Big time schools with alot of students dont even have varsity lacrosse. Baseball will always be better in the south, since they can play 12 months a year, vs. a maybe 8 month baseball season here. But, when push comes to shove an organization will always take a northern baseball player over a southern one because its assumed that the northeastern one is tough, since they play in the coldest weather the U.S. can offer. Also, they have less time to show and develop their talent, so a chance of better potential.

lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in america making huge inroads in states like florida and cal. just about every state is playing lacrosse and leaving baseball in the rear view mirrorLacrosse obviously has the advantage since its really not popular anywhere else in the U.S. Do you ever wonder why NCAA D-1 is so small? Thats news to me..there are what 6 major league lacrosse teams? and there were more last year...(meaning its losing popularity. Oh wait, the only team lefts are pretty much left are in the northeast. Funny statement saying states such as cali and florida are leaving baseball in the rear view mirror. Until they have teams ranked in the top 100 like the northeast they cant compare. lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in america making huge inroads in states like florida and cal. just about every state is playing lacrosse and leaving baseball in the rear view mirror
and for the person saying soccer is growing, uhhh that might be because there are more spanish people now than ever. Face is, lacrosse isnt going to get much bigger, its been around forever and nothing has come of it.

| averagejoeballerPosts: 17Location: Join Date: May 7, 2009 6:13 PMSend Message | Let me first of start by saying lacrosse is gay, but wait how about really gay. Lacrosse is for the kids who got cut from the junior high baseball team and there daddys cried but only the stupid lacrosse coach would listen. Lacrosse takes some real talent you know form a diamond around the net and pass the ball around the net til the clock runs out. But I'll have to say those eye black tatoos you lacrosse players wear on your legs are very cute. | |

We'll never be considered elite but we haven't had a star player in the pros since, really, Craig Biggio. Lannan could count I guess. Stroman's big for us at Duke, Cory Rindone at NC State, and then these other Nassau kids coming through. We'll see. I feel like it's picking up, but it's hard to touch lacrosse when you're talking about it being the best prep place in the country.

yes lacrosse alive in america played by true americans.baseball is becoming like soccer played by non-americans. thats the way it is.we as americans, in this economic climate, willing to pay non-americans millions of our taxed money to people who send their money out of our great country. i hope not.manny, sosa ,palmerio and many more have taken us for fools. viva americaWe need more kids to go on and play well at the college and pro levels.
