TLI 4-0, Rebels 4-0 Heat 3-1, Seeded 1,2,3 for Sunday in Bracket A. TLI gave up 5 runs, Rebels gave up 8 runs, Heat gave up 7 runs in their 4 games, but none of them played each other, which was nice of the tournament directors. Great job by all three teams. No idea on the other teams. The Anthem Express 4-0 in pool play 3-1 in Bracket A, lost to the Chaos Gold (PA) 3-1 in the finals. On Sunday in championship play, we played NY Panthers Elite, Conkling Raiders, CT Charmers Gold, and the Chaos Gold. (PA) . The Delaware Invitational Tournament and Recruiting Camp is both a tournament and showcase. It is a very well run tournament with very good competition

the heat for 14u? haha thats really funny.
| soffballPosts: 11Location: Join Date: April 10, 2009 8:49 PMSend Message | my reaction too. Definitely not Heat. If memory serves, they only won one tournament this year, by beating weak competition including a 12U team that was playing up. I think that there are other teams that are stronger defensively like the Torlincasi Bandits or the Greco Chargers who both have solid pitching, fielding, and hitting. Or even the Express who have shown improvement--I believe they are stronger than the Heat and would be interested in seeing their head to head numbers. Too bad nobody is keeping track of how many runs every team at each level has allowed, because that would be a very interesting statistic. | |

the express has beat the heat every go around they've had, they're also one of the only teams that have played with riptide --COLE and beat tli 4 to 0 with tli's number 1 pitcher pitching.

Definately not TLI and the Heat. Although Team LI has entered tough tournamnets, the Heat have beat them a couple of times this year. As far as the heat goes--cupcake schedule a young 14U team..may be able to dominate 14U next year but when playing the big boys (tournamnet in PA over past weekend ) they went 0-5 but did win a watered down silver bracket. Thay have only played one of the top three teams this year and lost to the Express 5-2 and the Express has come alot further since then...I still think: Riptide cole, Bandits Torlincasi, LI Chargers or Express in 14U

oh I I just realized that the Bandits Torlincasi beat the Heat in the Halloween Havoc something like 18-0? Some ridiculous score
| soffballPosts: 11Location: Join Date: April 10, 2009 8:49 PMSend Message | TLI 14U definitely up there--you probably mean 13U, agree they are vulnerable. The 14u team plays mostly 16u tournaments so typically they don't face other 14u teams. Chargers and Bandits always have close matches like 1-0 either way. As for Express against them I don't know. | |
| TravelSBPosts: 162Location: Join Date: April 9, 2008 2:09 PMSend Message | This thread has gotten a bit distorted. Remember this is the Top 3 in each Travel Class 14U 16U and !8U Gold level. There are only 3 in the 14U group L.I. Riptide (94) Cole, TLI (94) Angel, and L.I. Bandits (94) Brian. The rest are non competitive and are just filling spots in local tournaments. I detect a bit of the Express Cool Aid being consumed again. It seems to get ditributed every once in a while especially around this time of year. Is this why the Express web site stopped posting the travel standings when their highly touted organization teams didn't win a tournament this year. L.I. Riptide (94), TlL(94), and L.I. Bandits(94) play a true competitive high caliber schedule a mix of 16U, and highly competitive out of State 14U. They all win multiple Tournaments at both levels and go to the ASA Nationals and usually have a very good showing. They are the true Big Dogs, the others try and with some minor success. I didn't even know the Heat had a 14U and the rest are teams that have run out of Little League eligability. They top 3 very seldom play each other because they are playing up or out of State. the only time this year that they played the L.I. Riptide beat the L.I. Bandits in he finals of a Pa. Tournament 7-0. Once again competing with top level teams.( Central Pennslyvaina Crunch, Jersey Jaguars, Blue Thunder etc.) The other teams that were in the Pa. Tournament from Long Island seeded vey low and at the bottom of the Silver Bracket ( Check Pa. Softball web site for verification of placement and scores) If you look at these teams they are the same 3 every year that win and the others just exchange players year after year and knock around in L.I. Tournaments. One ommission of a team that is on the fringe but plays a smart less competitive schedule is Chargers (Grecco) they win a Tournament or 2 but usually avoid the big dogs when they win. This will change soon for the 14u girls as they will begin playing with older Gold Teams and Showcase Teams and you will see them on the High School Fields with the winning teams. Give credit where credit is due and recognize the good ones for what they are and give credit to the other for playing a game they all love. | |

Good post with one correction. bandits/riptide did meet up before poconos with bandits coming out on top both times. like you said give credit where credit is due.
| TravelSBPosts: 162Location: Join Date: April 9, 2008 2:09 PMSend Message | L.I. Bandits did not meet up with Riptide this Season. It may have been last season or in the fall. Correction edit accepted. | |
| TravelBall_fanPosts: 11Location: Join Date: March 23, 2009 7:49 PMSend Message | I believe Bandits beat them in the fall, also Chargers beat them in the fall as well...But give credit to their team, they are a much better team right now and while I don't think they are in a league of their own, I believe Riptide (Cole) 14U is definately the team to beat @ 14U. | |

another express hater heard from I believe last year the two 16s finished 4th and 9th at the york pa nationals 16u blue just won the all-american in lowell mass going 10-0 beating some good competition and the 18u finished 3rd at the same tourn. the kool-aid tastes just fineThis thread has gotten a bit distorted.
