The winning foil team from 0-9 Brentwood could be considered a surprise but not when you see who it's consisted of. One of the reasons Brentwood has been doing so poorly is that they've been missing significant members of their foil squad. I don't think the return of Sanchez is enough to save the Brentwood team right now but it certainly is and was enough to win the Huntington relay in foil. |

It is a shame that the final lacked its full potential. With Freiss out, the bout final was very interesting. I would look out for a surprise Ward Melville saber victory however, at the next meet. This was the second meeting of the two squads with one key player in the Melville squad missing. With Freiss, Junior (who picked Olsen apart) and Leumbruno, the squad as a whole, is capable of being successful against the Commack squad. It will surely be its own meet, quite different than last time, however, still close. At least thats my opinion. I'm sure Alumni Fencer will disagree. lol |
