One of the best things for the current is the PERMANENT absence of the 'laid-back, scowling, water drinking' Joe Torre. Girardi will conduct a better camp/regular season, and hold players accountable and responsible... unlike his predecessor. Torre should forever count his blessings that he 'lucked-up' on the Yankee job (after a sub-.500 NL managing career). He made the expression--"push botton manager", fashionable. I was glad to read that Joe Girardi is once again making 'fundamentals' a part of the game...which we were told that Torre would usher in, due to his NL background. At any rate this season should be a BANNER year!

What are you going to do at the end of April when the Dodgers are in first and the Yankees are struggling?  You'll be wishing Joe was the manager.  And scooter......HOLLLY COWL!

TIME FOR ACCURACY IN THE BLOGS... the cheap shot play from an aggresive tampa player, caused a fracture in the arm, IT IS NOT A LONG TERM INJURY AS SOME INACCURATE BLOGSTER MAY HAVE YOU BELIEVE.  for sure, not something you do in spring training, but, it has happened before. a few days ago, carl crawford did the same thing to another team. tampa is trying to install a different attitude with its younger players. i do not condone it, but, they are trying to no longer be doormats. unacceptable to hurt players in spring training...now, back to true yank news, not bluster as on one forum. yanks now worried about moose and his velocity. it is in print, not made up here. there is a slight chance of an outright release, or trade. if he has a no trade, it could be a major problem. i have stated this before, the guy is done. he is a 5th starter or long man at best. yanks might run in a good problem, what to do with shelly. he needs playing time. not bench time. it appears the last years of jason, moose and farnsworth will be interesing, to say the least. anyone look at the joe torre dodgers.?? off to slow start. sound familar?? if his team starts the season that way, he will be labeled quickly. REMEMBER, THIS IS A BLOG, NO MORE, NO LESS, NOT A FRANTIC CRY FOR "ALL THE GOOD POSTERS, LIKE THE EGO MANIAC"

I don't usually pay too much attention to baseball until June, but this year is a little different since St. Joe is gone and Sgt. Joe is in charge.  I am looking forward to the start of the season next week.  The Red Sox are in Japan with the Nationals I believe and the Yankees look as though the're having a good Spring.  I think Sgt. Joe will be good for the team and the younger players will get a chance to show their wares.  Mariano will be used the right way and so will Joba, Kennedy, Hughes and the rest of the crew.  I stopped on the Yankees channel while surfing this morning and saw Shelly Duncan in the outfield, was that just to get some work in, or is he going to be the outfielder instead of Matsui?

Experience teaches you to recognize a mistake when you've made it again.

good to see yanks win 4 in a row. however, farns has proven he is no 8th inning guy, nor is hawkins...yanks have no automatic guy like joba was...
