Where is Jrs former assistant football coach working NOW ? Anyone ?

ok idk if you read the thread headline... but here it is...Sal Ciampi Jr has been suspended...this has NOTHING to do with the assistant coach..so if u wanna talk about that make a thread somewere else..and to falsley accuse kids of taking steorids is outrageous..

" How about building these kids esteem.  Cheering them on.  Supporting them both in the game in in their personal lives.  Sure come down tough when they need it, but them show them the better way. That is the true measure of a coach.  A player shouldn't walk away feeling greatful for having survived the season.  They should wish it could go on longer, not pray every day for its end.  That's all.  All of you kids deserve better."

the last time i saw a coach have a losing season and say okay good game guys we'll get em next time..was when i last watched the Little Giants..maybe little league and junior high your about self esteem..but once u hit highschool its all about winning..this could decide what these atheletes do for the rest of there life and if you have a peice of cake coach who doesent teach disicipline and the desire to win east islip wouldnt have the atheletic history it has..the Ciampi dyansty has brought countless athletes to the next level and yeah some athletes dont work out..but what can you do..no coach goes into a highschool program to make the team worse.. you guys need to wake up and realize ur kids are no 17 or 18 years old...Danny O'shea is coaching them...wake up

From what I have heard, the asst coach is at home collecting his $100K paycheck while the district decides what to do with him.  A niece of mine in the school says that he IS coming back--thats the word.  Teachers have mentioned that if the district has done nothing as of yet, then there must be no reason to NOT bring him back. That same niece has the HC as her soc stud teacher.  Said all he does is hand out dittos, text his wife and show movies all day long.  Hasnt learned a damn thing in his class.  I dont know him personally, but i've never heard any examples of how "great a guy he is" and what he's done for the "community".  And as of this time...still no parental support.

so just cause your daughter couldnt learn from him of course shes gonna put the blame on him..ive had hime twice and hes widened my social studies knowledge and taught me many valuable lessons..

Many people on here have made very good points.  The fact remains that an accusation, whether right or wrong, was brought against him.  The district has a responsibility to look into it, and maybe because physical abuse was suggested, that is why he was removed temporarily.

With that said, and the same goes for his asst. coach.  If he did something wrong, his father and Boomer need to step aside, and Sal needs to accept his punishment IF he did something wrong. If he is found to have done nothing wrong, this father and son need to apologize PUBLICLY for potentially ruining his career (at least in coaching).  I would crown Ciampi the Pete Carroll of high school football just yet--he had one great season with an unbelievable mix of kids 2 years ago.  He is just a football coach...with a dangerous reputation, some of which may have been brought on by his dad.  But if he did sometehing wrong, he needs to pay the price.

This kid is causing so much crap. He has told kids in school that he is moving to west islip. Just do it already and stop trying to ruin someone's coaching career. YOUR IN HIGHSCHOOL "TC", GROW UP!!

okay..well this is funny..if we so call "roid up" why are our teams on a off year this year. Let me give you a couple examples of players who did roids.

 1) Barry Bonds-Never saw a off year with him

 2) Alex Rodriguez- He was the best player since babe ruth in his junior year

 3) Mark Mcguire/ Sammy Sosa- Set the homerun record

so why arent we winning as much as we should be if were roiding up...explain that one..no offense to either sports.. but why was our football and baseball one of the worst teams this year..so stop just accusing the kids who work there ***'s off all year round to win.

It seems to me that you have a sincere personal problem with this man.  I have been to many EI games and I have never seen the behaviors you are trying to insinuate happen.  Yes, he yells, find me a HS coach who doesn't.  No he does not pat kids on the back who mess up and say better luck next time.  That is not how sports work.  The man who accused Coach ciampi of this seems to have a personal vendetta against him.  I cannot understand how people can post things on this site that are absolutley false.  This man has a family and children.  I seriously doubt he is abusive and violent.  Whether you like the Ciampi's or not get your facts straight!

good point yet again

East Islip is a joke.  Kissing *** gets you on a team rather then talent.  It starts from little league on up.  Do yourselves a favor and send your kids to private school if they wanted to be judge on character and talent, rather then who's parent/alumni can kiss up more.  This dictator has drove kids out of the school district and has left children upset.  East Islip should find a better fit that like someone who actually treats their players with respect.  Maybe someone who looks for talent.  This goes for any coach in East Islip.  Think if your a father and your son was called some terrible thing.  I am sure if my father heard abotu that, this guy would be still recovering.  Treat people with respect and play the best man.  Thats all I ask.

not for nothing...why have there been such a turnover of coaches there at EI as well? If memory serves me, i saw 2 new coaches there this past season, and one is gone.  The year after they won the LIC, 2 more coaches left.  My neice also told me that the coach that left was an alumni and was rather friendly with Coach Ciampi.  There's a reason that all these kids aren't trying out, and all these coaches aren't returning.

haha not for nothing our football ball coach is sitting back makin 100k right now so dont even bring that to my attention. 2. his who ordeal is still in progress and if nothing has been found yet obviosuly there isnt nothing that cant happen. now to ciampi. and that coach left because of superindent actions. this whole ciampi thing the reason you "father figures" take there children out of east islip is beacuase of ciampi? what is he intimadting? your afraid your son might not play because hes not that that good. and tall the pArents think there sons are so great now days.

I have friends in East Islip and what is really bothering me is that those of you who are defending this man really believe that this behavior is normal.  That this behavior is what it takes to make a man  out of you.

Ask yourselves, if you get through college and you become a coach, would you treat your players they way most of you were treated.  I mean most of the players, not the chosen few who were lucky enough to go unscathed?

If you go on to do something else, get married, have kids, would you want your children to be abused the way these kids have been abused?  I say kids becasue there are many kids and parents who have come forward.

If this is what it takes to build character then we really are in more trouble than we think. If it takes being treated like this to make something of yourselves then I question just what that will be.

I know that I want more for my kids.  I know that what ever sport they chose, I would hope that the coach would be a positive, encouraging person.  Someone who would be tough when he or she had to be but also someone who would know how to build then up, not constantly knock them down and humiliate them.

From what I hear, this is clearly not the case in East Islip.  Not only from East Islip parents who have kids that go to East Islip but from numerous parents who have chosen to send their kids to private school to get away from this man.  It shouldn't have to be this way.

One more thing, TC whoever you are, just know that you are not alone.  Your parents should be very proud that you have the convictions to stand tall and be your own man, not a follower like most of these kids.  One day people will say what courage you had.  There are alot of those people now, they are just so afraid that the school will follow what they have done in the past, just bury it and not remove him.  These same kids that are making your life difficult now will always wonder why they didn't have the guts to stand up and face their abuser.  Hopefully they will realize that it didn't have to be this way.  Chance are they won't but I know that the parents of the younger kids will always be grateful to you if this age of tyranny finally comes to an end.
GRIDIRONFAN44

As the parent of 4 children, 1 a high school athlete and 3 younger, the part of this thread I find particularly troubling is that some of the posts from East Islip student/athletes defending this man are bordering on being illiterate. Do they teach english in East Islip? This would be more of a concern to me than whether the football coach is a pr**k or not .
