Alright I'll be the first to tackle this little tidbit. Feel free to disagree.

Setters- Christian La Du/Westhampton, Ryan Lilley/Ward Melville

Outside- John Schmid/East, Mike McKenna/West

Middle- Greg Falcone/Lindenhurst, Josh Tuttle/ESM

Right Side- Matt Jablonski/Lindenhurst, Curtis Williams/Ward Melville

Libero- Tyler Liers/West, Hills Libero/Hills

Utility- Bryan Weber/Ward Melville, Paul Ejups/West Islip

JV players to watch- Ryan Mathie/West, Eric Rizzo/Ward Melville

I'd love to hear your opinion, and please remember I don't know everyone who play's volleyball in suffolk so I'm sure someone will surprise me this season, in fact I hope they do.

i dont disagree with anyone there but theres a few more people who could be up there

on the jv players to watch i just want to throw it out there that ryan mathie doesnt play volleyball for the school team, he's an offensive lineman or some thing for our terrible football team

All those picks are solid, but im just saying over at Whitman watch out for ben brady. He's a very quiet player but can be a threat blocking. He's not a top player but he will surprise many teams.

ok..on Jv players.. i was on the same club team with ryan mathie and eric rizzo..ryan mathie plays football for smithtown west and rizzo is on varsity where he only goes into serve...the real players to watch out for is pat lilly on commack..big weakside and libero jay carroll on smithtown east. theyr only sophmores but they can tear it up

THEIR IS ALOT OF TALENT IN SUFFOLK VOLLEYBALL MORE PLAYERS EACH YEAR ARE PLAYING COLLEGE V. BALL LAST YEAR IT WAS BILLY GEMELLO BEING RECRUTED BY MANY SCHOOLS THIS YEAR IT IS GREG FALCONE BEING RECRUITED BY SCHOOLS FROM ALL OVER THE USA- THEY HELPED BRING COLLEGE COACHES TO WATCH THEM PLAY AND BY DOING THAT THEY CAN LOOK AT OTHER PLAYERS TOO.WHO DO YOU THINK MAY BE THE BLUE CHIP PLAYER NEXT YEAR??????

whitman is a solid crew. setter brendan dauscher is an animal. the opposite mahlstadt is nice with it. mccomb is dirty on the outside. tweety, the libero drops dimes, the 2nd middle pagangina isnt bad hell be good when he gets older, and casella, the huge kid can rake the kids a problem. theyre comparing him to likes of dante amaral in a sense that he just cant be stopped.

That libero from Ward Melville was a hell of a player against Sachem North. He sure did dig the ball many times. Another kid from Melville whom I was very impressed with was the utility man Tyler Dowd who hit well verse SAYVILLE. I still feel that Christian LaDu is the best setter in the county

Just continuing on the JV level players, Smithtown East JV is a very good team. Although my West Hampton team isn't very good they ripped us apart and I hear they are still undefeated at 5-0. They have three really good players... their libero number 1 or 2 I'm not really sure. He is an extremely good passer, think his name is Jay Carroll. Their setter, can't remember his number, has money hands and they run plays off of him all game. Their other great player is their outside hitter, number 3. I think I heard Tyler Donofrio, not really sure. He was running plays from all over the court and I don't see how any of the JV players in Suffolk could keep up with a team like them. Their other outside hitter is small but he can really hit well and pass like a libero, Gary was his name. Watch out for this team to go undefeated because they are way to good to be a JV team.

i was down at the our varsity teams game today vs. lindenhurst.

i dont see what the big deal about them is falcone is good but he is sooooo slow on all his plays. the only reason hes successful is because he hits the ball over the blockers.honestly, i dont think hes good enough to play division 1. jablowme wasnt bad tho. he hits the ball well but he trys ripping line straight down and he gets blocked pretty easily. he also got packed in the throat by a 1 ball. as a whole they have a good team. theyre sound in all aspects, but theyre definatley overrated.

i do not think overrated is the word your looking for im going to have to say its spectacular. They are 6-0 and does not seem like they will be slowing down anytime soon. Falcone only being ok might be the most idiotic comment i have ever heard. If he is so slow lets see you go and try to block one of his ridiculous spikes and him spiking it over the blockers is called a skill. Greg Falcone is volleyball.

On the comment from thehurst about falcone not being slow because he can hit it over the block, they really arent related at all. Granted falcone is a spectacular athelete, dont get me wrong. He moves faster than most his size and he is the authority on highschool middles for both blocking and hitting. If anyone noticed he did have a lot of trouble blocking mike mckenna for almost the entire match in the regular season game. I'm willing to bet that there was something wrong with him that day but the fact remains he wasn't quite getting out fast enough. No disrespect intended whatsoever. Just a mental note. it also helps mckenna can hit anyway he wants
