahahah.......

That's a tough question, as i don't know what a rat feels like !!! I would hope that most of the players will support him for coming forward (dumb as/s) but! that's just me. The best way to get through this season (and maybe his last as he's thinking) is to pitch his Heart out! the players will be more receptive. And the fact that he was Roger's best friend, then anyone on the Yankees, who would show in public! (maybe in there thinking) to Andy that he is a rat ?Robert, because you are such a great fan and person in lfe, maybe you can help me here. As 2 God Fearing guys, help I ask of you. But! as a Christian man, and if the other players are mostly God loving men, then they should forgive him! As they all have specks in their own eyes !!!! Then when Andy meets his maker!! (as he so boldly say's) Then he will have to answer for God for being a Rat !! a Snitch. And because God is a Yankee Fan, and he threw Roger way under the Grayhound Bus!!!! who knows how God will feel? hahahaha........ Poor Andy!!! But! like in Goodfellas 1- You always keep your mouth shut 2- You never rat on your friends. So Andy is lucky he was not a 'made man' or he would be visiting God sooner then later. God! at least let Andy pitch us to the World Series... then he's yours....

It is funny you mention about Giambi!!! I just read an article in "Sporting News" about Giambi. He say's he is in the best of physical health that he has been in years. He had the same strength coach as Johnny Damon, and he feels like this will be a break-out year for him. Why is that always the case when players are in their contract year? If only every year they signed contracts for the season they just finished, then players would be paid for there last year performance. Case in point Pavano !!! So far three years, and has contributed nothing for the Yankees. What if Pavano has a 17 game win record, like he did when he was with the Marlins ? Very doubthfull! but! in baseball you never know.Tonight, my question to all the great Yankee fans is this; Can Giambi also be a position player this year like part time CF or 3B to rest Arod and Damon and Melky? He looks healthy to me and is very athletic So! if Jason's prediction is correct!!!! then he will be sharing time at First Base with Shelley Duncan !!! who i personally feel will have a great year, as long as he plays allot. Not like Torre didn't do last year. But! let's expect jason to live up to his words......

| Number1YankeeFanPosts: 67Location: Join Date: February 5, 2008 1:07 AMSend Message | WHY JOE GIRARDI WILL LEAD THE YANKEES TO THERE 27TH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP As Hank Steinbrenner said today!! Joe Girardi will go down as one of the best yankee managers of all time !!! Pretty strong words, as he has not even start the season yet!!! But! somethimes Owners have a gut feeling about players, coaches, and managers !! My feelings about Joe are very good. From what i read in how he is organizing spring training, the players are starting to win his respect!!! That will be the most important challenge for Joe, to win the respect of all his players. Girardi, has a very committed work ethic, in that he is treating spring training seriously!! Unlike Torre, where the players were basically free to come and go, and practice at their own pace. That is not how Joe runs Spring Training, he pushes the players to do more then Torre ever did, in running, baseball fundamentals, bunting, moving players over a base to score, hitting very hard balls in the outfield corners, and in the infield, and most important!!! Everyone he treats the same, from A-Rod to Duncan. So he is setting a standard in spring training!! "That there will be absolulty no favortism" like Torre had. If the players want to play, and on a consistant basis, they must prove themselves, not because of there past accomplisments. Joe is fiery !!! Like Hank said! like Billy Martin but without the baggage. Joe, unlike Martin has a stable family life, wife and children. So he has no issues off the field, that could effect his performance on the field. Joe is a competitor !!! He likes to win ! and whatever it takes to win, and whatever players are contributing to winning he will play. It does not matter to Joe, if it is a vetern or a youngster !!! Joe also will defend his team on the field, and show his players that he will back them 100% unlike the passive managment style of Torre. And finaly!! Joe will do wonders with the Youngsters, who he believes in ! just like he did for the Marlin youngsters. His age is more condusive, then the much older Torre. So he will be able to relate more to the youngsters, on their performance, on giving them the chance to prove themselves. And his motivation and excitment for the game, will rub off on all the Yankee Players. So let's goe Joe! prove to all the doubting fans, and sportswriters there wrong. As the best revenge is "Massive Success"
