I believe Long Beach wins again in a very close and fast Nassau County Championship. I wonder will Section 8 have state champions this year? Will Lane break the State Record?

Finally someone else who follows this sport....

I heard that Lane already went 4:31 at the START meet in Buffalo. THATS FAST? When did Jericho get a good team? How come newsday didnt mention Garden City as a team to look out for? YOu have Finnegan and Lane??

Who is Newsday going to name as Top 10 teams on Long Island? It's got to be Long Beach or Melville on top. Anyone else think Newsdady is blowing this already?

Forget Beach or Mellville....Half Hollow Hills are the defending county champs and graduated no one...Look at their roster its full of all TS elite members

HIills by far.

They would win every race except the 50free and the diving. Look at their roster. They have 2 guys in ever race that make states or are close to the time.

LB would win the relays but hills would go 2/3

NASSAU VS SUFFOLK ALL STAR DUAL MEET WOULD BE EXCITING. Anyone else thinik that they should make one of those kind of meets.

Who do you think would win?

I think the top 3 on LI would be GNS, Jericho, Long Beach. I know that GNS is going to be first, they're just to fast. But, i don't know about Jericho and Long Beach.

WOW the results are up on section8swim.com and it seems that Jericho was not able to keep up with the intensity that GNS brought....lTake a look at the results of eastern states. Looks like Long Beach is making a case for the county title again. Cabasino 21. their medley went 1:44 and their sprint went 1:30.6 Cabasino anchored with a 20.8!!! Whats up with Jericho??? So slow all of a sudden? Did the pressure get to them?

BTW it is obvious that MetsRule is from GNS. he posted before any results were up.

Yeah Metsrule made it quite obvious regarding where he/she is from from that post. In fact, the section8 website didn't even have the results up until yesterday. Although LB did look as if they're not going down without a fight for the county title...did anybody see what One June Chang split in the anchor leg in the 400 free relay?? 45.98!! Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to edge out reigning 2nd place 50/100 freestyler in NYS Champs Jacob Johnson from Shenendehowa...Will they dual again at the state meet? Will GNS challenge LB's 400 free relay of 3:12 set last year? I think Jericho is still shocked from that devastating loss to GNS in what was supposed to be a close meet that ended up slipping out of their grasp. However, I believe Jericho will regain composure and show up strong at counties...nassau county champs will be quite interesting...Having those once independent swimmers now on teams only takes away points from GNS, Jericho, and LB from possibly moving up in the county. What will GNS go for at counties? Will they challenge Jericho and LB's 200 free relay? Will they blow away the 400 free relay? 3:15 is quite impressive for this point in the year..how much faster can those guys get? So many interesting questions and stories...who will show up when it counts?

Watch out for what will be one of the greatest races in the past couple of years at NYS champs...Frankie Dyer from Shaker did a 4:31 500 and blew away the field...will he challenge Reigning state champ Ryan Feely in the 500? Will they both go under the record Feely set at 4:29 last year? Feely has been 4:25 at USA Short course nationals. Watch out for one heck of a race

I have a feeling Luchsinger will do the 200 free and 100 fly (Been 48.8 at a meet in Pennsylvania..STATE RECORD)...Wagner I don't know...he could easily have the race of his life against Luchsinger in the 200 free (He's been 1:37.7 at USA Short Course Nationals) but I wouldn't be surprised if he did the 50 and 100 free again this year.

One of them needs to do the IM and go under 1:50! Luts could go fly / back and break both of Henihans records. He already has the 200....maybe he wants to graduate holding 3 state records?

Wagner has already gone 1:49 and Luchsinger has already been 1:50. It seems wherever you match these two up they're going to have a great race. What do you think they're going to end up swimming?

Who knows? They're both incredibly versatile swimmers along with GNS's One June Chang. Wonder what he'll swim? Do you think GNS will adapt LB's style of 3 relays and 1 individual event per swimmer as they did last year? I mean, hey it worked for them, didn't it? What is going to be the race of the meet at counties? Predictions? Winners?
