She has had her glorious past, and she still makes sure she tells it to people every time before the meet now, but she has decayed and is no longer state-of-the-art, she messed up the whole meet today between Jericho and Great Neck North, and almost cost Jericho the game, who can we talk to address this issue? where is the authority? Tanya has faded so much that she randomly calls something by her will, she had my respect before, but her time is up.

Maybe we need max limit Tanya can direct a single team.  Say 2 matches per season.  But, seriously.  It's ashame that a great match between two teams can be put inot question because of bad directing.  Personally, maybe a touch here and there.  But, I'll never say a Director gave a team the win or "cost us the match".  For one thing that's a hell of an accusation.  Plus, a good or great team will find another way to win.  Don't just fence the other team.  Fence the director too.  for example:  If it's 4-4 in sabre Tanya will not make the call on a double hit.  Ain't a gonna happen.  One light it people.  It's that simple.  May not seem right and fair, but, so is life in the real world; get used to it.

It's more apparent this year because there is no true breakout team in either boys ot girls nassau fencing.  I was looking at the numbers and with some extrapolations, because not every coach phones in the results to newsday, ex:  GC boys have fenced 3 times this year according to the posted results.  but, I digress.  The girls side may end up with the top 5 teams all 7-3.  Imagine that.  Being on the road for the qtr finals with 7 wins.  The boys side looks just as close.  Maybe 2 matches at most between the #5 and #1 seeds.  Playoffs should be very interesting.

I kinda ranted on there.   what was this post about again?

Trust me, she doesn't do that. She gives points to who she likes, not who yells louder.

unless she likes the people that are yelling louder.Yell  The best thing is to develop a machine that will only register one touch!!  Take all the guess work out.  hahaLaughing  Or develop a way for the lame's to glow where they are hit.  eh.  I don't know.  It's  330 am.   I abstain.

It was upsetting that at one meet, on more than one occassion, she asked for the score during the bout, then made a decision on the touch.

come on guys Tanya is not bad at all... that would be too good for her...shes HORRIBLE, just horrible

wen i hav her as referee, she always seems to hav a blank look on her face like shes never seen fencing b4 and just pulls out random points for either fencer.

Best was when she called a Pary-reposte in epee (and gave it to only one person) on a double light last year ; ]

i generally do not complain about officials(i umpire baseball games),the job is basically no win and thankless.

however i did find it unconcerting that this women would have conversations with certain fencers and there families during matches.

additionally the matches that i witnessed, this official did not watch the fencers, her eyes were only on the scoreboard(lights).

i am not a fencer(my son is)so i do not know if this is correct procedure.

in baseball the rule is you always keep your eyes on the ball.

Don;t look at the lights!!  Is what coaches always yell at the kids.  the machine is there to support the director's call not make the call.  The call should be gauged by the action.  Then look at the lights to see if the call is suppoorted.  In fact, it is permissable for a director to award a touch even if the machine does not go off, I think.  I have seen that happen.  Exceptionally rare though.
