Jeez you must me a tough guy.  Attacking a parent and his kids who you don't know.  It obvious that you have lived in East Islip a long time.  The funniest thing is that East Islip would gets their asses handed to them if the went against a souther school.  But of coarse Sal Ciampi is the savior of East Islip, and its great to be called names and be abused by him.  East Islip should grow up and learn that a man that ruins lives is a ****head.  Don't attack parents redman because I bet your not some super star.

well if you dont want us commenting on what you have to say, why are you commenting on what we have to say. and calling us illiterate is just a dumb statement because you dont know any of us either. so if you dont want things said about you then get off of here because were here to stop people like mcsorley from spreading false rumors that he thinks he can blow up and keep making worse and worse as he goes. so were all here because during football season were all a big family and spend countless hours breaking down films and working out and practicing and we all look up to ciampi because he makes us all better athletes and better overall people. also just to add in if you guys are all tough and talking about how dumb we are what college did you guys go to? because i know none of you are any ivy league grads.
hagenough.gagliardi

No one called you illiterate, what was commented on was the one poster who is typing away at the keyboard and then hitting the submit button before going over what they posted.  This is not helping Ciami, only making people shake their heads more.  If you have something to post, post it, but just try and make it comprehensible is all.

There probobly will be no parental support.  You find that in many "entitlment situations".  Coaches like Ciampi teach their players to fight through adversity that many parents are attempting to shield their kids from.  In my minds eye a tough minded person who can handle challanges is much better off than a person who lookes for Mommy and Daddy to make excuses and/or save them from every tough situation.  In other words "Little Johnny" is forced to become an independant, sulf sufficient adult in the EI program.  Most parents can't deal with that because their children actually seem more respectful to their coach than to the parent.  Maybe it is because in the end, the player is greatful to Coach Ciampi for being real with them (even though the truth hurts at times) than blowing smoke up their butts.  You can't make excuses for your kids forever people!
Great job!  Too bad the "parents" on this blog conveniently skipped this one.  Definately right on the money.

One more thing, TC whoever you are, just know that you are not alone.  Your parents should be very proud that you have the convictions to stand tall and be your own man, not a follower like most of these kids.  One day people will say what courage you had.  There are alot of those people now, they are just so afraid that the school will follow what they have done in the past, just bury it and not remove him.  These same kids that are making your life difficult now will always wonder why they didn't have the guts to stand up and face their abuser.  Hopefully they will realize that it didn't have to be this way.  Chance are they won't but I know that the parents of the younger kids will always be grateful to you if this age of tyranny finally comes to an end.

a sense of character is how you handle yourselves in situations. running away and telling your parents that your coach yells at you is a sign of weakness. if he really had a problem, ciampi is understanding enough were all he had to do was ask ciampi to calm down, he might not have done it right away, but ciampi is the kind've guy who definitely would've apologized the next day for overly-yelling. That would have been a sign of strength for TC. But no, he ran home like a ****ing ***** and told on the ciamp

The sad part is is that you really believe what you are shoveling.  The fact remains that this man is very abusive.  The fact remains that TC is not the only person to complain, but I guess bullies hang together.  Oh wait, I forgot, a team takes on the personality of it's coach. That is well proven here buy your posts.  I guess bullying an underclassman make you all big men, just like your coach.  I would love to see him treat an adult the way he treats kids.  By what I read, he isn't man enough.  Stop bullying this kid and move on.  If your coach is that wonderful he shouldn't have any problem now should he.

Let's hope that you are sure of what you are saying because

you are toying with a man's life people!!!!

MAIN WORD IN WHAT YOU JUST WROTE - BY WHAT I READ. do you always believe everything you read? because last time i checked this story wasint believable enough to be in the paper so right now you just keep pulling stuff out your a**, when us student who have had ciampi for more then three years now are defending the man we know, not some guy who your friends friend told you about because last time i remember we played the telephone game in second grade and found out it never comes out the same as it was in the beginning. so by trying to go against someone by what youve heard or read is bs and you should just stay out of this because you know nothing and just keep throwing out lines that arent even true.

hagenough.gagliardi

Am I to understand that you think that it is okay to bully this kid?

