This is a tremendous disservice to all of the dedicated bowlers who look for their name or at least their school name the day after the match. I realize that the web page is available, but that is a poor excuse. Please attempt to rectify this horrendous situation...sports are for kids!!! Steve Abrams Coach, LONGWOOD HIGH SCHOOL

I spoke with gregg sarra yesterday, he did promise the stats will be in at least the rest of the bowling season. It just does not seem fair to totally keep the bowlers out of the paper 100%. Alot of people do not have computers and they do enjoy reading your paper, my mother and mother-in-law are disappointed in not being able the follow the bowling through the lack of information in your paper. I hope there will be some changes not just for this year but all years ahead as long as there is bowling in the high schools, it was always reported in previous years. It is a shame that Newsday did not pay any attention to steve abrams letter. Shame on Newsday, and shame on us for not writing to you sooner. Good work Steve Abrams.

It's almost as if a sport with no grunts or groans (ie. wrestling, football and the like) doesn't have the right to be acknowledged. The amount of time that our bowlers spend practicing and improving their skills is equal to any other varsity level sport. On top of that they truly exemplify the true meaning of sportsmanship ... Watch and listen to who is doing some of the loudest cheering as an opponent bowls that perfect or near perfect game. A little recognition would go a long way to show these athletes and their equally dedicated coaches and parents the respect they so well deserve.
