That is the site that has the boys records all smudged together and hard to read accurately.

On two separate occasions I've tried to copy and paste them onto a reply in this forum, only to see that the reply is not posted.  Maybe the forum can somehow sense that the material is copied and doesn't allow you to posted material that is copied from another website (copyright infringement problems?).  So, my suggestion is to open your word processing software and copy the records that you want to print by dragging the cursor across and down until all of the records listed are highlighted.  Then paste it onto your word processor and you should be able to read the records posted.  Hope this works for you because it has worked for me.

Yesterday was the Suffolk Girls Frosh/Soph Championships at Longwood HS. Did Newsday not know about this? Do they not come out in the rain?  The athletes do! Maybe we need to let Newsday about http://www.just-in-time-racing.com. Today is the Boys Frosh/Soph Championships at Longwood HS. Is anyone from Newsday planning on attending?  Will they show up at any of the remaining Suffolk meets?

As far as all the records everyone has posted, thats the list I was looking at. They are not all up to date and some have been beaten.

Newsday will never be at freshman-sophmores and it makes sense for that one. For them to put the results in it would be like them putting JV football or basketball games in. However the divisions, states quals, and states are going to be very competitive this year, great individual and teams fighting neck and neck.

Also some records may fall and these are some of the best in the country unlike some other more covered sports.

You are right a Freshmen/Sop****re meet is equal to JV. It just is so frustrating that Newsday covers track so poorly. The best vs the best at many of these meets and Newsday does not even mention the meet happened.

Well you guys keep doing what your doing.  Keep working off your tails, keep making All State, All American, and keep going to big time colleges and universities and sooner or later they will notice.  Id say atleast a few runners from long island the last few years will run in the olympics and we can't say that for any other sport.  Great work!!!!!!

I do feel Newsday has put in more than last year and hope they continue.  They do deserve some credit because there are more articles and spring track had something atleast a few times a week and more than a few n-zone athletes of the week.

I also feel we all on here have a lot to do with that since we forced them to shut down the sites, and stopped buying papers.  For any of you runners Newsday may not have the times, space, or effort, or whatever it may be to put track and xc in here.   I know for a fact all the local papers will. Plenty of local papers for every school disctrict and they post more pictures and articles because they cover a smaller area.

Good luck the rest of the season and if you can run again this season(divisions or state quals) then run, run for today like you never ran before, give it all you have because of your love for the sport and because you never know what tomorrow will bring!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Longwood Fr./So. Championships were a great event and great job by all runners.  The girls ran in the pouring rain and showed us how dedicated they are!  The future looks great for Suffolk County Track and field!  At the meet an Open Girls 2000m Steeplechase was run open to grades 9-12th.  Senior Christine Johnston from Longwood ran a awesome time of 7:17 in poor weather conditions to win the event and qualify for Nike Nationals. Last week Christine led her team to the 6th straight league title 36-0. Last year Longwood Girls won the Suffolk County Track Championship. Congrats to the Longwood Girls Team, and Christine for an amazing 6 years on the track running whatever event for the success of the team.

Newsday has the right to cover whatever they want. There are lots of HS sports on Long Island.

I for one know that all the girls who were at the Fresh/Soph meet gave everything that we had to give. It took so much dedication to run in the pouring rain. You didnt cover every athlete in your splurge Trackcoaching.. just teh longwood athletes. and that isnt right, because i know that i worked my tail off to come in first at that meet in the 100m, so i am now soph champ in the 100m. here are all the results, dont just single out your school or particular athletes, because we all deserve the right amount of coverage.

Thats what I was talking about when I said to mention everyone at the meet.

Any news from day 1 of the Boys or Girls Suffolk County Division Championships. Anyone from Newsday at either meet? Do they plan to cover Day 2 of either meet?

Suffolk Girls Track Division Championship Results: Division III  on Newsday on line. I have not seen the paper yet to see if they have anything in there but why only Division III? Division I and II were at the same meet? Glad to see something but it seems half a$$.

Ok so I just saw the Newsday paper and they did include Division i and II

Rumor has it the Bellport boys sprinters aren't running because they've been suspended.  Something about the football field starting construction that would have caused the boys divisionals to be moved from Bellport's track, so the sprinters took a stand and led a rally to delay the construction and keep the meet at Bellport's track...and got suspended for their troubles.  They run very well so it's a shame if true.  If Newsday is sending someone out to the track for the second day on Monday, they ought to investigate.  Having grown up in a town where football is king, it sounds all too plausible that anyone who stands up to football will be crushed by the administration.

i can't complain about the article really, because Janie is my teammate =)

GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!! Undefeated League and Division Champs!

What a great day of track and field at Suffolk Division championships. To all who ran, jumped, or tossed, you should be proud and honored  just to participate in the meet. It meant that all your hard work and dedication proved you are the best Suffolk County has to offer. Some very entertaining events but I found the Div III high jump to be unreal! Two very talented boys jumping way over their heads was fantastic. 6'8"!!!!! Of course congrats to Middle Country and Coach Soto on their DI victory. It was awesome. Miles Lewis once again proved he is the best sprinter/jumper in the county with an impressive 4 golds. Honorable mention should go to Ian Haney aka Ironman for placing in 4 events(400,200,4x1 and 4x4). Mr Franklin should be noted for his multiple events-very hard to do that many distance runs. Once again Newsday drops the ball. One third of a page!!!!!. Nassau AA gets 2 thirds-40 participants at most vs 3 divisions of T and F with HUNDREDS of participants. At least they mentioned Miles. Congrats also to Amityville and Smithtown West on their Divisoin victories.

Last weeks girls Division Championships was also a great two days, with many races having the expected results.  I was looking forward to the last HS match-ups in D1 (800 and 1500) between SM (Bay Shore), LG (Sachem) and SA(Ward Melville).  I was disappointed to find out that LG was out for the season.  Good luck the rest of the season and in college girls.  You've given the fans many exciting races.
