Just that it was a hs Summer league game.really sucks because he was doing extremely well on the AAU circuit . I will try to fing out exactly what happened. Some players go out and try to hurt the best player on the opposing team I hope that wasn't the case.

In another HS summer league game the very talented kid from Sayville had to get 15 stitches lucky for him he can still play out his summer. In a game against Bayport Neal Fisheden was repeatedly mauled by the Bayport team but the racist refs never called any fouls on BP. Sad...but true. On the play Neal fish had to get his stitches on (15) the racist refs actually called a tech on Neal!!!! Sorry state of affairs South on Sunrise HWy.  Bayport shame on you for playing dirty bball!!! Shout out to my man Myles, get well soon.....

Thats what i dont like about the summer league games, that someone's star player could get hurt and that can ruin an entire season even be4 the tryouts begin. If this ended kamil's senior season i am going to be very dissappointed and upset because that kid could of had a special senior season and if you saw him play the last couple of years you would know what i mean by that. I am really hoping that he isnt out for the season. That would really suck if he is.

honestly these things can happen anywhere... it can certainly happen in any AAU game, in a workout, in a pickup game, or just hangin' out with friends and taking a funny step.  you can hardly blame summer league games for injuries.  as the saying goes, sh..er... stuff happens.

it's very unfortunate and hopefuly the injury isn't that bad.  didn't the same thing happen to the kid from Lutheran last summer?

The dirtiest basketball I observe is in Suffolk County. The refs give approval or at least tacit approval by not saying or doing anything to control it. It looks like there is no supervision of any consequence with the officials. There is no room in sports for thuggery. Coaches who teach it or condone it should be fired. Officials that allow it should be fired also. There are distinct differences between aggressive basketball and what I see in Suffolk County. To intentionaly go after players has no part in HS sports. I watched JJ More get manhandled all last yr. Others suffered the same fate. It is just wrong. If it is being taught or even condoned by coaches they have no business being around kids

Kamil was having a great summer he had led his Lindenhurst team to two victories over Half Hollow Hills West with Tobias and Tyler Harris. Hopefully rehab will be kind to him and he will be able to return for at least part of his senior year.

Does anyone know exactly how he was injured? Was it just a bad step or something more dramatic?? Hopefully his recovery will be swift and complete so his future won't be compromised.

Summer League games were never as competitive as games down at Port Jeff Harbor during the 70's.  Sorry to hear about the injuries.  But, to get better in hoops, you have to play the game often. They do spectacular things with ACL's now.  You never know.

As far as Summer League dirty play, that is why the playground always leveled the playing field.  Dirty play on the blacktop get the appropriate response.

On the playground you don`t have stupid refs letting kids thug around good players. You thug me around and don`t play correctly it comes right back to you. The stupid ### officials let all kinds of bs go against good players and then call the response. Probably because if they actually played the game, they had no game and are envious

See your point. But, I don't remember an official one way or the other in anything that I did as an athlete whether it was football, basketball, baseball or track.

Most officials makes sure it stays clean.  On the playground, I must agree, the chippy stuff gets dealt with by everyone - very quickly.  Simple rule there - defense calls the fouls means that dirty play gets a payback.

Not from what I have seen the past yr and summer. Some teams play good hard hoops. Others play dirty basketball. The officiating was terrible. Kids were held. pushed ,cleared out, guarded with illegal techniques( arm guarded) and ignored by officials. Most of these officials(not all) either do not no the rules or choose to ignore them. Specific points of emphasis about establishing position and not physically taking players out of position and illegally keeping players from movement were particularly ignored. As my college coach (national rules Interp.) often said " the level of basketball in any region cannot be better then the level of officiating". How many D1 and D2 schollys in Suffolk last yr?????

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum. 4 techs in a summer league game for deliberate rough play. There is a god, and some refs that know the gameLaughing Get more refs that have actually played the game
