greg stolte whitman still on jv because of 2 upper class goalies the kid is still sick

Speaking of Whitman i played aginest them last week and there Goalie for varsity was outstanding.I dont care how good the jv goalie is there varcity goalie was amazing. If you ask me the only reason Whitman won the game was because of  his play in the second half.

I had the opportunity to catch the East Hampton @ Harborfields game on Tuesday May 19th.  EH played a great game...but the play of their goalie, Mark Simmons was OUTSTANDING, 24 SAVES / only 3 let in to secure their playoff spot.  I understand that these teams met the next day, for the first round of Class B Playoffs, and Harborfields won by 1 goal.  Thats Lacrosse!  Congrats to both teams on making the Suffolk County Playoffs.  It's a shame that we didn't read about either of these teams in Newsday during the regular season.  They were both deserving of some coverage.

Quote from ZOG below:

Players of the week:
(Note: Since we’ve ignored the goalies in this space for much of the season, we’re trying to make up for it this week.)

Who is WE?  Although it was good to finally see these GOALIES acknowledged this week, if the above is supposed to serve as an apology from ZOG for not acknowledging the phenominal games that other GOALIES  have had this season...it falls way short.

The Northport kids, Courts I think is his name is very good as the Whitman goalie Matt G.  I think the Northport kid is a soph.

Sayville kid is real good, a great technical goalie.

I thought the West Islip kid was good, he just didn't get a lot of shots. At least in games.

Speaking of Coach Deeks & last year's Empire Team...And Goalies:

US Lacrosse 2009 High School All-Americans

New York- Suffolk County
Longo, Nick — Goalie (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River, NY) — Towson

US Lacrosse 2009 High School Academic All-Americans

New York-Suffolk County
Simmons, Mark — Goalie (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton, NY) — Wesleyan

These two outstanding goalies who were both two-year All-County selections were cut last year at the final tryout before the Top 50...One of the goalies who moved on over them, was not even a starting goalie at the time.

It was so obvious that the Suffolk goalies had already been pre-selected, pre-determined & pre-negotiated.  These coaches play way too much politics at the expense of Players futures.

At least Nassau got it right with All-American Plainedge Goalie Rob Bellairs.
