Jack Foley, former AD at Ward Melville died this week. Suffolk County has lost one of the great friends of basketball to ever live here. I met him in 1960 when he was a young coach at Setauket and our lives have been intertwiined since. He truely made Suffolk and Long Island into a basketball meca during the 70s and 80s. as Suffolk Basketball Chairman. He was mostly responsible for starting the State tournys that we all love. He was a mentor for young coaches and ADs all over the Island. He is resonsible for modified sports and for starting girls sports as actual varsity teams in the 60s. He will be sorely missed
