I had two most memorable moments at Yankee Stadium. The first was when I was 7 years old in the early sixties. The day before the NY Football Giants were to meet the Cleveland Browns, my family sat around the dinner to discuss the game, and more importantly Jim Brown. They talked about how big and bad Jim Brown was, and how he was going to beat up the Giants defense. Listening, I was petrified. I didn't know who this Jim Brown was, but I didn't want to see him. When we arrived at Yankee Stadium I cried because I didn't want to go in and see this big bad guy Jim Brown. When Jim Brown came out onto the field I thought, he is so big, and he even looks mean. I asked my Grandmother if Jim Brown would hurt any of my Giants, and she assured me the Giants were tough enough to beat him. I don't remember most of the game, but one thing I did remember was I saw Jim Brown take the hand off and ran toward the goal line carrying three Giants on his back into the end zone. I was hiding behind my Grandmother watching this big, bad Jim Brown. The second was Jeter's catch into the stands. Not only because of the catch but the way that game was played. Like most Yankee-Red Sox games, the atmosphere was like a WS Game 7. The strategies from both Torre and Francona. Torre sending in pinch hitters and Francona responding by pulling the infield in and having all the infielders use 1st basemen gloves. I watched with amazement as the game was paused and gloves were being tossed to each of the Red Sox players. I stood there and just took it all in, looking around the entire stadium, looking at the faces of the fans, both Yankees and Red Sox, thinking what a game, and I am here.
