Sayville - Rocky Point played a "Pink" game Saturday.  Very nice to see 2 teams come together for 1 cause.  All money raised at the game will be donated to breast cancer research. It was nice to be part of something so meaningful!

State kind of penalizes downstate teams this year. Excluding NYC, there are about 11 million people in New York. 4.4 million of them reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester. Yet this year LI has to play winner of Section I (Dutchess, Putnam, etc) before going to states. Hence only one representative gets to go from 40 % of the population while the other 3 teams represent 60% (or 20% each) A school will have to play Mamaroneck who is unscored on and B school gets Putnam Valley (surprise winner-Rye won it all last year) No easy road for either team.

Huh?!?........too much math for me. The tougher the road, the sweeter the final victory!

GOOD LUCK to Ward Melville, Garden City and Port Jefferson!!!!

yes, the play-in game really stinks.  Am I correct in saying it's every other year? Last year Long Island winners went straight to the final four.
