One gold Jersey team had an interesting set-up: they play almost every weekend possible, say 18 including the fall, and for like 2k you pick the 8 you want to attend. some are protected tourney's for juniors first. the roster was 20+ deep. I believe the great variable in travel ball is not the core cost but the family cost: if you're dragging around a whole family to things like Rising Stars you're gonna get killed.

Riptide ( 94) has established dominance at the 14U level. As stated above they won the Gold Bracket Final in the Pocono's, beating another good Long Island Bandit Team 7-0 in the finals. Top Tourney with the Central Pa. Crunch, Junction Girls, Pa. Blue Thunder, Jersey Jaguars, Diamond Dusters, L.I. Express etc. Looking for results from the Tradition 16U and 18U in Connecticut. Ther was a minor local 14u Tournament in Suffolk this weekend also.

I was at the Pocono Madness tourny. Riptide 94 went undefeated, scoring a total of 40-something runs and only giving up 4. That is certainly pretty impressive considering the quality of the teams there.

My daughter was playing 16u and I stopped to watch. they were more impressive than the 16u teams. Great defence, hitting, and very well coached. They know what they had to do and did it. Definatley a top Long Island Team. Very Talented.

Hey IDIOT, word is out that you are calling around looking for players from other teams to "help you out, because you are short-handed". What a laugh, you are a JOKE. Down to 9 players, 1 is injured ? That makes 8, you're 1 short IDIOT. Any luck begging for a pitcher to go to Nationals ? You forced out 2 good ones "who found a better match". hahaha...... Obviously they found a BETTER PERSON, who is also a good coach. What happened? why are they down to 9 players?

That tourney is a great tournament, always a good warmup for Nationals. Usually teams that do well there tend to go for big finishes at PONY or ASA. The Tradition website has the LI Heat finishing 2nd in the 18U Silver Division. There are a couple of other 18U LI teams listed on the tourney schedule, but no clue how they faired. No other Island teams listed as winners/runnerups, but they don't have the 16U Silver winner/runnerup posted yet. I know there are a few pretty good 16U teams that attended as well, so maybe they were in that division? What was the 14U tourney this weekend on LI?

He gives up all his free time to coach Sudden Impact and obviously he does a great job! Look at their record! won 26, lost 10. That is quite a record for a 12u team, and half the girls are first-year 12s, and some first year travel! He dedicates his life to the game he loves and has a great team behind his back. It is sad that anyone would feel the need to trash a great guy like Paul on a blog. All in all, Paul Ribera is an amazing guy and coach!!

Just for a minute, put down your Camel cigarettes and beer can, and listen to me. Stop taking your anger out on the coach, and a very successful one at that, get over the fact that you never were really good in sports and that's why you didn't start in youth ball. Stop blaming the coach for your inabilities in sports! Or perhaps currently your daughter has been sitting the bench reminding you of YOU when you were young, again, stop blaming the coach. There is a team for every kids ability. Paul happens to be one of the best youth softball coaches on the Island. He proved again last month when his team won the Bandit 12 U invitational CHAMPIONSHIP. All the good teams were there. Just because your kid possibly got cut from his team or didn't start or maybe your a coach who hasn't won a championship and is jealous of his accomplishments, let it go. You'll sleep better at night.

Fraud would probaly say that you are very jealous of Paul's accomplishments. He would say that you probably failed in all sports when you were young or possibly that your a current non-winning/failing youth league softball coach and you wish that you were Paul. Either way, it sound like your a loser.

You probably shouldn't go off about everyone else's kids being failures and then use an e-mail address as a screen name.

Also, I'm not talking about any other parents kids - I tell you what, I'll tell you who I am if you tell me who you are or are you to cowardly? You talk real big when you hide behind a screen name. Are you a coach, parent or just a bored, lonely person with nothing better to do then to bash a successful coach. I bet if you reveal your name many readers will understand your jealously of Paul.
