So here we go again....another great season of HS swimming, and another season of no coverage by Newsday....

anyone out there have predictions?

Come on Newsday???????? 1 small "wrap up" in todays paper is all swimming is getting?????????? Can we please have the preview? You've done all the other sports!!!!

NEWSDAY your blowing it again!!!!! You waiting till boys season was almost over to do a story on the season, and now we have 5 weeks left and you still havent done the girls preview. Isn't GC going for their 10th straight titile? Isnt that a note worthy story???

Come on people lets get our voices heard!!!!!!!!!!!!

you figure with all the hype that michael phelps gave our sport...and with 564 people reading my posts that more of you would chat here. Also, again Newsday is blowing it! 3 swimming stories all year. How about that Garden City has not lost a meet in god knows how long. How about that this could be the largest nassau team going to buffalo in years!!!

Now many of the dual meets have been completed, and still no coverage in Newsday about these phenomenal athletes. Garden City defeated always strong Long Beach on Friday, Oct 17th in a nail -biter that was won in the last strokes of the 400 free relay. The house was rocking and the spirit on both sides epitomized high school sports. But all that meet received by Newsday was a score in Saturday's paper in a font that was smaller than a legal disclaimer. The Garden City girls have now finished their 7th CONSECUTIVE UNDEFEATED SEASON. They are on their way to compete for their 10th CONSECUTIVE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP. Kudos to coach Anne Sullivan, who truly knows her girls and how to win meets. Way to go, GC!!!!

Thanks again newsday for another season of wonderful coverage! Sheesh what does it take to get an article on girls swimming that is more than 1 paragraph long?