Where is all of this so called support.  The same few are posting here, what happened to the baseball player who was defending him until there was mention of a video tape supplied by someone close to him?  I think you kids have so much more to learn in life.  I hope it is not toolate for you.  Always remember, what goes around comes around and when it does, watch out.

You are all too young to appreciate what is really going on here.  He has coached hundreds of kids, he has had many ***'t coaches in the last 8 years.  What does that say to you?  They learned from him very quickly and moved on?  Just curious.

hagenough.gagliardi

that was assistant coaches.  I hope that you can someday realize just what was

done here and why it was allowed to continue.  Until then.

eibaseball27

i dont understand how anybody can talk bad about him when u have never played for him.  i just played this past baseball season under him and have nothing to complain about.  the kid was just being a baby because he got brought up and sent back down which is how it works here.  and of course mommy and daddy had to get involved.  dont bash the man unless u have played for him.
eifootball19

wheres the support? umm let me think the entire town except one family seriously you dont know the guy so stop complaining if hes coaching or not
ftballguy

I dont know about the entire town supporting him.  Was just there for a bbq at my sister's house (my neice is a 10th grader in EI), and that family seems to have worn out its welcome.  Of course, everyone thinks he'll get a free pass, but they'd like to see some changes made.

I think you're missing the point here.  It is not about his family, it is about him.  If Ciampi didn't do anything then he shouldn't be punished.  That is the way it works.  You can'tmake something out of nothing.  The previous post was correct.  You are messing with a man's life.  Know what you're talking about before you post things.  It's obvious you personally don't like him, but that doesn't make hime the "abusive" man you claim he is.

ftballguy

Its not obvious that i dont like him...i dont KNOW him.  I just know that people like this, who have a well known name and a famous person in their corner (Boomer) tend to get off with a slap on the wrist.  If you read my earlier posts, if he did nothing wrong, then the family owes him a public apology.  WIll that happen? Prob not, but it would be the least they could do.  On the flip side, if he did do something wrong, then he deserves to lose his coaching responsibilities.  Dont assume that I dont like him, though.  I don't know him, and never professed to in any posts.

What really grinds my gears about this thread is how every comment so far that has acused Ciampi jr of being an abusive coach is from people who have heard it through the grape vine and some who do not even live in this town. There is such a thing as rumors and they can spread like wildfire when you let them get out of hand, just like how this is getting out of hand. Unless you personally know Ciampi Jr or have seen him commit one of these supposed acts of violence, you should not be commenting on his character. Also what point are you all trying to make on this newsday thread by trying to prove to a bunch of kids from ei that know Ciampi is a good coach, that were all wrong? We all who are commenting in Ciampi Jr's favor on this thread have a legitiment reason to be here which is to contain this rumor and nip it at the bud.
ftballguy

I think its great that his most recent players are sticking up for him---they do this because they want to be able to show their face in EI still.  Fact is, some of us (including myself) have followed EI football for so long because we had family that played for both Ciampis.  They are verbally abusive, physically abusive and mentally abusive.  Don't tell me that they never cursed you out, cursed out your family, your sisters, your mother, etc.  Back in the day it was accepted...not liked but accepted.  They the young one comes around riding his dads coattails, and guess what?  People don't appreciate it anymore...
hadenough.gagliardi1

It is very evident why people are not coming forward, just like my friend's in East Islip.  They fear retaliation.  Most people believe that this will be swept under the rug like everything else that Ciami Jr has been involved with.  The father is a legend in this town, were his tactics questionable, maybe, but the players whether or not they loved him or hated him, RESPECTED him.  There isn't any respect here.  I would love to see him speak up to an adult the way he abuses these kids.  From what I am hearing, if he abuses one more kid he is going to be embarrassed the way he embarrasses these kids.  There are so many people just waiting for him to make that one mistake.  You know it's coming.  Control does not seem to be one of his finest qualities.
