I do agree though that hampton bays can surprise some people and should be third in the division if things will into place for them. With Babylon losing Rivas, Mattituck losing Tardiff, and Mt. Sinai losing Dierkes skys the limit for Hampton Bays. Not even close enough to overtake Glenn for the division.

Regardless of whoever hampton bays has, most of the other teams in the league are definitely worse than previous years. Glenn will win the division and Mattituck and Hampton Bays will be fighting for playoff spots. I don't think Bayport was anything special last year and I think Babylon lost a lot. None of these teams are going far in the playoffs so in the grand scheme of things the league is pretty useless.

| TheFlyingTomatoPosts: 73Location: Join Date: March 5, 2009 5:36 PMSend Message | yeah john glenn has got the talent and the work ethic they got some good kids i mean their pitchers are nice escobar is a good add, but the team should man up and play in league 6. i know they were bad for a while, but the past couple of years they have done well in league 7. now they are mt sinai should step their game up and move to league 6 with the other class a teams, then glenn will have some challenges and will be a better team in the end. also the pansy teams in league 8 that are class b should go to league 7 so it is an equal advantage. i mean center moriches and southold play in a poor league. this makes them a lock for the playoffs every year. however, those class b teams in league 7 have to play the class a teams. section xi should make these changes and give every school a far shot at the playoffs | |

| nyyankees675Posts: 117Location: Join Date: March 2, 2009 5:11 PMSend Message | First, what school do you go to postman, cause clearly you must be from a school I poked fun at. Second, I personally never said Glenn was that great of a team, it is the fact that their league is so terrible makes them a lock for the division. As previously stated, just bout every other team in league VII lost a key pitcher beside Glenn. And flying tomato, from what I hear Escobar is another overrated player, hes going to Farmingdale for baseball, so he really can't be that good. Maybe they are giving him a full ride, but still, if you are that good you can do better than Farmingdale. I wouldn't be shocked if the Glenn coach plugs him in the lineup right away without even looking at him, screwing over other players on the team who have played in that program for years and have been looking forward to this season. Time will tell on all these things. | |

| jkourie21Posts: 6Location: Join Date: March 16, 2009 10:02 PMSend Message | i know brian escobar, i know how he hit last year at st. dominic.....he went 5-12 pinch hitting and 16 stolen bases....he left because he was only going to be used as bench player, because he always comes thru in the clutch, and everyone knows how politics controls private schools....and now i heard he is getting screwed over at glenn because he is being used as a third basemen, i guarantee that he is quicker, faster, nicer hands and a stronger arm then whoever is playing shortstop now. LET HIM DO HIS THING. and so you get your facts straight....he turned down manhattan, sacred heart, and didnt have the grades to get into columbia, which still is trying to get him in. and farmingdale is ranked 21 in the nation for div 3...so how about you dont say he is overrated when you have never seen him play, i guarantee he is league mvp. | |
| nyyankees675Posts: 117Location: Join Date: March 2, 2009 5:11 PMSend Message | politics hits every school, as I am sure he will find out at Glenn. Reviews on him from people aren't amazing, and I did say that time will tell on all things, however I am 100 percent confident that Escobar won't win MVP. Massa will probably receive the honor because he is a good hitter and a pitcher, and being a pitcher goes a long way toward such awards. Not that I don't believe you, but the schools you mentioned are better than Farmingdale, so something is obviously missing. Maybe he doesn't want to be far away from home, I don't know. Obviously since he is going to be playing in a **** league, all league and other honors are not out of the question. While the reviews on him as a player are mixed, I did hear that he is a good person so I will be rooting for him, especially at that school. Sorry if I offended you jkourie. | |

| northeastbaseball09Posts: 56Location: Join Date: March 3, 2009 6:03 PMSend Message | scholarship to play baseball at the university | |
| northeastbaseball09Posts: 56Location: Join Date: March 3, 2009 6:03 PMSend Message | also i dont believe the situation at his old school wud be from politics it wud be from he has nowhere to play,st doms only lost 4 players and only 2 of them where players who played ss nd of.nd they already had a shortstop in waiten named stahl nd one of the best sophmores in long island who was also a great key last year as a freshman | |
| jkourie21Posts: 6Location: Join Date: March 16, 2009 10:02 PMSend Message | branden stahl? most overrated player at doms. go to the school and ask around what they think of branden, you'll be surprised what his own friends would probably say, 4 errors in the championship game, last inning....do you know who won the second championship game for doms? escobar pinch ran, stole second, stole third and came home on a blooper....no politics? his mom is the secretary for doms vice principal, who is the head baseball coach. o yeahh and his dad donated money for the scoreboard. go watch him on the field and then tell us what you think. escobar told me how he did in the dominican also, 8 errors in 7 games. while escobar was 7-7 on the field, no errors. so once again no one has any idea of the real facts. | |
| northeastbaseball09Posts: 56Location: Join Date: March 3, 2009 6:03 PMSend Message | so how do u explain the kid stahl batting 350 the whole year nd only having 2 errors goin into the championship series...nd do u kno if the kid escobar got a scholarship for baseball or a grant from farmingdale? |
