When will the state psych sheets be up??? anyone have an idea?

the 200 free will be a nasty race to watch!  Luts went 1:40 and Cerra went 1:41

Who will win the 500?  Feeley or Lane?

Can LB win the 200 free relay AND go under 1:27?

swimfan08

look for state records in the 100 free and 100 back from Jack Wagner and Ricky Henahan

WOW!!  Exciting NYSPHS men's swimming championship at Eisenhower!!   Jack Wagner was the only L.I. swimmer to win 2 NY state events in 50F and 100F.  Why haven't we seen pictures or articles on this swimmer?  This comes as no surprise........

Congratulations to Tom Luchsinger on his record breaking performance in the 200F!

The only reason I can think is that he doesnt swim for a "public high school."  He was impressive and is only a sop****re.  I know Feeley isnt from LI but Newsday should have given him props for breaking a LIer's record!

Your article on Jack Wagner is full of errors! Let's get a few things right! Jack is 16 and a sophmore! Emily Kelly swims for Sacred Heart!

Chaminade blew it! They have another excellent swimmer in Jonathan Derlath who doesn't swim for them for the same reason Wagner didn't. If Chaminade got past their noble philosophy they would probably have been able to take back the CHSAA championship with these two swimmers. Why wouldn't you want to capitalize on student/athletes who attend your institution and reflect positively on your school! I dont't think you will find club football or club basketball penalized because there is no such thing.  Certainly those swimmers competing in the club swimming have been short changed by this high school! Chaminade this is your loss!

Let's move on and give these athletes credit for their achievements and forget the narrow mindedness of this noble institution

Is it fair that an athlete take the spot away from another student athlete who trains everyday with that team?  Chaminade has several club swimmers.  They jsut make the comittment to go to both practices, club and HS.....doesnt LIAC hold AM practices?  Cant Derlath go to AM for one and PM for the other? Didnt the Chaminade coach say "we allow our student to compete for their club team, as long as it doesnt take away from our meets" Thats how it should be.    For boys season it is harder since most major meets are during the boys season.

Being a student athlete is a privlage not a right.

Then it is the decision of the derlaths, and wagners to not swim for HS....maybe its more?  Does the LIAC coach and Chaminade coach not like each other?

And as for errors - Tom and Ryan Luschinger do swim for Mt Sinai BUT there is no HS team, so their training with TVSC is not compromised.  Look at teams like GNS and Jericho...their teams are full of club swimmers, and I am sure their coaches make arraignments.  It cant be a one sided situation, each coach, both club and HS, need to compromise.  HS swimming would not be where it is today without Club, and Club wouldnt get alot of swimmers if they didnt find success on the HS level.

Great Neck South is going all the way to win the conference. They're gonna beat Long Beach by a lot and Jericho is a joke compared to them.
